I made a routine parent phone call today
and was floored


Mom wanted to ask for a little TLC and special interest in her DS
she just found out she has cancer
and will be going through chemo
which involves 4 day hospital stays for each segment


I was crying on the phone, trying to be supportive and positive
I just wanted to run back to the room and hug her DS

Suddenly nothing else seemed important at all
She was really positive, and I hope she kicks it
and I again realized how truly blessed I am

DH just went to pick up our little thespian

We go see the play tomorrow night


She will be so tired in the morning, this is WAY WAY late for her!

DH and I are going to see Beauty and the Beast tonight (high school play)
DS is going if there are still tickets (which i doubt, I already tried to add one for DD14... )
DS is apparently going with friends...male and female...

the sun is shining

it is delightfully warm

I want to get the patio furniture out
and plant flowers

and mulch up the beds (they always look so nice in spring when you add a layer of mulch)

the kids came in after school, dropped their stuff
and charged out to ride bikes, play kickball, etc

I can hear them whooping and hollering as they enjoy the nice day

I have planning nothing for dinner....

(and I am starting to get hungry, even if no one else is!)

The play yesterday was amazing!
We have such talented performers at our high school! I seriously could not believe how professionally it was done. I felt like I was at a Disney show, really really good!

DD11 was all smiles, adorable (for the five minutes they perform) but it is a good way to get the younger kids interested in the performances for when they are high schoolers.

DH and I spent hours working outside
cleaning up the winter blah and getting ready for spring

we had DS helping for a short time until he got bored

I have had a half barrel planter for 18 years or so
it just disintegrated over this winter...
DH bumped it and it "melted"

our patio chairs are now on the deck

the weather forecast is now "snow flurries" for Sunday!
UGH! It is seventy today!

I just got it today so not yet!
I'll probably wear it on Monday to class, depends on the weather!

My real birthday is Thursday so Mom is bringing all of my presents to school on Tuesday since I won't be home for it.
