In Room Washer and Dryer ???

Does anyone have a list of all Resorts and room types that have a washer and dryer in room? This is a must have for my wife and our first family trip to BLT in a 1bed only reinforced this idea. Thanks in advance!

The only rooms with in-room WD are DVC 1 and 2BR villas.

The DVC resorts with these villas are:
  • Bay Lake Tower
  • Wilderness Lodge/Boulder Ridge Villas
  • Villas at the Grand Floridian
  • Beach Club Villas
  • Boardwalk Villas
  • Animal Kingdom Villas
  • Old Key West
  • Saratoga Springs
Note that studios DO NOT have in-unit W/D. They have access to a laundry room, which may or may not be convenient (cough cough Poly).

I also don't believe that suites at deluxe resorts (i.e., not DVC villas) have W/D in unit; the suites are pitched much more at the luxury market, and lux does not equal doing laundry on vacation. DVC villas are "comforts of home," thus a W/D.

The in room w/d is amazing and not just for going home with a suitcase full of clean clothes! Drying wet clothes after a rainy day or forgetting to bring more than one pair of pants :rolleyes1, it really comes in handy!

The 2br will have the exact same stacked washer/dryer, just an added bedroom (or studio, depending if it's a dedicated 2br or a 1br connecting to a studio).

While I do love having my own w/d, I still do laundry when staying anywhere without one. Usually every couple or 3 days, I'll do it early while the others sleep in. All the resorts have laundry rooms, and then I can do two loads at once (beware, at least at Pop, the dryers run hot, so I do it all on low and check after a short time to hang some items).

Paying cash, the difference between the cost of a 1BR and a normal resort room is such that most people can afford to pay to do a load of laundry and still have money left over for pool drinks . Even on points, the cost differential to a 1BR from either a studio or a 2BR is why the 1BR units are last to book, even in highest season.

Well--nothing beats just being able to do your wash and dry right in the room--no running to get a machine, waiting for it all to be done, etc.

When we get back from our daily routine we just drop in the new wash , take out any that's already been dried---

Do you all remember what type of laundry detergent they use? Powder or liquid?

You can use either powder or liquid. The in room washers currently are not HE that I have found so far, but you can use HE detergent. The studio access washers in the laundry rooms are HE and you cannot use regular detergent. I usually bring a bottle of Tide from home to use. Or any other stuff I have at home. I still have some non-HE at home that I use whenever I find a non-HE washer.

We were upgraded from a studio to a 1Bd Villa at BWV, the laundry machine in the room was fantastic! We went in June and went through two full sets of clothes everyday, as it was so hot.

I always do laundry during a WDW vacation (no matter where we stay) as we tend to go in the hot weather. It was so easy to do a quick load when we got home from the parks and not have to worry about anything.

Agreed. But it's worth noting that several of the resorts have a web site you can access from your phone that shows you the status of your load in the washer or dryer, if using the laundry room. It made it very convenient for us without in room laundry, since we had no other reason to upgrade to a 1BR.
