"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

I've been lurking, but now I MUST comment for two reasons.

Hanson. Love them! They put on the BEST show I have EVER seen (and I am an usher in a theater). I've only seen them 4 or 5 times ( so not nearly on your level) but I can't wait until they tour again! I was definitely at that Zac birthday show in CT. Hartford right? And fans handed out birthday hats?

Okay. My BFF and I do the same thing! Wayyyyy to many hilarious and amazing things happen when we are together, so we will often just look at each other, laugh, and say NOPE while shaking our heads. This means it is just too mucho talk about and we both understand anyway so why bother?

Loving your trip report! It is getting me psyched for my trip in 5 days!!!

I will have more of a comment later, but I sooooooooooooooooo should not have read this at work because I am trying so hard to hold back my laughter of the Blingee. And holding it in is just making me want to laugh more. Hahahahahahahahahaha.

Ok already with the Hanson updates!!!!! Youre killing me! LOVE if only! Gah it makes me wanna just go to a show and jump like crazy!!! Andddd now I'm all depressed cause I haven't seen them in so long! Hanson is the only thing that makes me as giddy as Disney, ha!

Love love love me some Hanson updates! Have you ever been to the House of Blues in Chicago? I saw them there a few years ago and when Taylor said JUMP it felt like the floor was going to collapse, I swear it was moving. :lovestruc

It seems like you guys had the BEST. DAY. EVER. (and I say that like Rapunzel while imagining I have long blond hair to swing around a tree with.)

And I just watched the video of If Only and I LOVE THE ENERGY. AND THE JUMPING. I just fell in love with the song.

THAT WAFFLE. Good thing it is almost lunch because now I am hungry. Except I will probably have something that is NOWHERE as good as that waffle.

Ewww. The Beach Club. I mean, you would think they would notice how disgusting it is and fix it up! It smells like a dumpster in there!

It doesn't surprise me all that a theater usher would say that! They kill it every single time they go on stage. They're honestly some of the most dedicated performers I've ever seen. It's unreal! And YES THAT WAS IN HARTFORD.

Ok, I can't believe that not only were you in Hartford, but that you do the same thing with your BFF! That is too funny!!!

5 days!! AHH. HAVE A MAGICAL TRIP! :smickey:

I will have more of a comment later, but I sooooooooooooooooo should not have read this at work because I am trying so hard to hold back my laughter of the Blingee. And holding it in is just making me want to laugh more. Hahahahahahahahahaha.

hahahahahaha I'm glad you recognize my blingee talents!!! It is not my first and I'm sure it won't be the last!

AHH ME TOO! I wish they would release those damn tour dates! And I feel the same way about nothing making you as giddy as Disney & Hanson.

Love love love me some Hanson updates! Have you ever been to the House of Blues in Chicago? I saw them there a few years ago and when Taylor said JUMP it felt like the floor was going to collapse, I swear it was moving. :lovestruc

Unfortunately I haven't done Chicago :( Came close a few times. I want to so bad! Zac said that sometimes the floor does move and that when he goes to other shows he's like "What's wrong with their fans...?" because they DON'T shake the floor. LOL

It seems like you guys had the BEST. DAY. EVER. (and I say that like Rapunzel while imagining I have long blond hair to swing around a tree with.)

It really was an unbelievably fabulous Disney day!!!!

Aww, I'm glad you liked it! Though you would have to basically be dead inside not to like If Only.

*sigh* Yes you are right... things as good as that waffle do not really exist in this world or the next.

Agreed! I can't believe anyone would want to stay in that dump!!!!!!!

Love how much fun you guys are having!! Disney, Hanson, and food?! It's almost too much to comprehend!

Ugh, that dirty Beach Club. I mean, class it up Disney, class it up...lol!

Yay for Hanson updates!! But UGH I AM SO MAD I MISSED IF ONLY!!!!!!! :sad2: One of my favorite songs, and probably my favorite one to see them perform live. I think I even remember once on LJ saying something remarkably similar about when Taylor Hanson tells me to jump, I don't care if my feet feel like they are going to fall off, I JUMP! :rotfl: And I jump till my legs burn! :yay: So bummed I missed it, but I had a similar moment after going to the first show and then not being sure that I needed to go to the second show but then we did and they played LWEO which is my favorite Hanson song EVER IN LIFE so I was so happy we had decided to go. God, I love seeing them live. :cheer2:

Two great updates!

AND OMG GIA as if these posts were not enough perfection all in one place. I LOVED HER! And then years later I watched her on The Practice, but she will always be Gia to me. :upsidedow

Sooooo just to let you know....we were twins separated at birth. I can't even handle how much alike we are. First love is Disney, second is Taylor Hanson. And I "get" every SINGLE one of your pop culture references!! :rotfl:

By the way I've always lurked on disboards, but tonight I joined and its all because of you! (No pressure!) I just had to tell you how much I'm enjoying your TR and that I am one of THOSE people. That's right, the girl who's head nearly explodes with excitement when I hear those sweet notes on the harmonica at the start of "If Only". I die. Ugh!

