In Search of my Body...Not The One I ate...#3 "Crowning Goddesses As We Go"

Well, kitty has bladder stones again. Poor baby. And poor checkbook. Sigh.

At least gas prices have gone down.

I want to go crawl into bed.

Hey all--thanks for all of the well wishes for today. I am exhausted and emotionally drained, but the day is over and it is mostly good news. Kel's remaining kidney is doing great...strong, healthy, no signs of disease, etc. That is the important part. However, she will have to have another surgery (number 6) to remove some dead/diseased tissue and some cysts, etc. That surgery will not take place for 9-12 months from now, so things look good for the immediate future.

Note to self: I still stress eat.

Sorry about your cat. How'd you know something was wrong? Poor thing.

Ummm... she is generally a very good kitty, uses her litter box all the time, etc. But, when these symptoms manifest themselves, well, we have a wall or two that show it rather clearly. And as our walls are beige, there is obviously blood involved.

I feel bad as she is in pain. But the expense is also a very unhappy thing. I do love her much, though, and she is only 7, and it is fixable, so we will find a way to pay for it.

Glad that she is doing well, meh to the surgery, but I am sure she will come through it like the trooper she is. Many hugs.

Food for today:
B: half english muffin and sf jam (60), coffee
L: turkey pita (120) + salad (100)
D: 2 pita-pizzas (400)
S: beer (500?), maybe popcorn

Total, 1200-1500. Exercise, 25 min on the arc trainer, 50 crunches.

I am at least back into the gym, so that is good....

Nancy, holy crap!!! I would so not be strong in that environment.

Some days are easier than others. The thing is, we are right there, in the shop...so I can be puttin' my fingers in the food :scared:

Me either. I'd owe them a check.

:rotfl:

Well, kitty has bladder stones again. Poor baby. And poor checkbook. Sigh.

I asked the vet's office about "pet health insurance" for my goats, 'cause let me tell you - you want to see a vet bill! Anywho...as much as *I* love my goats, apparently the insurance industry views them as livestock, not pets - so no-go on the insurance. :headache: eh - it was worth askin'...

Heard from Dawn. Baylors surgery is done. Doc is happy with results. Baylor in ALOT of pain.

I can only imagine. I get burns of ALL kinds - stove @ work, lye from soapmaking, wood furnace....I was a burn sampler last winter :rolleyes1 and those little teensy burns hurt like a MOTHER  That poor kid...the pain must be unbearable. My heart just breaks for him...:sad1:

 Try to focus on the good news. (I know - easy to say from where I'm sitting)....but she is healthy, strong & doin' well.

yeah. About that...hard habit to break, isn't it?:headache:

I just found a website that offers Disney ring tones for your phone...totally free and super easy. I mean, even Nancy could do it! :lmao:

I now have the music from Soarin as my ring tone. Love it! I also downloaded Small World (of course) and One Little Spark (from Journey to Imagination) though for professional reasons did not set those as ring tones. I figure that no one from work would recognize the Soarin' music. :upsidedow

Here's the link...since ya know that Liz is going to demand it.

Good morning everyone! :wave2:

Up and out early this morning for me....so much to do...

My day took a bit of an unexpected turn yesterday. I had the day off from work :woohoo: so I was trying to catch up on other aspects of my life. which includes my Goat milk soap. I currently sell my soap only at the orchard where I work, at my SIL's cheese room (straight off her farm) and out of my house. and we did that crapola craft fair last week...

I had an order to fill for today - someone had ordered 50 bars to put into their wedding gift bags for guests at at the hotel - for pick up today. OK...I did up a really nice custom label, and that's really nice, right? Well, she called me Friday a.m.....and wants to pick up MORE soap when she picks up her order :thumbsup2 Cool. I'll sell soap.

Then I went to SIL to re-stock my display. She sold A LOT. BIL paid me in cash. :thumbsup2 Gotta love it. Told me that the owners of a local candle shop had been in to buy their cheese, saw my soap and want to talk to me. We stop in - they want to carry my soap in their store :woohoo:

We go out to dinner, where we discuss soap selling strategy (can I write that off? :confused3 )- come home to message from SIL...a co-worker from the vets office wants to take her cheese and my soap TODAY to a craft event at their church in Hartford....she'll sell, we do nothing but reap the profits. :yay: So....I pack up a big box of soap.

THEN - late last night, I find out that another local woman who has been making goat milk soap for years, is MOVING. AWAY. :yay: She will no longer be supplying soap to the 2 local health food stores!!!

