In Search of My Body vol.9 - I Get By With A Little Help From My Friends

Hi...

Remember me? What a crazy week this has been! Work was just all consuming so I apologize for not keeping up here. Sounds like you all have been busy too.

Things are hopefully going to quiet down in the next few weeks. We hired someone to work the night shift so that should help.

Eating like crap lately but not too horribly. Trying to get back on the wagon this week. The bike riding is going well. Finished a 60 mile ride this morning. My legs are like rubber at the moment but the ride was a good one.

I promise to post more regularly this week. I miss you gals and the support you have to offer!

Happy Saturday.

I am going to go for 4 miles on the treadmill today, I have to see how my knee is.

Amiee, the storms missed us last night, I think its to rain all day today.

I hope everyone has a great weekend.

Kat, how did the 10 miles go?

It went well! I taped the shin - compression sleeves had to be exchanged for a smaller size and am still waiting.

I took it easy, stayed with the 13 min group, and walked in the last mile.

We had a pancake breakfast after, and then I drove the 4 hours to the Outer Banks (with ice packs on shin and hip!).

Shin today is a little tender but not too bad.

Good Morning!

We had just enough rain yesterday to make it miserable. Ryan had a football game that was supposed to start at 4pm, so he had to be there at 3. The game didn't start until well after 5 and left the field at 7ish. I literally had a layer of dust glued onto me by sweat. And my clothes reeked! :rotfl2:

I spent the rest of the evening working on autograph books. I hope they turn out great, but this is my first venture, so I am a little intimidated. I'm also working on index cards for our trip (ADR's, touring plan outline, etc).

Exercise - didn't get any yesterday. Does the outdoor sauna count? Food - came in just over 1100 calories.

Paula 60 miles WOW, just WOW :worship:

Kat, glad the shin is not to bad. (after my 4miles yesterday I was at soccer with an icepack on my knee watching the game)

enjoy the Outerbanks... This is with the in laws right?

Amiee, sorry for the yucky sweatfest. You must post pics of the books.

Nancy, how did 4H go?
Meg, how are you feeling

Hi Lisa, Erika, Kelly, Ronda

Jo- I know it seems like 13.1 is a long way away right now but remember when 4 seemed like a long way away? That's the thing... you've already accomplished something that seemed like a huge deal at one point. You can do 13.1 and when you'll do you can look back at how far you've come.

Thanks for asking how I'm feeling. Sadly I'm still coughing and its taking a huge toll on my body. The newest inhaler isn't working and the coughing is just exhausting my body. I will be calling tomorrow to talk to the doctor and I really need to get on the treadmill in the next couple of days, I haven't run since this cough got bad.

Yes, Nancy, how did 4H go?

And Kat I'm sure you said but things have been slipping my mind left and right, what happened to the shin?

Not looking forward to going to work tomorrow, my boss found out I'm looking for a new job and decided to yell at me about it in front of my coworkers. I wish she could understand I can't live off how little my place pays and that I need better benefits. Instead she sees me leaving as a pain because it means she'll have to hire someone new and doesn't get that had she fought for more money for me I might have stuck around.

Off to bed for me. I am closer to Kelly's schedule I think thanks to my working the night shift. Went in at 10:00pm yesterday and am now just getting home at 12:45pm. What is wrong with this picture?

Time for some much needed sleep. Catch you all later this evening.

Paula- I don't know how you're doing it, I couldn't keep up that schedule! Hope you got some sleep today.

Jo- How was your day?

So another chat with the doctor today and a trip to get some chest xrays. The doctor is now thinking is whooping cough. Keeping my fingers crossed for a better diagnoses then that when I call for results tomorrow.

Hi everybody! I'm home! :goodvibes

Weekend was great. Fair was fun. Being totally unplugged for 4 days was amazing. I totally enjoyed it (missed you guys though!) A few pics on FB for those who are interested.....I ate too much, slept to little, didn't exercise at all, unless you count the constant walking/standing I was doing.

It finally rained yesterday. It has been months since it's rained here. We got soaked while breaking down/cleaning up but no one complained. Everyone was just so thankful for the rain that we didn't care if we were shivering cold soaked to the bone :goodvibes

This week promises to be a tad crazier than I had originally anticipated, with me going back to work, kids visits to the Dr. (both Nate & Becca), dentist, eye dr and oral surgeon (Nate wisdom teeth), back to school shopping AND my husband who never leaves the house has to go to the home office for a couple of days. I'm not sure where the "me" time is going to come in yet. <sigh>

Meg - whooping cough? Ugh... Hoping that whatever it is, that the treatment is quick and easy. Feel better!

Nancy - glad to hear that the fair was so fun. Saw the pics and the cake is too cute! Oh and the goats - love them all.

Jo - don't get discouraged. With each run you are getting stronger. Stick with it and don't give up on yourself so easily.

Hi Kelly, Ronda, EE and everyone else.

