Hi, we are in the process of booking for Feb :cool1::cool1::cool1:
Who could resist with that offer !

But my son is 2 years (today, happy birthday boy) and i was wondering if i could put him as a child instead. THis way he will still be free but actually get food vouchers . i know he eats free in buffetts anyway but just for lunch
I cant remember if they checked passports for childrens ages the last time we were there !

thanks

The only time they checked my daughters id when she was 2 when we was going into the park, she is very tall for her age and looks older than she is. If your putting your child as 3 then they will have a park ticket etc so i dont think you will have anything to worry about.

If you get a meal voucher you'll have to pay for tickets for him so it wouldn't save you anything anyway....

Have you priced up both options on the Disney site, to see if there is any difference in what you'll pay, listing him as 3 instead of 2?

:happytv:

I thought with the children go free this was their park tickets aswell as the hotel?

Yes I know this is the theory....same theory that children can travel free and Eurostar for 2 adults 2 children costs £500 through DLRP but only £270 through Eurostar where children aren't free!

i have just checked a couple of dates and it doesnt make a difference to the price.

That's good news. I don't think there would be an occasion to have to verify a child was too young to have a ticket do you? It's normally the other way round.
There's possibilities here, if for example you were staying in DCR you might have up to 4 children with you...................virtually. Wouldn't be up to it myself.

oh this is interesting, as Milo will be 2 and a half when we go.. and i was wondering about him at lunchtimes also... if there is no difference in price, i guess it would be best to add him as three wouldnt it? this wouldnt interfere with booking would it? do they look at passports at check in etc i cant remember?

I can't remember either, but I think they only check the lead passenger's passport?

sorry to change the subject slightly. but i had a similar argument with my travel agent today. i booked the whole package inc eurostar with disney. (to make things easier for me) apparently kids under 7 travel free, but if my 2 year old wants a seat we had to pay an extra £97!!!! thats not free. had she been 4 she would of been free. they are mad!

that is crazy.... mmm do you think it would pay to ask disney when i ring to book later, if i explain? if i say...look he is "nearly" 3 and will eat as if he is three, so am i able to add him as three... with his real birth of date still, so it works with passport?

if you put in his real birthdate it wont come up with the free food offer. the only way to get it is to lie

....so if i lie.. and put his birth year one year less... wont that be a problem if they check passport? the flights are already booked, so thats no problem... but i am worried they will check at check in? i guess if that happens i say "oh.. how wierd...." haha... play the idiot...

well thats the risk you have to take as technically he isnt entitled to the offer. i dont know if they would start checking these things because of the offer or if everything would be fine. to be honest if it was me i would just end up paying for ash as i know with my bad luck i would be caught out.

he will be free in buffet places wont he? but what do i do when we have dinner at annettes etc, i guess i will have to share my meals with him?? mmmm its a bit of a pain isnt it?

i know, its up to yourself really but i have the worst luck in the world so it pays for me to be honest :lmao:

yeah you would have to either share with him or pay for his meal

I imagine between me, matthew and ben, i am sure milo will have enough to share and if not i could top it upw ith some chips or something i guess... it is a shame though, and it something they shoudl think about really when doing this offer.

people did this with the WDW Free DDP, made there kids older to as well as making up guests(I have no idea why anyone would what even more food than the DDP gives though!), I wonder if DLRP will be any quicker to catch on than WDW, If they figure out what people are doing(almost certain other people have had the same idea) they may ask to see passports of everyone.
