I am very excited that they are now offering Indy race car driving experience at the WDW Speedway. My DH is a huge Indy racing fan. I am thinking about getting him this for a Christmas gift. Has anyone done the driving or ride-along experience yet? What was it like? Was it worth the money? What happens if he wrecks the car????

Thanks for the reply... but I want the Indy experience as opposed to the Nascar experience. Probably similar, but he is a huge Indy fan. As for crashes, do they hold you/ your insurance carrier liable for the cars?

I got my DH this for his birthday, but he hasn't done it yet because of a deal they have going on. It is usually just under $100 for the ride along, but right now it is $42 if you buy it in advance, and then do it after January 1st. I thought it was a good deal :)

So sorry ! My bad ! I wasn't even aware that they were doing Indy cars now. Very Cool ! :thumbsup2

I have done this at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway and it was AWESOME!!!! As far as wrecking the car, if that happens the last thing you are going to be worried about is if you or your insurance is held liable. Driving an open cockpit car on a speedway in excess of 120 MPH or so is dangerous even with all of the safety precautions they take. I am looking for the copies of the paperwork I signed to see about the liability but I seem to remember that if a problem occurs because of something you do (not follow the leader, not follow directions, drive recklessly) then get ready to pay.

I am huge indycar fan so this was a big deal to me but my wife, who got me this as a gift, had no idea what it actually entailed and she said she didn't breathe from the time my laps started until I pulled back into the pit.

I hope I didn't scare you but I was just sharing. Also there is a weight limit of 250 pounds and at least when I did it they were serious about it and weighed you if it looked close--just in case your hubby is close to that weight.

I have the driving experience booked for Dec 10th!

I'll post how it was when we get back home.

My birthday is in Jan.

And I'm a huge Indy car fan (never got into the NASCAR racing)

So... I'm thinking of doing it, very soon! :3dglasses
