In Search of My Body....Not the One I ATE! Vol. 5: Goddesses are Always on Top!

Yeah, I think I need to move to Arizona or Texas or somewhere with a dryer and warmer climate. I think it would help my RA a lot. Sigh, I went to pick up my bottle of water at work yesterday and my right thumb came out of joint. Man, did that hurt. Ok, enough whining from me! :lmao:

Roddy, me, too. Not the thumb thing. But warmer would be nicer. But then, at least I don't have a need for a sled aka snowmobile!

And another thing. I can't stand Barbara Walters and the View! BW espically. Everyone thinks she's some pioneer but I think she's grossly inappropriate most of the time.

I hate her too, and completely agree with your assessment. And her accent! LORDY. SHUT IT OFF. YOU DON'T SOUND SMARTER.

Liz didn't confirm that fact yet. So don't go a boycotting yet.

I like to boycott stuff too. I've boycotted Best Buy for, hmmmm, 6 years now. It involved a kerokie machine. Just sayin'.

I will warm up the shin and stretch! Thanks. I don't have a bike. Can you recommend another warm up.

Tell me the story. I love a good boycott. Love it!

Yep. Those British ruled us. And we still have our governor general - the ear to the queen. Therefore, tea lives. But don't tell the Tim Horton's fanatics. They're fierce.

I love when I go to the States. Q: Hot tea?

Is there any other? :rotfl: :lmao:

Iced rules, eh?

Let it be known that my parents now adore coffee simply because of their travels through the States. They simply gave up getting better than lukewarm tea and and moved on to coffee.

Or Vinegar. I once had a California McDonald's employee scream in laughter at my friend asking for it. "Hey Bob, this girl wants vinegar. Whatcha gonna do clean the tables?"

Well here, when you ask for tea, you get tea. In the South, that's different, that's when it's iced and sweetened. Here tea is tea and iced is never sweet.

Laughed at you for asking for vinegar? What did you want vinegar for? Your fries? If so, I wonder what's so funny about that. We put vinegar on lots of stuff here in the South, including fries. I like using vinegar and lemon juice on salad. They're tasty and no calories. Tea and coffee both are a way of life here. Though, here it's iced tea and coffee so strong it can walk across the table under it's own power. :lmao:

Don't tell me McDonald's there have vinegar, because I don't believe it. Locally, people use it, but we don't vinegar our fries as a nation. Here, and I mean in NJ and NYC, it's an Irish or English style pub that has it, nowhere else. I will buy that local places in localized spots use it, but it's not country-wide.

I will investigate WW and if they make men drop a point, too. But again, 37!!!!! For the love of God! 37!!!

Oh , and he's doing FINE. Why not, he has 37 points!!!

BTW, anyone know the movie Clerks? "36?" "Well, 37, including you".

Here, if you're in a restaurant, and you order tea to drink, you specify "sweet or unsweetened". And I'm not saying it's a mandate to vinegar your fries, but most restaurants you go to have vinegar either in bottles on the table or in little packets. I mean, our BBQ sauces are vinegar based.

And Liz, I can NOT believe you brought up Clerks "37" :rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Everyone pay homage to Liz :worship: :lmao:

WHAT????

WTH? Who makes that cutie? You? Some chain?

Bacon? :lmao:

It's just like potato skins. Potato/fries, cheese, bacon/bacon bits, dipped in your choice of ranch or sour cream, ranch being the bomb.

I supposed I've made it. Definately an appetizer in Ohio.

YES! Thank you.

Tell me the story. I love a good boycott. Love it!

Ok, but, it's not necessarily a good story.

Well, it all started in 1999. We were starting our construction company and we went to Best Buy (in Reynoldsburg Ohio) to get a computer. (Cause I live in Po Dunk and we don't have anything fancier than a Kohls. We don't even have a Target.)

My husbands grandma, (who is like my right arm - she comes on trips with us, she works in my office for me when I'm swamped, loves my children and me like her own, we are tight. She's 76. Love her.) Janet had just retired and she wanted a computer too. So I was buying 2 computers. No small beans back in 1999.

Our salesBOY "Art" (said with a snear) could care less if we even wanted to buy a floppy disk. He just wanted to Yuk it up with the other salesboys (again, said with a snear). We had multiple issues. One of which was the free scanner you got with an IBM was out of stock. Fine. Give us the next one UP. We went round and round and round. My bff Katrina (with me at the store), who is not scared of anything laid him flat on the ground. Cause as you all know, I don't enjoy conflict. We must have been there for 3 hours. It was misery. And I was spending like $3600.00!!!

After that, I was Best Buy Jaded.

Fast forward to 2001? I got my little Diva in Training a Kerokie machine for Christmas at BB. It was the big mam-a jamma. TV included. She loved it.

It stopped working the next November. Bah, but, it was still under warranty, so I took it to the Best Buy in Lancaster Ohio where I got it. They shipped it back to be fixed. Couple weeks go by and the machine is dead. They tell me I can get another one. I pick out a new machine online and head all the way to Lancaster to purchase it. Well, guess what, they didn't have the one I wanted. They had "lesser" machines. The sales lady did a store search for the one I wanted and it was north of Columbus at Polaris.

That weekend we treck up to Polaris. (Rember I don't like riding in cars for extended periods.) Busy, cold, Christmas shopping season. Get my machine and hop in line with my paperwork. They wouldn't give me that machine. Said they'd have to transfer it to Lancaster, where I could get it then. I was so ticked. I have worked in Corporate Office Retail. It's a matter of numbers. Take it out of Lancaster numbers and put it in Polaris accounts. They would not budge. We leave empty handed and pissed off.

The next Saturday, we go to Lancaster Ohio, to pick up the machine and that was the last time I ever spent money at BB.

Will wonders never cease? Kat, you spent money on something you might only need 2 times a year? Glory be.

Well, after the tournament this weekend and keeping score/watching games, I figured I might use them more than twice a year. ;)

Yes, vinegar on fries is a Maine thing, too. Not for me, though. Ewwww. That is up there with cheese fries on the grossness scale for me. But in the school cafeteria when there are fries with the lunch, yup, served with vinegar.

I have seen them do it here, and I like it esp on thick-cut fries. All of our fish-type places (LJS, Capt D's) have it readily available, and I am pretty sure I have seen it in other places.

Eastern NC BBQ is vinegar and red pepper and a lot of BBQ places have vinegar on the table.

I was referring to England's influence. Yep she wanted it for fries. Regional. Absolutely regional. You're right.

We have regional issues/changes here for sure. But nothing as great as the US. I am so envious of how you can simply have a new life, and with extreme climate changes, in your own country.

Vancouver and Victoria are a change in climate (well except those who live in the far north - any move is a biggie).

But most moves arei not like Minnesota to Arizona. Or Rhode Island to Mississippi. Love the differences. So envious.

Or Chicago to NC!! :yay:

Somebody mentioned Collard greens last week or sometime. We put vinegar on collard greens, mustard green, turnip greens, lima and butter beans, cole slaw, on rice, potato chips, in fish stew and use it to make pickles and pickled peppers. Most of the time, the vinegar we use on greens is what we call "pepper vinegar". How we make that is we take hot peppers like cayenne, cirano or jalapeno peppers and pack them in a jar and fill the jar with vinegar. Then we let that sit for a few weeks and the hot peppers are basically pickled and the vinegar becomes HOT. My dad also makes sauerkraut out of collard greens as well. Awesome stuff.

I can pop my thumb in and out at random. It freaks DH out, so I do it all the more! :rotfl:

YES on Vinegar! Mmm, Fish and Chips with Salt and Vingear :lovestruc

That is cool about the thumb thing. Mine came out of joint because the joint has been destroyed by rheumatoid arthritis, along with others on my body. At some point, I'm going to have to have joint replacement surgery, sigh. :sad2:

Oh, and btw, Kelly. I'm angry because David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who. Now I don't assume that you're a Doctor Who fan, I'm just mentioning it to you because you're more likely than anyone else would know who I'm talking about. :thumbsup2

<-- Notice my Tardis? :rotfl2:

That sucks :guilty:

Oh I am SO angry that David Tennant is leaving Doctor Who. Im not overly impressed with his replacement either, but I will reserve judgement until Ive seen him as the Doctor.
I'd read the rumours about David Tennant leaving, but I was watching the TV awards where he formally announced it - I was gutted! I love me some Doctor Who :cool1:

OMG, yeah. I mean, when I was a kid, Tom Baker was my favorite Doctor. When the new Doctor Who started up, I was WAY excited and I really liked Christopher Eccleston and when he left the show, I was very worried about David Tennant because I didn't know him from anything other than his role as Barty Crouch Jr. and didn't know what kind of actor he was going to be. I was very pleasantly surprised and he quickly became my favorite Doctor. So now, it's depression time again. I know nothing of this new guy and have only seen a picture of him, but, I'll reserve judgment til I see him as the Doctor as well. Plus, I think it's great that Stephen Moffet is taking the show over. All my favorite episodes of Doctor Who are one's the he wrote, so, I'm excited to see what he'll do with it. :yay:

I like Tom Baker, Ive seen a few of the episodes with him in and they were great - plus, he guest presented one of my favourite quiz shows a few weeks ago and he is hilarious!
I really enjoyed the series with Christopher Eccleston in, and was very surprised he left so soon. I had seen David Tennant in a few things over here, but they were more serious dramas and I wasn't sure how he'd 'cross over' to the Doctor, but hes my favourite doctor too!

Maybe the new doctor will be great, I hope so. We'll have to wait and see! :woohoo:

Ok Cutie. I was really thinking fries. BUt yeah you're right I guess it's just like potato skins. Okay.

I can't remember - do you feel sick in cars? You told me and I can't remember Lyz. Why the not liking road trips? I just adore a road trip. Just adore.

As for English/UK influences we've changed so rapidly. I'm not sure we can even get vinegar in McDonald's anymore here now that I think about it. This incident was late eighties. Now I'm curious - I'm going to be on a mission.

Toronto is wild. We, apparently, are the most multicultural city in the world. Now before you NYers jump on the "most" I'm sure it's probably because of countries that are banned for immigration in the States that aren't in Canada. Anyway, it's fabulous for a girl who loves all food. All of it. :lmao:

Roddy - that simply sucks with the RA. I'm sorry.

Hey Liz - how is the WW boy girl challenge going? How many points does he get? :lmao: ;)

Erika - you mentioned a new after or during picture. Yes? Also, I meant to tell you - you are going to look young for life. Why? Broad face, thick hair. Keepers of youth. It's like Andie MacDowell. Looks 25. Lucky you.

Lisa, thanks for asking. He gets 37. 37!!!

Don't eat any points on the way to the car!

(That's for all you Clerks fans.)

I spoke incorrectly Liz. I know it's regional. And the differences. I just think it's cute. Hot tea?

Anyway, I suspect that all along the route, northern spots too, the tea just doesn't come as hot in some places as in Canada. I know that sounds absolultely absurd. I realize that. But my parents claim they could just never got it hot enough on the entire route down. Just wasn't the same kind of taste. Hence coffee took over.

Hi all,

In bed on Percoset an I have not read since my post yesterday so I hope all is well with everyone. I will try to read some tonight yet. Congrats to all the successes this week - I know there must be many big and small.

Update on my health:

I went to Urgent Care this morning and then to outpatient at hospital because my stomach pain/aches were not any better. In fact way worse and I could not take it.

After drinking "orange dream" cr@p over 2 hours and IV contrast I found out that the cause for my stomach pains are hemoraging cysts on my right ovary. Currently the one I am having issues with is large and I feel like I am in labor.