So - today....making soap, and making more connections. It's quite exciting....now...if we only had time to design our website....:rolleyes1 (ok - I hear you LAUGHING. Hubby does the programming...I just tell him what I want it to look like.... )

oh yeah...and I'm supposed to be making costumes...:headache:

I just found a website that offers Disney ring tones for your phone...totally free and super easy. I mean, even Nancy could do it! :lmao:

Oh how embarassing will it be if I CAN'T figure it out...:scared:

Wow, Nancy! How exciting! Isn't it funny how things just fall into your lap like this. This must some killer good soap!

Morning everyone. I am feeling rested today. Obviously I couldn't work out yesterday, so I will try to get my long run in today. It has been over two weeks since I have done a long run! :scared1: And of course J is gone for the day, so I will have to beg my parents to watch the kids, etc.

Wow Nancy! That is awesome. Seriously. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.

I am cleaning house today. In a pleasant mood. Weather here is nice. Opened all the windows.

E - enjoy the long run. I bet it'll feel good to you.

check in later.

Hey guys - in the muck here.

Nancy! So excited for you! We really need to celebrate the awesome things that happen in our lives - I so hope you are loving this moment. :goodvibes

Dawn - I'm reading your TR, so I have the updates. Glad it went well. Hugs and prayers.

I will post food later but the good news is I went back to the gym, my spin and yoga class, 2 hours, yesterday! Finally. Back to basics.

Liz - I just realized a post I made yesterday did not submit... so frusterating...I have to leave mid-posts a lot depending on Baylor's needs and then sometimes I am timed out of the hospital connection and need to re-go through that and it must have been lost in the process...

I remember saying I was glad Kel was doing okay and wondering about J and telling Kat I was empathetic to her kitty's situation..

Now I would like to add...:thumbsup2 to the soap queen...I am thinking I would love to order some as well...Can I yell out
"Nancy's Goat soap, take me away..." cause I am needin that kind of a moment...

Baylor update....his graft site is looking good according to the docs...his donor site is quite large and since the doctor wrapped it around the back of his leg....he is in pain laying flat on his back and the nurse is saying that his bed pan experience will not be pleasant because it will be resting on his donor site when he finally does haveto go #2...:scared1:

I will be talking with the mom of the house this all happened at this weekend in order to talk to her about medical/home owners insuarance because we need to start the process...I hope she wil nderstand that this is not a personal attack but you have insurance for a reason and it is needed in this case...

Chad and Treyner will spend the night tonight here...I need a break and some sleep...but wil be here tom. again...some people are upset because they have not gotten their Tupp this past few days...stuff I promisd to sort for them...so it was shipped to me...and yeah...even after appologizing and exlaining the situation...still asked....so when will I get it then?

I am about ready to go postal....

Thanks for all the good wishes, everyone!

It is exciting & nerve wracking at the same time. Mostly I make soap because I LIKE to. It's fun to play with it, and by gosh if I can make a buck or two doin' it, well that's just icing on the cake for me. :goodvibes

Funny thing though - I spoke with the "other" soap gal today. She is selling some of her supplies, and I'm definitely interested - but she...ummm...let's just say she made it *perfectly clear* that she was NOT going out of business  I never even mentioned moving, selling out, etc, etc......she just wanted to be sure that I didn't think she wasn't going to be making soap any longer no matter WHAT I may have heard :confused3 ....not sure where the *firmness* came from...the way I see it, everyone needs to wash (some should consider washing more frequently than they do  )...so there should be no need for uber-competitiveness, ya know? That's not why I do this. I'm not trying to make it my sole source of income...just a hobby that pays for itself!

Anyway...I'm expecting to get up to her house tomorrow, so hopefully things will be all nicey-nice after I meet with her. :flower3: ...and if she does contine to provide soap to the local shops, that's fine with me! Can't really miss what I haven't ever had, right? :confused3

Weather here is nice. Opened all the windows.

Weather here stinks. Rainy, gloomy...bah.

I will post food later but the good news is I went back to the gym, my spin and yoga class, 2 hours, yesterday! Finally. Back to basics.

YEAH FOR LIZ! :cheer2: I miss the spin classes. I did start at the new gym (Planet Fitness) - they don't have classes, but it's close, I go, and I get my workout it. I have kept my membership at Golds as well - expecting to use it for the classes over the winter....when my work schedule is way more flexible...

I will be talking with the mom of the house this all happened at this weekend in order to talk to her about medical/home owners insuarance because we need to start the process...I hope she wil nderstand that this is not a personal attack but you have insurance for a reason and it is needed in this case...

I hope she understand too. Because you're right. It's NOT personal. It was an accident, and that's EXACTLY why we have insurance. If it happened at my house, I'd be all over the insurance company making sure that this kid got his bills paid...

some people are upset because they have not gotten their Tupp this past few days...stuff I promisd to sort for them...so it was shipped to me...and yeah...even after appologizing and exlaining the situation...still asked....so when will I get it then?

