In Search of My Body - Not the One I Ate, VOL 7! Princesses? Nope, just us Goddesses!

My dearest Erka,

I simply don't care if you're busy having the time of your life - loving your legal - as opposed to "summer" and " jogging path" - husband and having a ball with your angelic hysterically funny children - sipping yet another cocktail.

I am living off your TRs. Please feed the beast. :flower3:

WORD :lmao:

Bah. Lisa - you wrote in a quote. Can't requote. Guess I musta missed the weight losses. I've just been so wrapped up in my own busy little life. So sorry:flower3:

Hi gang...

Sorry for my 'hiding' mode today. I have been lost in way too many thoughts that I have been struggling to deal with it all. Nothing major, just some stuff from work and some stuff going on in my head trying to process some of the thoughts I shared last night. Trying to accept and celebrate my sucess, but it is still a struggle. I am all right though. Just need to work through this and all.

I am reading and following though. Just one comment though:

Dawn - don't be ashamed of who you are. Dan loves you. He wants to marry you no matter what you look like. If you want to lose weight, do it because you want to not because you want to be size xx on your wedding day. The loss will be so much more meaningful if you do it for you.

Hugs...

Forgot to mention

Lisa - whoo hoo on the BL loss!!!

Kelly - whoo hoo on your loss as well!!!

First - I went to the Y and walked 30 minutes and did not die and will do it again tom morning because I have a party tom night. Go to Y at 7:30 after dropping off Baylor at school. Ask me when I log in tom K.

#2 I ate very well and in a good range today.
1476 calories (1200-1550)
176 Carbs (163-236)
61 Fat (32-56)
56 Protein (60-127)

Trying to get the balance down will be the key. That is one thing I like about Sparkpeople. I see the pie charts of my food and how it is broken up for the day and I see a graph of prgress of meeting goals. It is very visual and I love that. Today is the first day that my pie chart actually looked like a pie not a monstrous piece for snacking and dinner.

Still need to drink another 16 oz of water to have even my 8 glasses in. I really do drink better out of bottles. (There's a quote for the Tag Fairies! Ha ha!) It seems I drink faster from a smaller opening than when from a glass so I need to start using a darn water bottle versus a glass.

Nancy - Carsyn is a Junior as well - so we will be in the same boat together in a few years. She is already talking senior pics! :scared1:

Nancy & Lisa - The wedding and my weight is strictly about what I want to look like. I was 7 months pregnant with Treyner when Chad and I got married. No dress, no nothing and I felt nothing like a bride.

I had whacked my hair a few months before so I was sporting a Dorthy Hamil short hair do and a belly. We did not have a photographer and the only pic I had from that day up in a frame was a blown up 5x7 my grandma took.

I love pictures and want one of my wedding day to Dan. I want to have a picture hanging that I am proud of not hate myself in - not one I pass daily that I want to throw down the hall. I do not expect perfect weight - just at a weight I can say I look okay in. I would be satisfied at 160 even though it is a long way from goal. I looked at pics of myself at that weight and I could admit I did not look bad which is a big improvement.

I met the man of all my dreams and I want to marry him and feel good about myself inside and out. I know Dan would marry me today or tom or next year no matter what. I though, want to make a promise to him that day that we will live healthier for each other and ourselves and that a priority is we can still have a long life together.

Dan and I both have a family history of health problems attributed to weight and I do not want a life of that in our future if we can help it. I want my wedding day to be a sign of commitment to him for a better me in all aspects. Weight is a big part of that.

Plus - I went to a bridal place and tried on dresses and it was painful. Some of us know the limmitations of shopping in the big girl areas for normal clothes - well that is a picnic in the park compared to wedding dress shopping in the chubster section. The lady tried to put a tiara on me and it looked like it was sitting on top of Mrs. Potato Head! :scared1:

Not sure if that made sense.

My hair BTW - looks great! Good day...Good day...:worship:

[A sad reality is, we are cruelest to those we are closest to. We'll say and do things to our loved ones that we would never consider doing to a complete stranger.