Also, it was fate that I clicked on your TR. I was going to randomly select one that appealed to me and upon choosing yours, couldn't believe half of what I was reading...completely sounds like stuff I say & do! Now I will have to look you up on Twitter next cuz you're totally awesome. I'm soooo jealous of how often you go to DW and to concerts of The Boys, as mine aren't nearly as numerous as yours, but so glad to have found a soul sister to live vicariously!

Awww Totoro!!!! Love that movie!!! :goodvibes

Yay for getting to see the Hanson shows, despite the lines!!!

:lmao: hahahahahaha that email! Sounds like an awesome end to an awesome night!

I know, right?! With this much amazingness going on I just have to say NOPE to myself b/c I can't even believe/handle it. At all.

I'm so mad I missed LWEO! It's one of my favorites too! That's another song where I just go totally insane. Definitely one of their BEST songs to hear live and just best in general... but they really kill it. You know when that red guitar comes out that it's ON. hahaha. And the video.... oh god, the video.

Thank you!

She'll always be Gia to me too!!!

Yay! I'm glad someone out there in the world gets me. LOL.

:welcome: to the DIS and #StuckInDisney12!!!!!!!

Thank you so much! I'm glad you joined and have joined us on the TR. I'm so happy that all these Hanson fans have come aboard! I never thought there'd be this many on here. :D

Awww Totoro!!!! Love that movie!!! :goodvibes

:lmao: hahahahahaha that email! Sounds like an awesome end to an awesome night!

I still haven't seen it! I'll have to get on that.

Yeah, for us avoiding the lines was definitely the way to go! :thumbsup2

It really was so nice of Barackalacka to check in during our trip, wasn't it? :lmao:

So, I'm not a super Hanson fan or anything, but I DID enjoy some of their songs when I was younger and I've heard a few of their recent ones/their recent cover of MmmBop and I'm impressed! I love that they had serious staying power and are still around making music, because you can tell they weren't just a one-hit wonder. ANYWAY, that being said, I can't imagine how awesome it would be to see my favorite band in the world IN DISNEY. Like, I totally understand why you were just beyond happy. That's an awesome moment.

I seriously died at your Gia reference. Like, I saw the name Gia and immediately thought of Gia from Full House, then continued reading and I just love that I knew what you were talking about before I even scrolled down, hahaha.

HAHAHA I love the Engrish thing. It cracks me up. I feel like Hustle Cat is maybe a part of that, because.. what?

I just watched for the first time Hayao Miyazaki's Spirited Away, which I loved. Matt just finished playing a video game, also by him, called Ni No Kuni and it was so pretty! His animation is beautiful and reminds me a lot of Disney.

You just dropped a Zenon reference, you go girl.

Oh man, SUSHI! I love it! Well, actually, I don't love the just straight up raw fish... but I do love rolls like California Rolls, Seattle Rolls, etc. They are delicious! I wasn't a big fan until I moved to Seattle. Sushi is HUGE here so I finally started easing my way into it and I love certain kinds! I'm sorry you didn't enjoy yours though. :(

AHHH THAT WAFFLE!! It looks amazing and I want to try it! aldkfjdlskfjkldf

So, it's unfortunate that you had a slight brain fart and went to Beach Club. However, I AM NOT COMPLAINING! My love for that area, as you know, is infinite. It is my home away from home... so any time it pops up in a TR I am very happy!

I'm glad Hula Timon had a friend now!!

Hahahaha that Barack Obama email made me laugh because I remember some friends posting the same thing when they got that email back in October! Oh Barack, you keep on bein' you. :cool2:

I don't understand what is going on with Survivor this season. And Brandon Hantz is an evil little nugget you needs to just not be around. In fact, the Hantz family in general just needs to stay off of my television... just sayin'. That being said, I'm a Boston Rob fan soooo if he ever wants to make a return, I wouldn't complain. :rolleyes1

Yay! I love when people who aren't the biggest fans of Hanson recognize their awesomeness anyway. They are so dedicated to what they do that they can't help but have staying power. Sure, they haven't topped the charts in years, but none of us care. They get to have their core fanbase and do what they love for a living without dealing with the crap that comes with being super famous, so it's kind of the best of both worlds for them! And us, because we don't have to deal with giant arenas and ridiculous ticket prices. So it's a win win. Sorry I just rambled on about Hanson even MORE. It's just what I do. haha.

I love that you thought of Gia before I even explained what I was saying! You get 288989 cool points.

You're probably right about Hustle Cat! LOL.

