In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Morning ladies. I just got off the scale and I came to share numbers because I need to see them in writing and own them.

Right now I weigh 136 which is up three pounds from three weeks ago but down two pounds from a week ago. So that puts me 6 away from my original goal but theres a new goal... 11 pounds by October. I've said it, it's out there in the universe, now it's time to make it happen.

Off to make my lunch and head off to work. Have a great day ladies.

Wow! Really? :confused3 Looks like we've all been a bit on the busy side!

Today was filled with Dr's appts, errands, back to school preparations. The summer is waning fast here. :sad1:

I feel totally and completey gross. My workouts have been few and far between. My food has been plentiful. :rolleyes1 My kids go back to school on Tuesday, so my routine will once again be forced into some kind of normalcy, for which I am extremely grateful.

LISA! Thought of you today. We were at Old Navy and there it was. The beautifully fabulous red jacket. :lovestruc

Be well my friends. I miss you all!

Good morning everyone (or at least it is morning in my world),

It has been way too quiet around here lately and I am amongst the guilty parties who haven't been posting lately. Hope everyone is doing well.

It has been a stressful here. Someone brought a cake to Tuesday Night dinner this week that was named Chocolate Thunder that is pure evil! It has been tossed out so that I stop picking at it! Argh...

Off to get ready for work. Talk to you all soon!

HI Paula and Nancy

Back to school already started here this week.
thats funny that you said that about Lisa. I though of you to today Lisa.
Hope all is well.

Paula that just in not right to bring a cake like that.

How many miles do you have to ride this weekend.

I walked 1 mile at work today

then hot dogs for dinner. UGGGGGGGGGGGGGG I SUCK

Jo I had Mexican food and it was $1.25 16oz draft night (mmm Dos Equis, Negro Modelo...), so I am with you on the bad me.

I am going to recommit on Sept 15th after the WDW vacation.

This weekend is 3-4 hockey games... tomorrow at 6PM, Sat at noon and 9PM, Sunday possibly at noon. I might do the 10 miler on Sat AM, not sure yet.

Paula, I have been meaning to ask you, how long does it take to do 60 miles? What time do you guys start?

Meg, got your PM - I would be beyond excited if you joined for the OBX half. :goodvibes

When do you leave, Kat?

I'm recommitting on Tuesday August 31st. When my kids go back to school :thumbsup2

Kat- I'm going to look for flights for the OBX race just to see what I'm looking at for cost to do this. I'll let you know after I investigate a little.

And I'm so jealous about your WDW trip, I'm having withdrawals.

Jo- I had a hot dog for dinner. Owning it and moving on. My next meal is another chance.

I recommitted myself this week. I'm already feeling better about things. It also helps that I'm back to running after my illness, its making me feel more into it.

I'm so glad that you finally found what was wrong and that it's totally treatable.

Look at flights into RDU as well, as you can absolutely drive out with me. It's about a 3 hour drive. The rental houses have a 3 night min, so we would drive out Fri and back Mon. I have 2 spare bedrooms and a large car, so if your sis or a friend wanted to come they are more than welcome.

So is anyone else by the way (Nancy, I am looking at *you*).

I leave for WDW on Sept 5th, coming back on the 13th. EE and I are meeting up for lunch on the 6th. :goodvibes

Kat, WOW all that hockey and maybe 10 miles will sure burn off some beer!!

Let's stop talking about the Chocolate Thunder... I am getting hungry.:rotfl:

6 months!!!!!!! I can't wait

Ok, question
There is a 15K November 6th. I have gone as far as 4.5 miles so far.
(ummm I have not done much this weeK:eek:

Could I be ready for the 15K by November? I would have to add 5 more miles in 2 months?

What do you thing?

Jo- Are you still doing your running group? Whats your training plan right now, or do you just go out and run? Sorry I should probably know the answers to these questions but I can be forgetful of where we all are with training.

Hey ladies. Started off my morning with an experience that was kind of scary. I took my dog out for his daily 6 am walk. There's this one house at the end of my street thats a bit run down(which is totally out of place in my neighborhood and would make the pervious owners cringe) and I pass it every time I take my dog for a walk. Well there's a whole section of fencing missing and today as my dog and I were already passed the house I hear barking coming from the house. I turn around to find there's a dog standing the empty space in the fence. He's barking like crazy. I know I have a few minutes head start on this dog because not only am I ahead of him but the yard has a stone wall with like a two foot jump that he stopped at. So I turn the corner, cross the street and start booking it down the street while I'm pulling out my cell phone to call home for some help.

I turn around and there is another dog there along with the first one, chasing after us and barking like crazy. I'm still trying to pull my phone out. And god bless my dog who normally is curious about other dogs he's just running it down the road next to me. (Have I mentioned I'm seriously fast when being chased by two dogs I've never seen before?) Finally I realize that I can't make it all the way home without these dogs catching up to us at some point, I mean even if I made it to my house I still have to stop to open the door. So I'm scrambling for my phone and I stop to confront them, hoping a car would come along soon in case this goes bad. So I stop and I say "no" in my stern dog owner voice. One dog turn and ran as soon as I said no. The other stopped and was still too close for comfort. I took a step towards him and said "no" again and he took off.

I was so angry. A dog should never be put out in a yard with no leash on, no collar on when there is a four foot section of fencing missing when the dogs have this type of reaction to people on the street. And during this whole thing I never once saw anyone who looked like they owned the dog. I was so tempted to march my dog right home and go right up to that house and give them a piece of my mind. I'm still mad about it now.

I guess I can just be glad they backed off and there was no confrontation. I warned my family about it too for when they go walking with the dog in the neighborhood.

OMG, Meg, I guess you can say you did some speed training today :lmao:
But you know you can call the police and report that house. Don't call 911. Call the local # for your village/city/town.

My training plan... Well I am kinda diong M4M. 3 runs a week, every other day with cross train, but it does not always work out that way.
I have a 5K race tomorrow.

This week I did....
Monday (ZIP)
Tuesday (NADA)
Wednesday 2.5 mile walk in 42 min (at home pushing Alaina 30lb in a non jogging stroller)
Thursday 1 mile walk 15.5 min At work on lunch
Friday 2 mile walk 30.5 mins At work on lunch

:rotfl: yup, definitely got some speed work in! I am going to talk to my parents and see what, if anything, we should do about the dogs.

Jo- I think if you get the miles in and you can run from now till then you should be fine. I'm going to pull out my marathon for mortals book tonight and refresh myself as to what the plan looks like. I mean I'm obviously no expert but I used that play to train for my half and for the Tower of Terror races in disney which were 13ks.

OMG OMG BREAKING NEWS!!!

Alexa lost her first tooth. And she said the tooth fairy is going to brink $5.00
Ummm The tooth fairy may need to make change some how. HA HA HA

Wowza...been a while for me (again!) Quick drive by. School starts on Monday so I should be around regularly again.

Hung out on the beach with Taylor Swift today (seriously)--the girls will never get over it--and then we got VIPd into her concert here in town. It was live on CMT for anyone who saw it. And we got air time, so I have to go back and watch our recording of it to see us. FUN.

Back on Monday after I put the kids on the bus (sadness!).

Yeah, it was super fun. She was very nice, but also drippy/sappy. I was like, come on, be real already. But we all played it cool and the girls didn't sqee until they were in the crowd watching the show. Did anyone catch it? It was broadcast live last night. Everyone in town is psyched because the special made our town look GORGEOUS. And truthfully, it IS gorgeous, but WOW, did it look good on tv!

Erika- I am beyond thrilled for you and the girls! My dad and I actually love Taylor Swift but she really is always kind of sappy. I want to many more details and I'll have to catch a rerun of it because CMT always reruns their shows. (have I mentioned I'm a country nut?)

I've missed you around here.

Erika,
I so wish I seen that. Country nut here too.
Let me know if they do re play it on CMT.

Just did a 5K in 40.49
The older couple from Biggest Looser was there, Gary and his wife, the White Team. and Mike the largest guy from last season was there to.

I feel good, the run was a little hard, I just keep wondering how am I going To add 10 miles to that?

Just a quick drive by! I am tying up lots of loose ends at work - still working on finding 15 people. I am 11 and Monday is our deadline to begin background checks. :scared1: I'm also working on getting everything packed and ready, so I don't have to mess with it during the week. Let's face it, my schedule is super tight. One piece of good news is that my ex is going to drive me to Owensboro, so I don't have to leave my car. I don't know what got into him, maybe my fairy godmother sprinkled him with pixie dust. :rotfl2: I am so excited about this trip. I'm already getting tears just thinking about it.

I hope everybody is doing great!