OMG, so much to say about this, but of course don't have the time. I say this all the time. People, like my husband for instance, has the capability of being in a horrible mood and when he has to deal with some insiginficant to his life (a cashier at the store...anyone he doesn't consider a friend, etc.) he has the ability to rise above his foulness and be polite. Yet when it is the people he loves? OM, we get all of the ugliness.

OMG. Between her poses. Look at the cars pose - what is with that child?!?!?!?!?!?!? :lmao::rotfl::lmao:

Back at it - between her poses and her quick brain she's killin' me. I'm still not over "I don't need alone time like Riley and Cammie". I swear to you - your children have been such a source of smiles and laughter this week.

Ummm Erika - I KNOW there is a competent photographer in the bunch that starts with a "C" - pics of you and them please. Geez!!! Don't make me phone my new mama. :lmao::lovestruc

So sorry about the camera. Crossing my fingers.

Glad you are getting such enjoyment out of her!

Ah, that's the million dollar question isn't it. Seriously. Never been content in my own skin and I had a very happy childhood. :confused3

Ditto. Word. Even though it has been 10 years, this just "feel like me."

Well, I'm not going to disagree with you. People can eat what they want and lose weight too. But you do have to burn more calories than you eat. I think the majority of dieters find that eating better is easier than finding more time to exercise. There are 24 hours in the day. Majority of which are taken. You are going to eat, no matter what. Change what you can.

Not personalizing this at all.

Oh for crying outloud you two. I just came to edit. :lmao::rotfl::lmao: So not fair. I only went to my TV room. :lovestruc;)

Listen, there is something beyond calories in and calories out. There is. There really is. I don't care what Jillian says. Otherwise I don't believe I would have this weight off. And despite the joking - it's documented. It's reworking your body's furnace so to speak. Changing its composition. I believe that is what I've done. I could not have lost this weight on calories in and calories out. It never would have worked for me. I never go beyond an hour of exercise. Never. One book I like on this is called Fit or Fat

Jean is fit. She doesn't work out like a demon. She doesn't. And she absolutely eats crap at times. It's not all genetics. It's how her body deals with food.

You know my frustration comes from hating some ways of North America Lyz. That's my anger. We are so focused on food in the strangest ways. So strange. So very very strange.

I just LOVE FOOD. And I don't mean LOVE FOOD in the addict way. I mean I see it as a blessing. To nourish and to be such a wonderful part of life. And I don't feel like NA is my place. I hate that way natural daily exercise isn't looked at - This is nothing to do with this thread but I feel food gets so demonized. I need to move.

And once again - I need to point out that I love a lot of healthy food and I eat it every day. I so don't want to be taken incorrectly. I'm so overly emotiona these last couple of days. My Lord.

WORD.

Wow! You look great. No wonder the fellows were checking you out.

GOOD MORNING GODDESSES!!!!!

EriKa!!! Where the heck is my trip report installment?!?!?!

I know, I know...I am behind! and I might not get Epcot's up today either!

Seriously, people. I got super busy and it was only a PAGE???? The heck??? :lmao:

Cathie - nice pics!

Kelly, Lisa, Kat, Paula - Weigh to go!!!

Erika - TR. PLEASE?

Lisa - Taped it, let's see what it was!

Ronda - You are cracking me up lately! Loving all your posts!

Nancy, Dawn - I can only imagine my kid being that age! Oy!

DAWN - Listen to everyone - DON'T MAKE IT ABOUT YOUR WEIGHT. You at this exact weight - that's not failure. Okay? That's not something to hate.

Let's not hate any part of ourselves, okay? The good and bad, it's all there for a reason, it's all stuff we can change. And weight? OMG, it's only weight. Love is SO much bigger than we think we look!

Use the wedding as motivation, but make the changes for you, because you are ready. If you are. And if you're not, fine. One day you will be. It doesn't have to be today.

Now, if you are ready, embrace it and all that stuff that comes with it - like Cathie is finding, the emotional work. Awesome stuff. Hard as heck, but good in the end. I promise. (As I am totally doing that work now!)

Okay have been trying to post this all day but for some reason both my work and home computer are being ridiclous so here's the synopsis without the quotes lol.

