I am going to WDW in august with my sister and her 3 children, we live in different towns but are going as a group. Do we go through immigration together or do I go alone and my sister and kids go as a group because we have different surnames and different homr addresses (we are staying at the same hotel)

Yes you go alone and your sis and her kids go as a family, as you have different surnames

If its only the 5 of you I would try going thru together. we came thru on Saturday with DS's friend no problem. Also been thru in past with 2 mums (3 addresses) unless you get a really awkward officer they will put you all thru together.

My husband and I have different surnames, we've always gone through together and only filled out one of those blue documents.
Until last time, when the immigration woman insisted we fill out 2 of those blue ones as we have different surnames even though we are married and live at the same address. We asked if this was a new thing as we visited the US only a few weeks earlier and the 1 form was enough then, didn't get an answer. :confused3
Next time we'll be filling out the 2 forms in advance but will still try to hand over just one.

What would happen with my family re forms and immigration? There is me and my boyfriend who have different surnames and our youngest (3) who has my boyfriends surname and he has another daughter who has a different surname again (12)???

I went through with my mum and DD even though my Mum lives at a different address and it was fine, and we filled in one form. My DD also has a different surname to both me and my mum and they never said anything.

Here's the link to the official website, together with a sample form. It states one form per family (I think it used to state "one per household" :confused3 ). My daughters have a different surname to Matt and me, but we've only ever completed one form.

each separate family will go up 1 family at a time with 1 white form per family, daughters boy friend had to do this. If you get lucky imigration officer may let you all go up together but i think not, so i would just wait my turn to be saved from any hassel.

I personally think its the other way around you are unlucky if they won't process you together, we have done it 4 times no problem and know many others who have, its only if you get an awkward officer you will have problems.
Like I have always said with Immigration officers, talk to them and be as friendly as poss you will get away with most things, like re-doing forms, familes together etc. but just throw your passports at them they will work by the book, send you to back or seperate you. Sweet talking doesn't not work with them all but always has with me.

Yes, I agree, Wayne. The year elder dd's boyfriend came with us, he filled in a separate customs form as he was not a member of our family, but we were all processed as one group. We've found that some immigration officers are more chatty than others, but we've never encountered a rude or difficult one.