I am about ready to go postal....

People are friggin' idiots. Good God. There is no piece of Tupperware ever made that is so danged important that a woman should have to leave her kid who is in the hospital to deliver. Puh-leeze.

Ya know - I'd probably be just snotty enough to point out the fact that they are so DAMNED lucky that they have nothing *bigger* to worry about in their lives than their Tupperware order.

(of course, I'd find some sweet, yet brutally sarcastic way to say it. ;) )

Not sure that I can be that nice right now...want to throw it through their windows...
anyway - thanks for the support...the mom has called me a lot - we just have not spoken about insurance at all...some part of me was hoping she would bring it up...

Anyway - will let ya know how that turns out....and as far as your soap baby mama drama...she obviously smells competition...or maybe she is smelling her friends after they use her soap cause they are still stanky... :rotfl2:
okay - slap happy ya can tell....:rolleyes1

Just for fun. I have been on facebook recently and have reconnected with some college friends, so we have been scanning and sharing old pictures. Here is one of me circa 1997, halloween as an 80's girl. Note the jelly shoes and charm necklace and big hair. good times.

n672625874_1114496_5934.jpg

Ok that Pic brought back some memories.. and since I just finished watching the Top 100 80's songs it fit right in! It was sad i knew almost all the songs!
As for our Target selling wine it's a NO! No alcoholic beverages! I did get a box of the sangria across the street at the liquor warehouse! I got a 5 liter box for $15.00, It is VERY good I have sampled at least THREE glass this evening! I also stuck with my plan as not to spend to much and I stuck with the cheese and crackers and veggies with a south western dip probably isn't a great match up with the sangria but Hey whatever! I guess I am expecting a crowd to tomorrow! I know of at least 10 peeps that are coming!
HOPEFULLY I WILL GET LOTS OF StUFF FOR FREE!!

Wow Nancy!

Glad someone had nice weather! It was a crappy rainy day here!

SO Stephen sick still went hunting! He left the house at 545 and Tyler got up and started talking to Zac and I was UM NO THIS AIN'T HAPPEN!! I just went to bed! I managed to corral him into my bed and wouldn't you know it everytime I would just start dozing he would tell me something that he did in school this week! I told him buddy I love to hear what you did in school but can ya tell me in a couple of hours it's still dark out and we should be sleeping! Then Zac came in saying he felt low (dam growth spurts) So I said WTH I will just get up! Then it was off to skating and then to Target Zac started getting really crabby in there so again check sugar...44 I pick up this 74 pound kid and put him in the cart with a juice box and try to continue shopping. I look at my watch (which I haven't worn in about a week and a half) and I went OMG the Birthday party in in 30 mins. I didn't get to finish shopping and I race to to food area of target and get a few hotdogs and slushies and race out into the mall and chow them down. I race to the car thinking I have ten minutes to get home( 20 min drive ) and wrap a gift and get to the party. I am in the car and look at the clock in the car and the clock says it's 1150 NOT 1250..OOPPS i never set my watch back.:scared1: So I throw in a few more stores and still ended up racing to the party :rolleyes1 . I spend all afternoon at a birthday party for a 5 year old with about 5 other moms. It was a great day! I cooked dinner and sat with a glass of wine and watched VH1's top 100 80's music!
I kept Tyler up till 9 pm hoping maybe he will sleep past 6 tomorrow!
I am off to bed! I fell asleep on the couch but I couldn't go to bed with out saying goodnight!:cloud9:
Dawn I hope that Baylor is feeling better! DAM those people for looking for their tupperware! Hope the talk with the Mom went OK.
Erika glad to hear that Kel is doing good!

Morning! I never got my run in yesterday as I had the kids all day and J didn't get home till 7 when it was time for dinner. By the time we ate and cleaned up it was 8:30. Too dark to run outside and the gym had long since closed.

So today I will run.

I feel like a huge slug since vacation. I did great with the running for several days, but I did not run on Weds. (that was our travel day and we left the resort before 8am). Then Thursday was the day J was so sick and I was managing everything and everyone at home (though I didn't run, I did get some exercise in). Friday we were in Boston all day with Kel. And then yesterday I had no one to watch the kids. So I have not run in FIVE days. That is a record for me since starting this running program in Feb. I am very nervous about getting back out there. I really need today to be a good run in order to get my head back in it.

DAWN--glad the graft went well. Still thinking of you guys.

And can I just say...some people suck! These women with their tupperware! And I have had the same thing from students. I let them know that I would be out of town in the hospital with my 5 year old daughter and got tons of e-mail saying "so when will my grade be posted then?" Get a grip!