Dawn-I have to tell you that I understand this, in an odd, weird way. For me, I have always been a heavey girl. And so in my head, I've always thought "I will finally be pretty once I become skinny." And I have the same fear in a more general way. What about when I lose the weight? What then? Will I start trying to fix other outward things about myself? I have a crooked nose; will I start obsessing about that? I'm trying more and more to remember that a lot of beauty comes from the inside. And I know it's cliche. I know it sounds silly. But it's true. If I don't believe I am beautiful now, how I look on the outside is not going to change that. Ever. I can be 100 pounds or 300 pounds, and unless I believe I'm beautiful at any given time, my attitude won't change when the scale does.

I think as women with weight to lose, we always keep that perpetual "when" in mind. Although we all here know we will lose the weight at some point, imagine if you didn't. You couldn't go around life thinking you are not pretty.

So I guess, in a roundabout way, my advice is to figure out that you ARE beautiful, Dawn. No matter what the scale says. And that's something that takes work to own. The scale dropping may just make you feel like you will look better to the rest of the world, but YOU are the only person/thing that will ever decide whether or not you are beautiful. Not a scale, not a husband, not the world. Just you.

Sorry, not sure if this helps at all. Just spewing I guess. ;)

It's an uphill battle. I'm still in it.

On Treynor:I'm glad you had a good visit. And I feel for ya. I don't have kids, and I'm not that far off from your son's age, so I can't pretend to know how you feel, but I do understand that it's got to be terribly hard. Just remember one day at a time and eventually, hopefully it will get easier.

Cathie - nice pics!

Thanks!!!!! :flower3:

Now, if you are ready, embrace it and all that stuff that comes with it - like Cathie is finding, the emotional work. Awesome stuff. Hard as heck, but good in the end. I promise. (As I am totally doing that work now!)

Emotional work. Ugh. yeah. Hard. Not awesome now, but hopefully will be, one day. One day. :)

Cathie - WOWZA! Love the pic's. Yep - I can see why the guys were oggling you! As for the girls playing peek-a-boo? As one of the "have nots" :rolleyes1 I say if you have 'em, well, might as well flaunt 'em! :goodvibes

Thanks again! :flower3: I'm happy to have them, I'd just like a little less of them. What would you get if you divided an H cup in half? I'm pretty sure I could share half and still be well-endowed haha! Stinkin things kill my back, but I have to admit, I love the way they look in these pictures :rolleyes1:rotfl:

So today was a lot of....uh....what did Liz call it? Ah yes. Emotional work.

Empowerment indeed. It's what I sorely need to teach myself right now. Because I am not making that choice to not let myself be affected by all of this. Tonight was full of alot of what made yesterday hard, and then some. And then alot. To the point that I am questioning the things that I thought were good about me as a person. It's just not healthy. Have to make the choice....have to make the choice.

So. In an effort to brighten my spirits (so that I can perhaps think a little clearer) I decided to start my trip report :) Hope you guys are ready for pictures because, well, there's a lot of them. And lots that I thought were cool and artsy-fartsy (as Carlos calls it) when I took them and now kind of scratch my head at:confused3

So. AHEM! Next post from me will contain Day 1. Flight from Denver to Orlando and official start of the vacation!

Good Afternoon (morning!) Everyone!

Dawn - don't be ashamed of who you are. Dan loves you. He wants to marry you no matter what you look like. If you want to lose weight, do it because you want to not because you want to be size xx on your wedding day. The loss will be so much more meaningful if you do it for you.

Hugs...

Dawn - This is the best advice! I couldn't say it better if I tried.

Thank you everyone for the woohoo's on the weight loss. Finally I feel like things are heading in the right direction. Im still loving the gym, even though it kills me on a regular basis! Tonight is the first class of Aqua Aerobics! :scared1:

Im both nervous and excited:

Nervous:
Being in a bathing costume in public - what if I scare a small child!
Nervous for trying new exercise - what if I cant do it!
My clumsiness means there is a VERY real chance I will either drown or drown someone else accidentally :rotfl:

Excited:
Being in a bathing costume in public - its a big step forward for me and maybe, just maybe, I will look ok in it!
Trying new exercise - I just might rock at it!
Being in water might just help with my balance better than being on solid ground! :rotfl:

Im trying daily to have a more confident attitude, which is why I am nervous and excited about the same things. However, I have just sent a text to DH which said 'Im going to kick a$$ at that class tonight' and he sent one back saying 'Yes you will, you'll be able to teach the class in 6months time' which was nice (if not a little optimistic - I dont want to teach it!:lmao:!) He has the confidence in me to do anything and im just about getting it in myself!

