Infant versus child

yes i had to give kids dob when i booked last november... maybe its luck of the draw thing. but i would imagine they will be more vigilant on checking details at check in as they hand over appropriate vouchers... i couldnt lie... as i would stand there shaking and break into a cold sweat! hahahahaahahahah looking for mickey mouse to arrest me any moment!
wouldnt be best start to a holiday really....

You do have to give childrens' d.o.b. over the phone and have done since last October at least. It's on the booking form to be handed over at check in. I'm definate on that one because when we checked in at Cheyenne the CM picked up on it being Liams birthday the day before.

Well i actually think im going to put his age as 3 (he will be 2 and a half).
You see its the same price to have him 2 as it is 3. If i put him as 3 he wil get his food, all happy. If i put him as 2, he will get his breakfast and then dinner in a buffett and for his lunch i would take rolls , ham cheese etc from breakfast. So its all the same really /

:confused3 Do ppl think im wrong doing this ? either way is the same really !

i do think its wrong because you are lying. you are not entitled to the free food and i wouldnt feel comfortable doing it.

if you do then thats your own decision but i think its taking advantage.

Don't worry about what other people think and don't let anyone make you feel bad for doing what you think is right for you, I would personally do it if my DD was 2.5 nearly 3 and if people think i'm a nasty person for it so be it....:thumbsup2

Thanks littlemairmaid.
You see my point is, i can either get his lunch from breakfast menu (which everyone and their mothers do) or i can get a voucher ?? and some hot food for him. i or no one else will really lose out on money either way i suppose !
thanks for everyone's opinions .
i think ive made my mind up anyway lol

oh:cool1: cant wait now

End of the day your always have some people who will disagree with you but as long as your happy and its what is right for your family then go for it. The worst thing that could happen is that they take the vouchers away from you.

Yea sure i will try . im looking at him now and he has on,ly just turned 2 and is bigger thanany 3 year old i know ! he is a big lad. so fingers crossed !

Its not like you are sneaking him in....that little person WILL BE on the booking...the booking you are paying 100% for....well thats the way I look at it!!:)
In saying that I'm not sure I would do it as I would pass out...I was bad enough rebooking and cancelling my lot!!!:lmao::lmao:

I can see your point if the child is almost 3 and can eat a full meal. I only gave my opinion on if Disney would ask for the child's age I don't see it as a big deal doing it however these types of threads always cause controversy on Disboards, this thread has stayed rather calm and friendly, if it was posted on one of the main US boards it wouldn't of lasted this long.;)

i think its fine... i am with katrina in that i would faint.. hahaha... i think it would cause me more anxiety...then its worth..but at the same time.. you can always put it down to a "mistake" either end, and he is only 2.5 so he is hardly going to eat tons is he, and he is still on the bookign either way, so i dont think its a big deal, if you feel ok doing it, then go for it! x

Hi

I can't say i blame you!!
Its funny though because I'm in the opposite situation.....

I have 4 children, who are 7,5,3 and 11 months

When we went in March my 3 year old was just over 2 and a half and because that meant I had 2 children and 2 infants we could stay in one room at SL (for some reason the rooms at sL allow 2 infants??)

My 7 and 5 year old would have a meal each and because they are also only small there was easily enough food for all 3 of them to split and share.

BUT this time we are going to book for december and my 3 year old is 3yr 2 months - so because of this 2 months (over 3) we have to have 2 seperate rooms even though they are all small and will share one double bed anyway so 1 room will be totally un used!!!

And he will get free food which is great but there is no way they will all eat large meals so I'll have loads of spare food too!!

This thread got me wondering..... If people do it this way round (saying child is over 3) how many must do it other way round and say child is under 3 when there not???/

I wouldn't dare try it although I'm sure they didn't check kids passports last time i went. I just know they would this time!!

Not moaning just think its funny how people have different needs and things that suit one family doesn't suit another??

And that I have to pay over double what I paid 9 months ago because of 2 months!!!!!

But hey!:)

Some people have definitely been asked to prove their child was under 3 at the gate. But double the price in 2 months, I feel your pain!!

I'm going to get flamed here but you know this is fraud. Just because it's easy and seems victimless doesn't make it right.

Not a popular opinion I doubt and I'm not squeeky clean in all things but it just feels wrong. Like someone said, where does it stop, pretending to have 2 children when you've only got one because you're hungry?

I think similar since I have a difficulty with telling the children right from wrong when they see dad not playing by the same rules :) But equally I would not flame those that want to do it. It is really up to Disney to make policies that make sense rather than encourage loop holes.

As long as you are comfortable doing it then that's all that matters. If I were you I would put him down as 3.

The DSS issue bus passes to those over 60, is it appropriate to lie when you're 59 to get one as it hurts no-one? No, you become a benefit cheat and the scourge of the Daily Mail.

I don't think it is Disney's responsibility, I think it's ours.

I also think we need to stand up and be counted when standards start slipping but hey, I'm Victorian as I said before!

At least with the free lunches, people will stop pinching from breakfast, probably save DLP a fortune

That's a joke BTW before I get flamed ;)

I don't see taking the breakfast for lunch as stealing though I have never done it. If you put some extra bread, cheese on your plate and save it for lunch I don't see the problem. :confused3

If you weren't stay at the hotel and came in and helped your self to the breakfast then that would be stealing.

and I am female and an unmarried mother whos child has been in nursery 18months, a student and I go out without make up, so I am sure the Daily Mail already hate me,:rotfl:
