In the last year How far out and where?

I think this is a rehash of a post we had about 9 months ago but I thought we would try it again.
How far out and where are people booking? I thought we might like to look for recent trends.
For example
For my Trip to SSR in August 07 we booked 5 months out and got 2 studios right next to each other.
We had asked For VWL but it wasn't available so we took the sure bet at SSR

We're now booking routinely day by day at 11 months out for all our reservations.

We tend to go the first week in November....with Jersey week and the last week of the F&W....we use our 11 month window.

We always book first week of November too. Last year I booked in July. Asked for OKW and could only get BWV. I took that and waitlisted for OKW. It came through in about 3 weeks. So far we have never used either the 11 or 7 month window. Guess we have just been lucky so far.

We've been members since 2003 and we have always booked our large family trip annually at 11 months out at our home resort (OKW) and at the 7 month mark transfer our reservation if desired. We end up changing resorts from our home about 50% of the time.

For our not-so-planned trips we book when ever we know we can and will be going. The times and durations vary and we play it by ear as these are all within the 7 month period (usually more like 2-3 months) and we approach this with a take what we can get, if anything, attitude. We have been very fortunate to date and only once have we had to settle for what was not our first choice and were we limited by availabilty. This first and only time we experienced this was last year booking at 2 months out for a stay in June. Honestly, we thought we would have to do a cash stay and were shocked to find availability at all on such short notice and during a peak season.

Very excited about our second reservation as we'll be able to do MNNSHP and F&W during that trip....was surprised that all the dates were available at BWV!

We also book day by day at 11 months out, whether it's busy season or not.

(A few years ago, I tried to book BCV at 9 months out and couldn't get it. I didn't think there would be a problem until 7 months out. So I learned a lesson. Oh, by the way, it was during the food and wine festival. Although in my defense it wasn't as popular as it seems to be now.)

We booked our 12/27-1/4/2009 OKW trip at 11 months (2 studios). We didn't book day by day. We called 11 months from the end of our vacation. For our trip last January, we booked our BCV studio in October - so about 4 months out.

AKV Standard Studio 10/25-30 booked at 8 mos. Tried switching to VWL at 7 mos. and got waitlisted.

The F&G trip that's coming up was booked at 11 months, not day by day, BCV studio. Then at 7 months, I added a night with other points.

Our Beach Cottage for June and our NYE week stay at BWV, were booked day by day, but our other stays are usually booked in the 11 month period butnot day by day.

Got: 3 days std, 1 day bdwlk view.
(DH refused the wait list for the last night because he was soooo happy with going with his 2nd choice of a bdwlk view for the last night, and we could handle the extra points for 1 night.)