So, after that babble I will get back to work! :rotfl:

Have a great day everyone :upsidedow

ALMOST woke up the thread. Dangit! :)

Tired today. It's cold here, but at least it's not snowing like it was yesterday.

Went shopping at the cake shop yesterday, man, I could spend so much money in this place. They have everything a little baker like me could want :goodvibes Had to keep it limited and let me tell you; it was HARD!

Hope everyone has a wonderful day!

I know, I know...TWO days behind on my TR! I will get there, I promise!

Today is our last full day here--sad! It is our resort day. We are going to go to DTD and do some shopping (leaving in a few minutes) and then spend all afternoon lounging by the pool. We may hop into Epcot for F&W for dinner...or not. Playing that one by ear.

Have a great day!

Awww sorry to hear that it is your last day! Those are always the most sad! Hope you guys are having a fantastic time though!

Tuesday – Magic Kingdom

Big day, big day! Of course, this is THE park for my kids and all of us. Jeff had to work again today, so it was just me and the kids. My only opportunity to run today was first thing in the morning, before everyone woke up. So that is what I did. Got 4 miles in at 6:30! Actually, if felt great and it was pain free! BONUS.

Kids really wanted to be at MK for rope drop, so this was NOT a strolling, meandering morning. We had bad bus karma, so we made it just for the last 5 minutes of the opening rope drop show. It was ok—the kids were glad just to get there that early.

008-2.jpg

Before I go into specifics, I just have to say that this was without question the best MK day we have ever had. EVER. First, the weather. Perfect. Mid-70s and no humidity. OMG, so comfortable all day. Secondly—empty park! We had the elusive crowd level 3 day! WOO HOO! There are only about 5 or 6 days each year when the MK is a crowd level three and we happened to hit one. Let me put it this way—ALL of the FP kiosks were closed. You didn’t need a FP for any ride all day. Everything was a walk-on, and I mean everything. We did every ride that we wanted to and did most many times over.

In fact, here is a ride list for the day:

Peter Pan (2x)
Pooh (2x)
Snow White
Tea Cups (3x—kids only! I watched!)
Cinderella’s Carousel
Small World
Goofy’s Barnstormer (4x)
Big Thunder Mountain (5x—yes, you read that right)
Splash Mountain (3x)
Haunted Mansion
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
TTA (2x)
Buzz Lightyear

Phew! Yeah, it was pretty incredible. Now for the specifics:

We booked it straight back to Fantasyland, as always. I know that one day we will not even enter this part of the park, so I love spending time there now. If you don’t believe me about the crowd levels, just look at the Tea Cup ride. You will note that my kids have the ride to themselves! Which is why they did it 3x in a row.

018-1.jpg

021-1.jpg

Somehow we missed Philharmagic. I just plain ol forgot! Which bums me out because I love that attraction. (Kat—What does this ride DO?? I don’t know, but I have a Fastpass for it…)

We made it to ToonTown the first second it opened (it opens an hour later than the rest of the park for those that don’t hang out there). Our normal plan is to go right to Barnstormer and be the firsts ones on it of the day. But knowing that the crowds were light and knowing that we were among the first in TT, we went to see what the line for Pixie Hollow was like. The kids have been DYING to meet Tink since she became a full-sized character. Big score—15 minute wait! Seriously, this line gets to 90-120 minutes within an hour of it opening. So we waited! OMG, it is SO cute. There are 3-4 faries back in Pixie Hollow and they all play games with you and talk and just have a great time. It is definitely more of an attraction as opposed to just having your pics taken. (Note: these are just the pics off my iPhone. I took lots with Cam’s camera but I can’t download those yet. I used my iPhone just for this TR!) Here are the kids with Iridessa (yellow), Tink, and Terrence (the boy fairy).

