In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

Keep going with the mantra, Paula! Awesome!

And Nancy--yeah, that is just a *touch* crazy! :lmao: But I can't blame you! Awesome job on the run! And I am getting ready to head out shortly.

Morning all.

On the juice. I have a hard time getting any fruits into my diet, so this is my way of trying to do that. I love my fruit juice, but really don't enjoy munching down on an apple. I figure this is my next best bet. And healthier than a cup of coffee with my breakfast. I make sure to buy the 100% fruit juice with no added sugars, and the small ones I drink are around 100-140 calories.

Last night I hung out with a friend from high school after school(I am doing the wedding cake for her mom this weekend) and we were looking through old high school year books. Wow. It was so humbling to see just how much I have changed, good and bad. I remember in high school being unhappy with my weight; I was always chunky, but looking back, I really looked very good and would love to look like that again. It was a big motivator for me to say okay let's get this under control. One step at a time. I really just need to start mapping those steps out for myself so I can fix one problem at a time. Things with family and work and school and my business are so overwhelming right now, so it feels a little daunting trying to undertake anything else, and I think that's why I've been letting myself fall flat on my face. It's been an excuse for me. I have to get over that. Have to. This will never ever change without me pushing myself.

My goal today-drink nothing but water! I have been indulging on the sodas and a lot of other junk lately, and not nearly enough water. So I am committing to nothing but water and to drink two of my water bottles or more today. And for lunch from the cafeteria, to either get something from the fresh deli, or salad bar. No grill.

I hope everyone is having a great day and good luck on your goals. You can do it!!!!:cheer2:

Nancy - strange but also since Chad and I split - used to the kids not always being with me for holidays so not as bad as it could be I suppose.

Paula - Yes dorms are closed as of Monday morning - that's why he is going to split his stay with friends.

Yes - he is transferring for sure. (Unless he is given a huge scholarship and he finds out the interim coach is not given the head job for sure - so there is always a maybe I suppose.) Hates the coach and is excited about leaving for that reason. They are ranked #1 in the country right now and Treyner said that even if he was asked to stay - he would not want to play for the coach which speaks volumes. The coach inherited a team the old coach developed - Treyner feels that the way the interim coach treats the underclassmen is horrendous and many kids are leaving.

Treyner is leaving at semester because the coach will not tell the red-shirt freshman who is staying or not till Christmas - been stringing them along since August. Again - each semeester is about $18,000 since he is paying out of state and Treyner said it is not worth it to pay that to stay. If he is not picked - he cannot practice with the team and thus would have 6 months of no soccer. Not good to transfer into another school with that lack of training.

Anyway - beyond stressful - it just stinks.

Treyner just got off the phone with Anderson and the coach just called me. They want him to not bother flying there and spending $1,000 for a 3 day recruiting session when they know they want to look at him and he wants to look at them.

So he is going to transfer there and start school in January. This way the coach chance to evalutae Treyner and Treyner have a chance to see coaching style thee etc. more than at one practice, really have a cgive him a good eval and maybe Treyner wil play spring soccer. He would loose his NCAA eligibility to play spring soccer his senior year but would still have 4 years of fall soccer.

Worst case scenario is Treyner hates the school, they do not like Treyner and then Treyner can play at Dana for sure in the fall. It seems like a great solution. The only downside is Treyner moving 26 hours acccross the US from his current life and showing up there never seeing the campus besides online. I would be a basket case. Treyner is excited. I am so proud of his willing to try things.

So I will be in overdrive getting all his paperwork together to transfer. At least he has a place and we have some direction.

Now Nancy - I am totally depresses about Thanksgiving. :headache: Oh well, Christmas is soon enough!

Well, it has been a struggle, but I have had a good food day. Scratch that, a great food day. Ate very healthy and stayed within my range. I've had a couple of weeks of "ok days" but this is the first one where I have really hit it out of the park. But wow, not easy. Yet. I've been eating too much (not poorly, though--still all good choices) for too long and the scale started going in the wrong direction. So back on board and time to get the last pesky pounds off.

I got in a wet five miles last night. It was around 40. I think the rain will be gone tomorrow morning. Another four miles.

We're making plans to go to St Louis this weekend. DGF's family is getting together for a Thanksgiving meal. Her oldest brother will be there. It's been a long time since he's been home. It will be nice for her mom to have all five of them there.

E - good job on the food. Take credit for great when it is!

I ate pretty well today. Salad, apple and some carrots/dip in the afternoon. Salmon, asparagus and rice for dinner. All chased by a skinny cow. Mmmm.