Steph--can't wait to hear about the PC party. Good luck and I hope you make some money. Better you than me, though girlfriend. I would never do one of those in a million years. :rotfl2:

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: That sounds like something I would do!!

5 days does seem like a long time - but it's really o.k.....getting your HEAD back in the right place can be tricky...but your body will have appreciated the break. :goodvibes it'll feel good to run again.

BEAUTIFUL sunshine-y day here today. :yay: not sure what the day will bring - but we need to clean the barn...and I am waaaayyyy behind on my costumes for tomorrow night's rehersal :rolleyes1 church first...then I'll figure it out from there. Hope everyone is having a great weekend...

ok, so I have an AIM name now...amykab2003..

Gotcha Amy. Loved the 80s pic.

I'm so laughing at myself this morning. Look at me....all buzzed and cocky - tryin' to give out technical advice!

:lmao: :rotfl:

Nancy - lol, that is funny. YOU should not be giving techinical advice. That's like me explaining how to make goats milk soap.:teacher:

So, no lice, just the nits.

Relief there.

SO I voted for the VERY FIRST TIME yesterday! I was pretty excited!

Wow Steph.

The election is over, the friends have departed, and I am up 6.2 lbs from all my celebrating and partying. Yes, I weighed in. It was ugly!

Hang in there Liz. I don't know why I'm saying that - you obviously will.

Hey Val!:yay:

Hi guys...

Baylor and I had a pretty good day today...he is usually the quiet one so I am learning lots about him...and he told me today all about his philosophy on the presidential debate.
:

Been so thinking about you both.

Hi all...

on the plus side, my back is feeling better and I made it to the pool tonight yeah!!!!

...

Yep, yeah! Good to hear Paula.

J is home today and tomorrow to catch up on work around the house, but he woke up feeling terrible.

Okay, so did you tell the sick boy I thought he looked sexy!!!:rotfl: :lmao: ;) ;

Erika isn't is funny that when MEN are sick they expect the world to stop and take care of them! When woman are sick MEN expect that their world should continue like normal.

 Steph.

Tri was canceled since both the running and biking courses were totally underwater. Not just like wet and puddles...but 4" deep! Eh, there will be more.

Aaaah crap. You just better sign up for another. Don't you know you have people living through you. Ie. ME!!!:rotfl:

I LOVE it. Use it. I can't wait to get one!

Okay, hmmmm. I highlighted this post. And have no idea. Could make up such an interesting back story if I wanted to though!!!:rolleyes1

Lots to report and very little of it good, I'm afraid...

Tomorrow, as I mentioned, Kel is off to the hospital for a battery of tests. This is really nothing new, but she is still so tired from the trip that she just lost it tonight. She just sobbed and said that she doesn't want to go back to the hospital, etc. She is such a tough kid. This is the first time any of this stuff with her illness has gotten to her. She has gone through 5 surgeries like a champ. Never been afraid or anything. But she totally broke down tonight.

Thank God for grandparents. So here I was at home...taking care of a very sick man, trying to manage homework for the older two kids (who are swamped since they missed so much school), and Kel is having a melt down and just needs major TLC. My mom comes up with the brilliant idea of having Kel have a sleep-over at her house. It isn't a school day for Kel and this way she gets totally pampered and lots of one-on-one time. Perfect. My mom came right over and scooped her up and she is there now and so much happier and calm.

What a day, huh? Did I really wake up at Club Med just yesterday???

Anyway, I will report in tomorrow night when we are back from the hospital.

 Erika. Actually    and  .

Wow Nancy! That is awesome. Seriously. Gotta strike while the iron is hot.
.

Yeah Nancy. That's fantastic. :thumbsup2

And can I just say...some people suck! These women with their tupperware! And I have had the same thing from students. I let them know that I would be out of town in the hospital with my 5 year old daughter and got tons of e-mail saying "so when will my grade be posted then?" Get a grip!

Holy crap. Unbelievable.

Well, obviously I'm home. I'm low. They asked me to speak. I liked that. It feels like it's easier to say goodbye.

I was able to see my friend with the lovely husband. After his "engagement" he now wants to come home AGAIN!!!! But of course hasn't told his engaged sweetie before asking his wife. Whatflippinever.

I just feel sad all around. Hopefully, it will pass. It will pass. It will. Yes, I'm talking to myself again. ;)

:rotfl2: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Nice to see you back Lisa! Hope your mood improves...

Trying to help DS with his college essay. What a major P.I.T.A!

(him, I mean, not the essay :rotfl2: ) no really. I seriously don't remember going thru all this stress when I applied to college. Of course, that was waaaayyy back in the dark ages ;)
