Princess Weekend Trip Report: Wednesday, Feb 22
Stats of the day: 24,141 steps; 9.63 miles
The goal of today was to get a slushie with liquor. It was harder to accomplish than expected. I was going to get lunch from the Refreshment Outpost and get an Outpost Lemonade (frozen lemonade and vodka) But just before I got to the counter, their card readers went down

So I moved on to the American pavilion, where I was going to try a lemonade slushie with bourbon. But their slushie machines were down

So I just got food and suffered total sobriety

I did finally get a hard slushie in the early evening after dinner in HS
Anyway, I walked around World Showcase and looked at flowers, but not everything was ready for F&G yet, so I’ll do more of this in April.
After Epcot, I went to Disney Springs via Beach Club, as planned. There was no VQ for Gideon’s, just a 15-20 minute line! And I discovered that Gideon’s sells insulated bags for $12, with an ice back to keep your treats from melting (on future visits, they’ll just sell you a fresh ice pack or 2). This bag was handy for protecting the cookies, and I eventually used it as my second carry-on on the way home. And the ice pack was used on my ankle as needed throughout the trip, so double bonus! I bought 3 cookies for myself, and 3 for my grandparents.
After Disney Springs (where I didn’t buy anything but cookies—my wallet was very impressed with my restraint) I headed back to the hotel for a rest before heading to HS for dinner, Fantasmic, and After Hours. I fully admit that dinner for me at Mama Melrose is not really worth it for the price of a Fantasmic package (I wanted Sci-Fi) but I really didn’t want to have to stand in line for a good seat. I ended up being the first package person to enter the theatre, so I got a front row center seat. Yes, I had to sit there for over an hour, but I had my Kindle, so it was fine. And it wasn’t windy, so I didn’t have to worry about getting wet during the show.
After Fantasmic, I went and killed time before the AH watching the projection shows. I was a little annoyed that Disney decided to extend the regular hours to butt right up against the AH, so there was no time to clear the final day guests out of the lines. I planned to start the AH in Toy Story, since one of my priorities was Slinky Dog, because I’ll never stand in the regular line for it, and it never fits into my G+ days properly. I did Midway Mania (92,100, accuracy 67%), then walked over to Swirling Saucers to kill time waiting on Slinky to clear out. I still ended up burning almost a half hour on Slinky, but I didn’t want to have to come back later.
After Slinky, and another round on Midway Mania (124,100, accuracy 71%), I headed back to Batuu for Smuggler’s Run. When I got to the party delegator guy and he asked “how many?” I said “one, and I would like to not be an engineer please” and that was fine. I don’t do that during regular hours because I know they need to get people through as efficiently as possible, but I figured it wouldn’t be a problem during AH. I got paired with a kid as the left/right pilot, and I got up/down, which is good for me. It’s so much more fun to do this ride as a pilot, because you can actually see what’s going on.
I was hoping to do Rise after Smuggler’s, but the wait was still showing as 50 minutes, and with how long the ride is after the wait, it would’ve eaten all the rest of the night and I didn’t think that was the best use of my time. I got some snacks in front of Muppets, and then did Runaway Railway. Finally, it was time to head to Tower of Terror. On the way, Donald and Daisy walked through the streets, dressed for a night out. They stopped and did a whole photoshoot with one of the PhotoPass folks, so that was fun to watch. I stopped to get some more pictures in my cute Edna Mode Dress Shop dress.
Tower of Terror was a walk on, which meant that the wait time was set to 13 minutes
Afterward, I headed out to the bus, and back to my resort. It took a while to get to sleep, but I had sort of planned on that. I was hoping to be tired on Thursday so I could get to sleep early before the 5K. Spoiler alert: this did not work