022-1.jpg

025-1.jpg

026-1.jpg

030.jpg

Once we had met the faries, we were finally off to Barnstormer. We rode it so many times that they gave us each a Frequent Flyer Card, which the kids thought was hilarious. Some scenes from the Barnstormer:

032.jpg

034-1.jpg

035-2.jpg

036.jpg

At this point it was about 10:30 and we had already done 14 rides (this includes all of the multiple trips)! That is a record, even by our standards. So it was time to leave this part of the park and head to Frontierland. Both of the mountains were walk-ons, so we decided to start with Big Thunder since it was early and not that hot yet. So we did it three times in a row. My kids will forever be spoiled by this MK day. Example—each time we got to through the cue, there was an empty train there just waiting for people. When I say it was a walk-on, I mean just that. We didn’t even have to wait to board the ride. The third time, however, there was no train waiting, so we had to wait for one to return. Like maybe 2 minutes. And Kelly started to complain! “This is taking forever!!” OMG, it was shocking and hilarious at the same time!

After three times on this, we went next door to Splash. Great time and didn’t get soaked! Kids wanted to do it again right then, but I persuaded them to come back later since it was close to lunch time and I didn’t want to risk sitting in the restaurant soaking wet.

On our way to lunch, we hit the HM. The kids LOVE to pose like they are scared—

038-2.jpg

040.jpg

Lunch was at the Plaza, always just the right thing! Sandwiches and ice cream (for the kids) for dessert. Right at the castle, inexpensive, and good. While dining, we were greeted by the Mayor, and the kids thought he was hilarious. Got a photo with him, but it is on the camera.

After lunch, we made our way over to TomorrowLand. Walked on to Buzz and then had a quick pic with him since there was no real line. We debated doing the Laugh Floor, but there was a 15 minute wait—and on a day like today, that seemed like an eternity! Lol So we rode the TTA instead.

049-1.jpg

050.jpg

Back to Adventureland to ride Pirates. On the way, we passed an empty Magic Carpets of Aladdin, so we rode it even though it is lame. Same with Jungle Cruise—it was right there waiting, so we hopped on. Eventually we made it to Pirates and walked on.

At this point, we had about an hour until parade time. So I gave them the option to do some new things (I was pushing for Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress…they all looked at me and broke out laughing as though I had told the funniest joke ever). Needless to say, we went back to do Big Thunder 2 more times and Splash 2 more times.

We got to our spot in Frontierland (in the shade) with about 2 minutes to spare. Yes, the park was that empty—didn’t need to get there ahead of time to get a shady spot. The new parade was ok. It was nice to see a new parade, but I liked the last one better. The parade warm-up CMs dragged Kelly out there to do some hula-hooping.

051.jpg

058-1.jpg

061.jpg

After the Parade, we went back to Tomorrowland to pick up Laugh Floor. At this point, it was almost 4 and the park was starting to fill up with Party-goers. So our day of an empty park was coming to a close. Laugh Floor now had a 25 minute wait, so we did TTA again (we all love it).

064.jpg

065.jpg

and then went to see the Castle Show. This is a really sweet show and should not be missed. Again, we got there a minute before it started and looked where the girls are sitting. No crowd at all.

077.jpg

080.jpg

089.jpg

We left the park at 4:15, happy but tired. The cooler weather was a God-send as it kept their energy levels up all day, but the girls were tired at this point. Had bad bus karma AGAIN, but made it home eventually.

But the day wasn’t over. Jeff got back to SSR right after we did and we had dinner reservations at Puck’s in DTD. I thought we would drive over, but since Jeff had been cooped up in meetings all day, he wanted to walk over. Normally we would do this without hesitation. It is only about a mile and there is a great path to DTD. But of course, I had already run 4 miles and walked at least 4 miles in the park. But, what’s 2 more miles? So we walked over, had a GREAT meal. This is one of the few times we disagree with Kevin. He has panned this restaurant twice, but it is always our best meal of the trip and this was no exception. LOVED it.

Finally, we DID enjoy a leisurely stroll back through DTD, making a quick stop at Ghiradelli’s for the free chocolate.

Today was our last day of getting up early—the next three days are all sleep in days!

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos!

Yes you're right. This is a big day. It's the sh!ttiest weather outside here and now we have the TR!!!! Yeah. :lovestruc

Such a great picture! Great picture. Question: I'm sure they do - they look like the three amigos - but do they ever fight? Remind me of the age spread again.

Before I go into specifics, I just have to say that this was without question the best MK day we have ever had. EVER. That's so lovely Erika. Big smile on that. Sighing. :flower3: First, the weather. Perfect. Mid-70s and no humidity. OMG, so comfortable all day. Secondly—empty park! We had the elusive crowd level 3 day! WOO HOO! There are only about 5 I was going to ask you why you think that is but I think I have the answer. It was a MNSSHP day. Is that what you think as well? That whoever was coming for that certainly wasn't going to pay a park day too. And those not coming to the party - without APs - were not going to use their park day and have it end early. or 6 days each year when the MK is a crowd level three and we happened to hit one. Let me put it this way—ALL of the FP kiosks were closed. You didn’t need a FP for any ride all day. Everything was a walk-on, and I mean everything. We did every ride that we wanted to and did most many times over. Fantastic. What a joy! I didn't think those kind of days existed anymore. Good to know.

In fact, here is a ride list for the day:

Peter Pan (2x)
Pooh (2x)
Snow White
Tea Cups (3x—kids only! I watched!)Why? You get dizzy?
Cinderella’s Carousel
Small World
Goofy’s Barnstormer (4x)
Big Thunder Mountain (5x—yes, you read that right)
Splash Mountain (3x)
Haunted Mansion Oh boy. I'm getting my picture!!:rotfl:
Pirates
Jungle Cruise
Magic Carpets of Aladdin
TTA (2x)
Buzz Lightyear

Jean sings through the entire ride and yells for Brer Rabbit to watch out. That - her singing and yelling - is a ride in itself. :surfweb:

On our way to lunch, we hit the HM. The kids LOVE to pose like they are scared—

Yeah!!!

Back to Adventureland to ride Pirates. On the way, we passed an empty Magic Carpets of Aladdin, so we rode it even though it is lame.Lame. :rotfl: Same with Jungle Cruise—it was right there waiting, so we hopped on. Eventually we made it to Pirates and walked on.

At this point, we had about an hour until parade time. So I gave them the option to do some new things (I was pushing for Hall of Presidents and Carousel of Progress…they all looked at me and broke out laughing as though I had told the funniest joke ever). Because it IS the funniest joke ever. What's wrong with you? Did your brain turn to mush on your run???? Needless to say, we went back to do Big Thunder 2 more times and Splash 2 more times. Nice choice. :thumbsup2

We got to our spot in Frontierland (in the shade) with about 2 minutes to spare. Yes, the park was that empty—didn’t need to get there ahead of time to get a shady spot. OMG. Really? Once again, what a day! The new parade was ok. It was nice to see a new parade, but I liked the last one better. The parade warm-up CMs dragged Kelly out there to do some hula-hooping.Are you positive that DRAGGED is a good choice of verb for this sentence. My God - the child loves people. Once again - were you like that?

After the Parade, we went back to Tomorrowland to pick up Laugh Floor. At this point, it was almost 4 and the park was starting to fill up with Party-goers. Must they interrupt your day? :lmao: So our day of an empty park was coming to a close. Laugh Floor now had a 25 minute wait, so we did TTA again (we all love it).

and then went to see the Castle Show. This is a really sweet show and should not be missed. Again, we got there a minute before it started and looked where the girls are sitting. No crowd at all.

I love that walk. I've done the SSR to OKW in the dark by myself as well. I figure who the hell sits there waiting for an idiotic woman to be walking that. Very peaceful. :lovestrucSo we walked over, had a GREAT meal. This is one of the few times we disagree with Kevin. He has panned this restaurant twice, but it is always our best meal of the trip and this was no exception. LOVED it.

I have to do it considering I live at WPE. LIVE at it. Sit downs are like an extravagance on our vacations - FOR NOW!!! But I so must since I adore WPExpress.

Finally, we DID enjoy a leisurely stroll back through DTD, making a quick stop at Ghiradelli’s for the free chocolate. My favourite part of a Disney vacation!;)

Today was our last day of getting up early—the next three days are all sleep in days!

Sorry for the poor quality of the photos!
