INCREDIBLE MED Cruise prices!!!

Unfortunately - the airfare could cost as much as the cruise!
Man... reading this thread makes me want to book this summer SO BAD. But alas... the flight costs so much that it's a deal breaker. Plus the ports we'd be going to wouldn't be ones we'd want to miss and we'd want to do things that cost even more $$. I'm pretty sure that these reasons (especially the flight, no castaway cay, etc.) is exactly the cause of them lowering prices to fill the ship up!

OK - Here you go::::cool1: I'm reporting back with our room assignment:

If you didn’t go back and read the beginning of this thread – where I posted that we were originally booked in a Cat 9 on deck 2 for our 070707 Med Cruise, - We decided to roll the dice, and switched to a GTY Cat 12 – WE SAVED @ $5400.00,   ( Thanks again OP) and I just checked DCL’s website, and it says…….:rolleyes1

Ship Accommodation: Stateroom #2504 :cheer2:
Catagory 12: Standard Inside Stateroom

2504 is a Category 9 – Deluxe Oceanview Stateroom!!! Woo Hoo! How lucky is that!pixiedust:

My only concern is that it is very very forward on the ship. :sail: We have always stayed mid-ship in the past. Anyone have any experience with a room in the front of the ship in the past? Is there more motion???

Also – can anyone confirm that all Oceanview rooms on Deck 2 have the large porthole window?

Either way – I am MORE than HAPPY that the dice rolled in our favor and we got bumped up to a Cat 9!

Wishing GOOD LUCK:tinker: to anyone else who decided to “downgrade” and take advantage of the unbelievable savings!

Happy cruising!

Sher

That is so awesome! I just read this thread and now I see you saved a ton of money and still got bumped up to cat 9- you can't beat that! I'm so happy for you!

We are with Shercara on the 070707Med. We switched from a Cat 11 on Deck 6 to the GTY 12. Just read today that we have been assigned to a Cat 9 on Deck 2, a few doors down from Shercara  We saved $4000 by taking a chance and are more than happy to be a few decks down with a window :cool1:

Hi

Congrat's on your upgrade!!!

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 2504 Condition: 5
Deck: 2 Category: 9 Location: Forward
Sail Date: 02/28/04
Notes: Was listed as a noisy room, but was very quiet. The room was a longer cat. 9 room by about 3-4 feet. We loved it!!

Ship: Disney Magic Stateroom: 2504 Condition: 5
Deck: 2 Category: 9 Location: Forward
Sail Date: 10/20/06
Notes: Our 3rd cruise; the other 2 were in 2508. More room than 2508; great location with plenty of quiet. Only problem was the bow thruster noise at 5 am on the last day. Great room other than that.

Ship: Disney Wonder Stateroom: 2504 Condition: 5
Deck: 2 Category: 9 Location: Forward
Sail Date: 03/15/07 enters port, and it was not bad at all. Slightly larger than other 9's due to ship design. We would not hesitate to stay here again.

Notes: This cabin was extremely quiet. Only noise we heard was when it first

We're on the 070707 11 night and downgraded from 2 Cat 10s to Cat 12s. Saved about $7600.

Checked our reservations a little bit ago and we were assigned connecting Cat 9s! That's more than a $10,000 upgrade for us! :cool1:

Thanks to everyone for your replies and reassurance that this room will be fine! I am feeling very lucky that the Magic of the Magic has been passed our way! Can't wait!

Sherri

Congratulations to everyone with upgrades!

We are on the 7/18/07 10 night med cruise and are still in guarantee status for our two staterooms.

I am just wondering, for those who received the upgrades for the 7/7/07 cruise, did you already fill out your online check in forms? I just started filling mine out today and I am wondering if that has any bearing on being assigned gty staterooms yet?

Have not heard of anyone from my cruise date being assigned, but figured if it makes a difference I will hurry up and finish them tonite, lol.

Thanks all...

We were in a Cat 6 with 4 people, called our travel agent to down grade to the cat 12 gty and had our room in two days. They upgraded us to a Cat 10 secret porthole! We couldn't be happier and we saved $8500!!! It's going to be great.

We also received our credit in different amounts but it all added up. And we already had our on-line check in done.

I think the determining factor is which cruise you're on. The folks on the 7/7 cruise will start getting their paperwork in about a week (30 days before the cruise), so - allowing time to print up luggage tags - now is about the time they'll be getting their assigments. People who downgraded on earlier cruises were getting their assignments within hours after downgrading. Following that logic, I'd expect you to see your assigment within the next 2 weeks. Being on the 7/28 cruise, I wouldn't expect to see mine until mid-late June.

Thanks for the congrats Carol - no have not filled out the online forms yet - I think danfromca is right - it has to do with your sailing date.

Good luck - hope things work out for you too!

Hi,
We filled out our online registration forms as best we could. I had problems choosing airports and the computer kept changing my times. I am going to verify the info with Disney by phone.

Can't believe it is almost a month away!

Kathy