I am hoping for a decent night's sleep tonight. I was awakened around 1:00 by a pillow thief and never got back in the groove. It's kind of sweet. Our cat has really warmed to us in the last few months. Previously he got all the love he needed from our other cat. After we put Renny down Flick slowly started to want to be with us. Mind you, we cannot swoop down and pick him up. He comes to us on his terms and when we seem most harmles. Those times are apparently when we are under the covers and seated on the toilet. It never fails that he nudges the door open.

Dawn - Good for Treyner. Huge move and it sounds like he knows what he wants. Great that Anderson said save your money.

Nancy - enjoy Seth.

Paula - glad you're pain free. give it another day. shoes.

Kelly - I have itinerary envy!

Cathie - a fruit suggestion... frozen grapes. Really.

Ronda

Dawn--wishing Treyner luck as he moves south! Is there a reason he chose Anderson? It's a very sweet school (also Division II like Fort Lewis)...but just wondering why this Division II school when there are so many to choose from? Is he (and are you) aware that it is pretty right-wing Christian? I know the Christian part is fine with you, but it is very conservative (ie: No co-ed road trips to the City of Sin with scantily clad co-eds. :lmao:) Does he know for sure that he will play? Or does he have to make the team?

Treyner is excited. I am so proud of his willing to try things.

wow. Complicated. I'd be a mess.

Go you! Nice to be getting back in the swing of things, isn't it!

Holy dedication! Nice job Ronda! :thumbsup2

Tomorrow morning is my beating with Erin. I'm a bit scared quite frankly. She went to a conference this weekend and now has a whole new arsenal of tricks :scared:

Good Morning Everyone!

Well im packed and ready to go! Im just about to leave the house to see my Mum before I go to the airport for my flight to London!

So Excited! :cool1:

Have a great week everyone :lovestruc

Have an awesome trip Kelly!!:yay:

I'm up and out earlish myself. Off to the gym, then work, then a Holiday Marketplace with my soap. I won't likely be back till late tonight.

And tomorrow. My road trip to Vermont. ;)

And (you get all my random disconnected thoughts this morning. Aren't you all lucky!) Last night I consented to take 3 freshman girls to see Shinedown, Train, Uncle Kracker, Aaron Lewis (Staind) & Five for Fighting :scared:

Have a good one everyone :hippie:

Good Morning!
I feel really good and am heading to water aerobics this morning! I am excited and then to Trader Joes for some grocery shopping.

E - great questions about Treyner. He did know they were a conservative Christian school and he is going in pretty blind obviously to the rest as he has not set foot on campus. His faith in the a lpot right now comes from talking with the coach and undertsanding his coaching style and what he wants. He is talking with a few players tonight via phone and also with the graphics profs.

He and I spent probably over 30 hours again looking at schools in the past 2 months. Hard to find a good soccer program, young team, team that needs a goalie and also has graphic art/design or also a few other things he may choose to major in since we all know majors can change. We started with looking at the ranks of the top 20 NCAA Division II teams each week and researching everybody.

Treyner wanted to leave the RMAC conference since he had seen the level of paly and met with many coaches all season. Did not want to be in the same conference as Fort Lewis. Liked Anderson's conference because it was more competitive. Usually has 4 schools in the top 20 versus Fort Lewis had 2. There was a school in WI that wanted him but he does not want to be in Wisconsin. He liked the fact that a huge percent of the team has international players of all races. Most schools did not have graphic art/design at all. Most schools were huge not smaller like Anderson and Fort Lewis and then it also came to money.

Anderson has been ranked in money magazine polls as one of the top affordable Universities in the US. They are about $8,000 cheaper right off the bat from Fort Lewis, will give him $5,000 a year for being out of state and just being a transfer student will get him $3500 a year. So before he begins - it has cut his FLC tuition in half regardless of soccer scholarship. He will have to earn a spot like anyone else but he also could travel to a few other schools in the area he contimplated and look at them if he does not like it there for any reason.

If they do not like him/he does not like them - he has another experience under his belt and will head to Dana in NE for a full ride in the fall. He is in a no lose situation right now because Dana is a for sure and he would rather not play NAIA if he can make a NCAA team. This way he has been in training at least for another semester versus if he was not kept at FLC, he would have bot been allowed to practice all spring. He has not been officialy cut by FLC - he is just in limbo and disslikes the coaching so much he is choosing to leave them. Not the practicing because he still is working out 3-4 hours a day with them - just the coaching.

As far as co-eds - they were in Las Vegas - he did not leave with them and whatever he experiences there with different points of view will be part of his maturing I guess. He did not expect to find racist rant and hatred in the middle of Colorado and has been in a few places he said made him ashamed of the human race so he is prepared that he is heading south and some people may choose to think different from himself. More so than Minnesota prepared him for sure.