They can see that I have had several small ones from recent scar tissue that I have been dealing with for a little while. This would make sense why I was having stomach pain sometimes and not others and not being able to track it to a type of anything consistant like food or activity.

I will be going back for screening on the 10th but the premilinary looks like they are leaning to PCOS which could explain hair loss and a multiple of other issues I have been complaining about but looking at individually rather than as a connected concern. I am just grateful to start finally get answers.

:cool1: The good news is I was complimented on my weight loss. The last time I was there in September before I went into the hospital and I weighed in at 263 on their scale. Today I was at 242 on their scale and 238 on the home scale so I did loose the past 2 weeks and the tracking is working. I think the last time I posted a weight here I was at just under 242 on the home scale. Not as much as I would like to see but the first time I have been under 240 in a looong while!

So as for the challenge -
Down weight
Tracking daily
Excersized was walking outside 1-2 miles Ace and in Duluth on Fri, Sat, Sun and Tuesday. Nada since but I will start back up when this passes.

Right now sitting or walking hurts like heck - flat on my back is the only comfortable place.

Have a great weekend everyone and please pray that this gets better before Tuesday and our flight to WDW. There were only a few small ones remaining and they say mid cycle is usually when you have problems and that should be over any day. I am ready for this to be done.

Hey Dawn,

So sorry.

But it must be a relief to know. Take good care of yourself.

Yeah they do it here to. Stephens family puts it on spinach! YUCK! They will eat anything that has been soaked in vinegar, eggs, sausage, veggies.I have one in the fridge right now with some hot pepper in it it looks like a BOMB and then there is an onion and peppers and carrots. YUCK!!!
I'm smiling Erika. Vinegar no. Poutine no. But fries, you don't eat them - do you? Curious.

MMMMM POUTINE!!!! Thanks Lisa!:goodvibes

So February break is a hectic week for the kids well the jr/sr high kids. THey have Winter week. Monday and tuesday they have class meetings and they can't just have one a day they have like 5 all over town. Then on Wednesday they start their snow sculptors (this year they are doing Fort Ticonderoga ) Thursday night is the talent show. THis is LOUD to say the least. They all have to show class spirit and dress in their appropriate class colors. (each class has their own seniors were yellow and white, Jr Blue and white, sophomores are red and white freshman Purple and white and then 8th grade is yellow and white and 7th are blue and white) They all have posters and noise makes and have to have some type of skit. Most of the skits are great and very funny, for some reason sam's class always BOMBS. Last year the 7th grades were great this year the 8th graders no one did anything. The freshman (Sam's old class were good (well the boys were). Today they were supposed to work on the snow sculptors and then they had skating with snacks at the rink here in town and then tonight is Volleyball. Most of the events are catered by the lions club so its all free of charge for the kids. Tomorrow is finish up the snow sculptors and they get judged and they have games all day with a BBQ. Then they have the winter formal. So for sam today instead of working with her class we went dress shopping because you know you can NEVER wear the same dress TWICE! OR SHOES! Unfortunately, I have to work tomorrow night. I always end up working the night of the formal. I did take the week off to cart here here and there, but weekends I am only allowed one off for the year, otherwise I have to switch weekends. I will have stephen take pictures of the girls (because I will have 5 of them getting ready here tomorrow night) I have videos from the talent show, none of Sam's class, but have some of her class of the past. I am trying to down load them now both to photobucket and youtube. I will post links later, as they are still downloading.
As for the rest of us we went to see Coraline today, it was cute and dark. I think it's a tim burton movie. Now I am off to go here a I don't even know what to call it business purposal?????:confused3 . I think I told you all that my mother did some travel agent thing on the computer, well its a pyramid thingy and stephen wants to go listen to it WHY I DO NOT UNDERSTAND, I WANT NO PART OF IT. Stephen thinks we will get a free weekend away trip and I said Hello we have kids we can't get a free weekend away! NO ONE will take the kids & dog that long!
Oh have to post a picture of Mocha on Valentines day
CIMG2737.jpg

Isn't she so CUTE??? Grandma bought her her scarf!