Day 2 of nights is half way over. My stomach is all sorts if screwed up and I haven't quite mastered what to eat when yet. The good news is that I am working out after work so that is a good thing. Have to keep some sort of normalcy right?

Sleep well team!

Meg... I hope the doc fixes you up this time.

Paula, I am not going to give up....! How much longer on nights for you?

Nancy, Love the pics on face book. Looks like everyone had a great time!

As for me. I did 4 miles on Saturday and nothing Sunday or Monday
I have just been busy wth back to school, and working from home. I am back at the office today. I hope for a run after work.

Both Alexa an Alaina started school yesterday. The parents stayed at school for the half day. They had mass and a first day of school fest. Today will be the first day Alaina has to go to stay at school on her own. I miss her already.:sad2:

Whooping Cough??? :scared1: Now there's something you don't hear every day. Whatever you have, I hope they get it figured out soon Meg.

As for me. I did 4 miles on Saturday and nothing Sunday or Monday

My last workout was last Thursday. Yes. Last Thursday. I feel dis.gust.ing. :crazy2: Between the fair chaos and having to be at work early this morning to do a catered luncheon I've done zippo. I'm off to the eye doc with Nate in a few minutes here, then to run some of my zillion and a half errands that need to be done.

where is that normalcy you were referring to Paula? 'Cause I could use some right now

Nancy, this is not normal for you??? :lmao: :rotfl2:

Had a good lunch of grilled chicken salad, (made it myself)

then some now followed by M&M :rolleyes1

WOW, where is everyone???

I am in a total funk. I don't know if its PMS or what.
I am home with Alaina and I don't really have to work today, I should be on the treadmill, elliptical or something. But I don't want to do crap.

Whats with me

Nancy, this is not normal for you??? :lmao: :rotfl2:

chaos? Yes, that is totally normal for me

I went to the gym this morning for the first time in what seems like ages! A bit of elliptical time and some light strength work for me. I need to ease my body back into this stuff slowly. I'm not as young as I used to be ya know :rolleyes1 I'm almost looking forward to starting to run again. Sick, I know, since I really don't like running.

It's dentist appts and then some more back-to-school shopping for us this afternoon. And lots of house work. The clutter is starting to consume me :headache:

I got off my butter pants and went for a 2.5 mile walk pushing Alaina in the stroller, and not a jogging stroller.
43 mins.

Then had lunch, Garilic Chicken Lean Pocket & Chips, Sweet Tea & Mini Snickers
I know class A diet!:lmao:

Good Morning... lol

Just starting the day and getting ready for work. Ugh - night shifts are so not fun and truly wreck havoc on your body. This week has been all about survival. Two more to go and I am back to the land of sunshine. I can't wait.

Jo - whoo hoo on getting up and going for a walk this morning!

Meg - how is the cough doing?

Hi to everyone else!

Off to get the day started...

Hi Goddesses!

I have 2 days left to find 11 more new trainees. Agh!!! The agencies are sending nobody to us. Nada! We sent out a mayday to the entire company this morning. We now have 3 pending interviews tomorrow. Who the flip knows if they are qualified?!? I'm so ready for vacation!

I hope everybody is doing ok!

Hello goddesses! I feel like a cloud is starting to lift from around me. The doctor told me that she's almost positive that I had whooping cough. She gave me antibiotics and when I asked her about my exhaustion she said it was a result of the cough and with time/rest it would get better. Today I felt more myself then I have in weeks! Still definitely not 100% but taking the steps towards it.

I went on my first run since I got sick about three weeks ago. I did 30 minutes on the treadmill(it's been pouring rain here.) I felt pretty good, just felt good to be in my workout clothes and getting moving again. Unfortunately due to my illness my quest for doing a race a month for a year almost got crushed. Lucky for me I found a 5k that is Sunday morning. It won't be my fastest race ever but I won't ruin my goal of 12 races in 12 months.

Nancy- Checked out your pictures on facebook, looked like everyone had a good time. I got the latest Oriental Trading Company catalog at work today and they just started producing party supplies for 4H parties, it made me think of you.

Paula- I hope you survive these night shifts! I can only imagine how much they can throw off your schedule.

Jo- Good for you, getting out for a walk! You've got to fit in what you can when you can, at least you got moving.

Aimee- Hope you guys get some qualified people soon. Do you have a pre-trip report going? hmmm Either way your trip isn't too far away!

As for me weight wise, I gained about 5 pounds in the past three weeks. I'll be honest it could have been a whole lot worse. So my plan is to weigh myself tomorrow morning just to see where I am and then my goal will be to loose 13 pounds by the start of October. I'm rededicating myself to this now that I'm on the road to being healthy again. I feel like something clicked inside me and I'm ready to be on again.

Oh off to bed. Now that I have some energy back I'm ready to finally share a little about my San Francisco trip because it sure was an interesting trip. So its coming tomorrow!

Night all!