His girlfriend is older - 21 and she needs next year to finish her last year as a 5th year senior due to transfering to FLC. She wants to become an attorney and work in the professional sports arena as right now. If they last, she is looking at schools in SC to see what is available. She is different than his usual picks, I actually think he is maturing in the girl department and that has me relieved! Her family lives on a ranch 40 minutes from Durango and he has met them on several occasions. In fact he is working for her Dad right now who lost his artist and creating new ideas for designs for his t-shirts and other merchandise for his company. (He owns a very successfull guitar string company.)

He described her as smart and easy to have a converstaion with when I asked him what she is like. Then went on to say 10 other things that had nothing to do with looks like driven, head on straight and down to earth. I about passed out. So we will see. She is comming here prior to New Years I believe.

She has to pass the Carsyn test! :lmao:

Pic of Halloween - Treyner went as Ace Ventura! :lmao:

Good morning!

KELLY! Have a great trip! Can't wait to hear all about it!!! So excited for you!

Nancy--yup, tis' this season for you! And tomorrow you get Seth back! :cool1:

I hate chaotic mornings and today was just that. First, we found last night at 9pm via e-mail that it is Flat Stanley time again. Which means that addresses have to be submitted today! God help the parents who don't check their e-mail all the time like I do. So of course Kelly was asleep by then, so this morning I had to ask her where she wants Flat Stanley sent. I gave her the following options...

Ohio, Indiana, New Jersey, upstate NY, Florida, Connecticut....see where I'm going here? (Don't worry Kat, notice I didn't even list NC! ;) ) So who wants him? Who love little craft projects? And has a little one just about Kelly's age that would like to do it? And lives in Ohio? (Just kidding, Lyz, don't feel obligated). Seriously though, anyone who wouldn't mind doing the whole Flat Stanley thing, please let me know because I need to get the address to the school today. And of course we will return the favor in Maine if need be.

The rest of the chaos this morning all took place in the bus hut. OMG, how I hate bus hut drama. So stupid. And normally my kids aren't involved at all--they just sit there and hang out and wait for the bus. But there are these 2 girls (sisters) who just stir the pot and this morning Riley just snapped and then I had to intervene and...oy. Not a fun way to start the day. Between Flat Stanley and the bus hut I am already done!

Hope everyone else's day gets off to a better start! :goodvibes

I hope it works out for Treyner so he doesn't have to bounce around any more!

Erika - count me in for Flat Stanley should Kelly choose upstate NY. She has her pick of places that he can visit. The Capitol, Saratoga, Lake George, etc. I am happy to oblige and am even a bit crafty.

Kelly - have a great trip!!! Safe travels my friend.

Nancy - try not to go too crazy. I really like Five for Fighting so at least that part of the show should be good. Not sure about some of the others though. Have fun with that. Can't wait to hear about Erin's new tricks. But most importantly - have fun with Seth this week!!!

Ronda - you ran in the rain outside in 40 degree temps. So not worthy... :worship:

Dawn - yikes to be going through that kind of turmoil related to college. Yikes!

Its Thursday so that is my busy day at work for me. Still trying to avoid the cafeteria (those cookies are not good for me...) as I need to go through my peanut butter chip cookie detox program. JC weigh in is tonight. Don't have much hope for anything more than an eh outcome on the weighin, but am looking for a serious kick in the bummocks in the motivation department.

Have a great day everyone. What goal are you setting for yourself today?

Wow, where is everyone today? We aren't usually this slow!

I am happy to say that I dusted off my Goddess crown and it is now firmly in place! Tracking, totally ON, house is clean, dinner is prepped, work is caught up, and getting ready for a run. Goddess status, totally.

E - I just told Treyner about your info on conservative Christian and Anderson and no more scantily clad women in Sin City.

He giggled and then told me to pass on this:

"Those girls were Mormon so you never know."

:lmao::rotfl::rotfl2:
I think you made his day!

Nice and easy 4-miler, done. :goodvibes 4 -6 miles is my favorite distance. I did 6 on Sunday, so I am not ready for another long run yet. This week-end I will aim for 8 miles. Time to build that distance WAY up.

And might I say that your Goddess crown is looking fabulous on you!!!!

Not much to report here. I have not had any peanut butter chip cookies today (a huge victory), I am looking forward to my JC appointment and today's encounters with the State Police is less than yesterday's. Life is good!

oh and don't worry, my encounters with the State Police are all professional and work related :rotfl2:
