In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Hi gang....

OK - I was taking a bit of a computer holiday this weekend.... I needed to just do a bunch of nothing and see where my mood took me...

I did not eat my way through the weekend!!!!!! Huge success for me... I even cooked dinner for my parents yesterday and today and did not significantly overeat... I am so freaking happy about that... We'll see what the scale reads tomorrow, but I am feeling great given that I wasn't shoving every cookie and piece of bread into my mouth like I have been. Awareness of the problem is the first step right....

anyways, I thought of you all often this weekend...

E - :hug: sending hugs your way... you have had a lot thrown at you this week...

Dawn and Baylor - glad to hear the grafts went well.... still praying for you and hope that things continue to go well.... :hug:

Steph - I have woken up and thought I was late to work only to realize that it was Sunday.... it could have been worse.... hope the PC party goes well...

Nancy - do you ever stop girl???? take a breath - you are making the rest of us look bad....

Kat - how is your kitty doing???

Liz - hope your weekend was a good one...

Lyz - how are you doing???

Stacey, Sarah, Amy and Aimee - where are you all???? miss you guys....

Hope I am not forgetting anyone.... if I am, I am sorry - it is not intentional...

Have a great night everyone...
Paula

I ditto all of Paula's post!

And...

Tomorrow back to posting food, right? And our exercise! I am going to the gym whether I want to or not.

Still in entertaining mode...catch up tomorrow.

xoxo

Sounds like a successful weekend to me! :yay:

Nancy - do you ever stop girl???? take a breath - you are making the rest of us look bad....

no...really I don't. :confused3 I have a really hard time sitting still :rolleyes1

Tomorrow back to posting food, right? And our exercise! I am going to the gym whether I want to or not.

YES! Back to posting for sure. I don't like that I'm not holding myself accountable over the weekends. I work hard at the gym M-F, do mostly o.k. with my food...then the weekend comes, and....it's like no-holds-barred for me :headache:

I washed 7 windows today...that makes my grand total thus far this fall...10. :laughing: I got a long way to go....:eek: ...I also washed 4 glass-front cabinet doors....they look so nice in my kitchen but the danged things are just grime magnets! :sad2:

Oh - and I helped DS with his college essay. Mostly I annoyed him to no end, with my constant editing, suggestions, THESAURAS. But I think the end product is so much better than what he started with. Thankfully, I think it's finally done. :thumbsup2

Have a great night all...off for some sleep :cloud9:

Good evening ladies and Dan if you are reading!

So I think the PC party went good not great but good! I had 9 people here and what was great is that they were from everywhere. I had people from church and kids friends parents my neighbor and stephen's cousins and of course the SIL's. I didn't do to bad I made about $400. My goal was for $500. So I still am going to see if I can get some orders from work, and a few from those who couldn't make it. Of course I most of those who came haven't seen the house so they were looking all around.

So we all know how I feel about my SIL's parenting skills! Well my PC dealer is friends with SIL and was talking to the girls and she said Boy I am glad I don't have kids, and my niece said WHY and she said something about NOT letting her daughter out of the house with so much make on! And I said yeah Sam and I get into that argument daily on how much make is on under the eye! Well SIL turns around all defensive and says WELL JUST YOU WAIT TILL THE DAY SHE REBELS! UMM WTH! I was never let out of the house looking like a tramp and umm I never rebelled! ( didn't say this aloud until after the party) It infuriated me that she thinks this is all OK, her girls are 16 and 13 and they have been dying their hair for years and wearing make up for years! They were NEVER KIDS! Of course I said something to Steph about it and he was like they aren't my kids I don't care what they do! I was like HELLO YOU DAUGHTER HANGS OUT WITH THEM ANS I AM SURE LOOKS LIKE THAT WHEN WE AREN"T AROUND. I got the look of let's not go there! SO I did what you girls would do I got another glass of wine! I had about 5 glasses of wine! I was the only one drinking it at the party! I did shame SIL into drinking it! Other SIL didn't talk to me and was quite RUDE. But I think she is still pissed because I made a fuss about her son and stephens son picking on SAM. UMM WHO GIVES A F*%$!!!!!!! I don't need them!
So everyone liked my house!
OO for food I did a broccoli and carrot plate with south western dip (store bought) and then I had cheese and crackers! and then I thought I remembered how to make a pumpkin dip, I made it the way I thought it should be and low and behold it wasn't as good as I remembered :confused3 I looked at the recipe and I forgot several Items! Oh well it was still good and no one had had it before so no one knew! Oh and the artichoke cheesy bread bowl was a HUGE hit for me and the girls. The girls literally were taking spoonfuls but SIL never taught them manners either when it comes to food! But after all my guest left I devoured the rest of the dip which was mmmmm good!
I went and did a little xmas shopping! Not much! It was nice to get out without the kids! They have a half day tomorrow and of course no school tuesday. Next week they have Wednesday off for parent teacher conferences. This cracks me up when I worked days.. My appointments where always made for about 9:30 am then I have moved to evening and now they make my appointments at 3:30 in the afternoon! So now I have to do some schedule re-arranging so I can take the day off! Plus I would like to meet with some of Sam's teachers. So I need to study the schedule tomorrow and see who I can swap a day with!

OK off to bed school tomorrow! have a great night

Mornin' all...

Well. I don't know whether to be IMPRESSED or DEPRESSED. :confused3 I did some major damage this weekend...up 2.5 lbs....

so...I'm off to the gym. Mad and disappointed with myself. I need to refocus BIG time. <grrrrrr>

ttyl

LET'S GO! It is MONDAY! Time for a new week, a fresh start, and getting back on the wagon!

Ok, food and exercise for me yesterday:

B = 100 cal bagel, 2 egg whites, 2 pieces veggie bacon (220 cals)
S = 10 almonds (100)
L = tuna on whole grain (200)
S= more almonds! (100) Hot cocoa (sugar free, fat free, but SO good; double batch = 100)
something else but I can't remember...I will guess 150
D = large green salad, 2 small slices whole grain bread (guessing 400-ish)
Wine = 2 glasses; (200)

Approx 1470 for the day
Exercise = ran 4.5 miles

So I finally got a run in! And I did not die. I am telling you, I was stressing about that big time! So it is back on track for me this week. I have a TERRIBLE day today as I will be on campus for like 9 hours. Jumbotron plus tons of meetings. Just kill me now.

My goal this week - WATER! It has been SO long since I have gotten in the right amount of water. Gotta go back to basics, you know?

YES! Back to posting for sure. I don't like that I'm not holding myself accountable over the weekends. I work hard at the gym M-F, do mostly o.k. with my food...then the weekend comes, and....it's like no-holds-barred for me :headache:

Nancy--I so totally get this! This is my issue as well. I swear, if I was able to stay on program over the week-ends, then I would be skinny all the time. But I will have several great days and then just go way off on the week-ends! Have to work on that, for sure.

Totally OFF TOPIC post...feel free to skip...

It is that time of year at school when the kids (Cam's class) are doing the Flat Stanley project. She has to mail her Flat Stanley to someone in another part of the country and whoever receives him has to do a little write-up thing about what Flat Stanley would do or see in that part of the country.

Any takers?

How does a picture of flat Stanley from the top of the NYS Capitol sound?

I'll PM you my address and I'll take are the little guy...

My college did this when they had their last big anniversary. Laura Bush spoke at commencement that year and shared pictures of little Roger with her, the President, the PM of Austrailia and his wife at a State Dinner and one of Little Roger with Barney... it was pretty cool...

The day is going well so far... I need to post my food from the weekend... will do that at lunchtime... have a good one...

I also washed 4 glass-front cabinet doors....they look so nice in my kitchen but the danged things are just grime magnets! :sad2:

Yes, been there done that. I hated my glass front cabinets. Gone.

So I think the PC party went good not great but good!

That's a good turnout. Every one I've been too the turnout sucks.

So we all know how I feel about my SIL's parenting skills!

She's a piece of work. And your other sil came and didn't talk to you. That's just odd.

So everyone liked my house!

I bet. It's always fun to look thru someone else's house.

But after all my guest left I devoured the rest of the dip which was mmmmm good!

:laughing: I'd do the same thing!

(Cam's class) are doing the Flat Stanley project.

EriKa - Ooh, I love Flat Stanley Projects. Paula sounds like a good option. You know what else would be cool. Send one to Kevin and John. I bet money they will do it. Don't ask. Just send them an extra in case they don't.

Now that you've had a few days to think. How are you and Kelly feeling? Is she aware she will have another surgery, or is it so far away it's really a non issue? Was the dr happy with her kidney function or do you need to do something different?

Dawn - thanks for the update. Tupperware! Golly, those women. Did you talk to the bonfire owner?

Nancy - gotta smelly competition going on, eh?

Paula - I took a computer break too. Felt good.

I ate too much Sunday. Today I brought my own food, so going to try and stay away from fast food.

Hi Liz. Great job at the gym last week. 2 hours!

Hi Kat. How's your cat?

Hi Lisa. Glad you got thru last week. They asked you to talk? wow.

Hi Sarah. Where is the report?

Hi Amy. No drunken posts? How was the girls weekend?

Hi Stacey.

Ok, I'm sure I had much more to say. I'll remember later. Need to work.

Hey everyone!

Girls weekend was fun. Didn't do much of anything except sit on the beach and drink, sit by the pool and drink and eat some really good food. I never got around to drunk posting. :sad2: I think it was good to take a computer break for the weekend. weather was freakin' gorgeous. anyone want to hear how nice it was??? :)

So I am getting back on track today. Actual meals over the weekend were ok, nothing too horrible, but I did way more snacking than usual. I also tried this Sam Adams beer/liquor called Utopias that costs 150 dollars a bottle. It's maple syrup based and you drink it like you would a cognac or brandy. It was good. I imagine drinking it around a fireplace with snowfalling outside. :goodvibes

Since I had the weekend off, I plan on doing some pilates tonight. A run outside tomorrow morning since DH is off work for Veteran's Day. I am planning on my weekly LR for Thursday or Friday with DD in the stroller again which means it will be slow, but I have to do it before the weekend since I am flying to vermont on saturday with DD and refuse to do 9 miles on my parents TM in the basement.

:hug: to everyone!

Hi all..
Got some work done today amazingly enough.... I am up 2 pounds but I am totally bloated from sitting in his hospital room - he had sedation earlier today for removing of staples - it was not successfull so we are going under reg anestisia (sp??) tom...so he slept the afternoon away...I left..worked...my sister laura went to the hospital for a few hours this afternoon - and now I am heading back there...will spend the night again...I think I need a chiropractor after sleeping in a chair for so many days...we will know tom his update on coming home etc...I have not seen the graft site yet so am preparing for the nursing instructions...he has twice and is saying it is looking better...I am not allowed in the room when they are doing dressing changes...

Talking to homeowner tonight I hope...will let ya know how that goes...

Flat Stanley's are fun...Carsyn sent her's to Ireland in fact...sorry E but too much going on here now...

I am feeling frusterated for Baylor because this is going to be a long process...the kids involved are not getting it at all and he is feeling bad...need to talk on aim more about that...

My hair had stopped falling out - now it's dropping like flies...so I will be the one in a wig at the meet at Raglands...we are going...Doc has said yes...unless of course he gets an infection...but he should be able to do everything...depending on how he feels...but will be wearing compresion dressings for the next 18 months so it will be interesting to see how self-concious he is..the socuial worker and child life director are working with him on word choices etc. when kids are cruel...besides Baylor's first reaction which will be to beat the crappola out of them...Treyner will kill someone if they give him grief...

Okay - re-reading all posts I have missed...Love ya all...:)

Oh, Dawn...what a hard road for your boy, and for your family. I wish there was something I could do to make it easier. Thanks for the update.

:hug:

Phew! What a day! I am beyond beat...very long day up on campus and now I have a few more hours to do here at home.

EriKa - Ooh, I love Flat Stanley Projects. Paula sounds like a good option. You know what else would be cool. Send one to Kevin and John. I bet money they will do it. Don't ask. Just send them an extra in case they don't.

Really? I can just see John being like, "I'm not doing THAT? Does she know me at all??" :rotfl2: So are YOU volunteering since you love doing them? :rotfl:

Can I just say I love you guys all for offering! So great. :goodvibes I am going to let Cammie decide where she wants to send Stanley and will let you know in the morning.

Now that you've had a few days to think. How are you and Kelly feeling? Is she aware she will have another surgery, or is it so far away it's really a non issue? Was the dr happy with her kidney function or do you need to do something different?

I am much better and so is Kel, thanks. Yes, she is aware that there will be another surgery and she is NOT happy about it. But it is far enough away that she is no longer dwelling on it. She got a new Webkinz and a HSM Balloon and that helped swallow the news. And the doc was very pleased with the kidney function, so that is good. He was concerned, though, a bit the new issue. He is literally number one in the WORLD for this issue in kids and he has only seen this about 4 times. So that makes me nervous. (Boston Children's Hospital has the best pediatric urology dept. in the world and this guy, her surgeon, is head of the Dept. at Harvard Medical School, so that speaks volumes.)

AMY--we just tried something similar called Cabin Fever. It is made here in Maine and is a maple syrup flavored type of brandy. YUM. I bet you can find it in VT. And it is not $150 per bottle!

Flat Stanley's are fun...Carsyn sent her's to Ireland in fact...sorry E but too much going on here now...

I am feeling frusterated for Baylor because this is going to be a long process...the kids involved are not getting it at all and he is feeling bad...need to talk on aim more about that...

Dawn--I wouldn't dream of sending Stanley your way! :hug: Wow, this sounds like a rough road ahead for Baylor. I am so sorry he is going through this. Any new news? And I am dying to hear what the homeowners have to say.

FOOD:

Bfast = low cal oatmeal (60)
S = Almonds (100)
Lunch = fiber one bar (140)
S = 100 cal pack and some almonds (150)
Dinner = half bowl French Onion soup (home made) ? 300-ish? and whole grain bread (150) Few pieces of sushi (200)

Total = 1200

Exercise = 45 minutes of strength and core

Dawn -

Wanted to keep this post separate...

I am glad to hear that the graft appears to have gone well. Sorry that Baylor has to get knocked out tomorrow to have the sutures removed though... Give the little guy a hug from me and tell him that I am thinking of him.

Also - tell him that I can teach him a few good comebacks to stop anyone who tries to pick on him in their tracks. I know a few things about angry eyes and am willing to share...

Sending hugs:hug: , prayers :goodvibes and pixie dust :wizard: your way...

Paula