His animation really is stunning and his work is some of the only animated films that I think can compare with Disney. I mean there are a lot of cute animated films, but when it comes to really superb filmmaking, Disney's kinda unparalelled when it comes to animation in my eyes. I may be biased due to my extreme obsession, though. hahaha

ZENON. :dance3:

It's okay, I'll probably try sushi again someday. It's just one of those things that so many people ADORE, maybe I'll eventually develop a taste for it!
Yeah, ending up at the Beach Club by mistake is pretty much the best mistake ever. No one was mad.

LOL I know, I loved that e-mail! It just killed me that it wasn't your average "Let Your Voice Be Heard This Election" subject line, he was literally just saying hey.

I LOVE BOSTON ROB. Honestly. Like. LOOOOOVE HIM. Though I don't think he'll be back again unless they do that Winners Only deathmatch type season that's been rumored for awhile now, or if the show lasts like 10 more years, I could see him coming back. But I mean after playing 4 times and winning the last time I think he's done for awhile. I'd love to see him play every season though, I don't even care. And yeah I don't know what is going on this season yet either, I always don't like the early episodes as much cause it's just too hard to keep track of the new people. I agree the Hantz family just needs to be out of my life. I used to find Russell horrible yet entertaining, especially on HvV, but Brandon is just flat out annoying to watch, plus he is SO CREEPY. Like if I knew him in real life I'd probably be a little afraid of him just b/c he is super, super crazy.

OK LONGEST REPLY EVER OVER. hahaha

OCTOBER 23, 2012
Day 3, Part 1 In Which That Silly Carnataurus Doesn't Scare Me!

Sometimes, I can sleep in at Disney World.

I did it quite a lot later on in the trip when I was #StuckInDisney. Who cares about commandoing it and getting on all the E-tickets in the morning? I mean, my trips are in the double digits. I've done so much. You gotta relax sometimes.

On some days, it just feels right.

THIS WAS NOT ONE OF THOSE DAYS.

It was only Day 3 and I had a lot of my Disney freak energy. I wanted to GO. However, Lee-Anne and I had agreed we would set the wake up call 10 am. *whines* BUT... BUT.... ackkkkkk!!!!

While I was planning the trip, Lee-Anne told me she did not want to get up early every day she was there. In my Disney freak mind, this seemed unthinkable, especially b/c she only had 5 days (she had kind of an early departure on her 6th day, and said she didn't want to leave the resort) and had not been to Disney since she was 8.

From her perspective, I understand it though. I mean, she is not obsessed, she loves Disney the normal amount. Normal vacationers work hard all year and don't want to get up early every day of their vacation. Normal vacationers are content with getting to the parks a little later and missing out on a few things in order to get that extra bit of shut eye.

I am not a normal vacationer. I'M CRAZY!!! I DON'T NEED REST!!!

Lee-Anne needed rest. And that was totally reasonable and fine. There is no way I would ever try and push someone to be on my level when it comes to running around Disney like a madwoman with no regard for sleep or rest of any kind.

For more on this topic, look up Jess's THERE'S NO SLEEPING IN DISNEY! trip report. It's a good one.

So when I made our plans, I alternated our getting up early and this was one of the days we were to sleep in.

WE did not sleep in. As in the both of us.

Lee-Anne slept in. I tried to. I really did.

My body and mind simply would not allow that. I WAS IN DISNEY!!! I CAN'T SIT STILL FOR MORE THAN 20 SECONDS.

I was up at 7:11 AM with no wake-up call. LOL.

I had to get up and do *something*, but I didn't want to go to the park without Lee-Anne. I mean, I kind of did but I thought that would be rude and all. Later she told me she had no problem if I did that so I did it the next day. It actually works out well because she doesn't like thrill rides anyway, so the morning is the perfect time for me to bang those out while she sleeps! We've worked out a system.

So I got up and went to Everything Pop to fill my mug with hot water so I could have tea.

8424496340_9b2e03752a_z.jpg

Another bright, beautiful morning at POP! I LOVE the morning at Pop Century. I mean, I love any morning in any Disney location, but I just love the hustle and bustle of this resort. It's extremely wham.

8423404343_d7a2c0056a_z.jpg

It's a crappy pic, but oh how I love Everything Pop Shopping & Dining. OH I LOVE IT SO MUCH.

I looked around in the shopping area and wanted to buy everything, but I was especially taken by these princess sweatpants!

8424495984_7591fac595_z.jpg

Kids sizes only though. BOO.

8423404731_210f3676e7_z.jpg

*Sigh* I love Pop so much. If all those bright colors don't wake you up, nothing will! Another reason why I love this resort. There is nothing relaxed about it, you know? It's just BOOM. HI. GOOD MORNING, good MORNING!

So... I still had a lot of time before Lee-Anne was gonna get up. I grabbed my iPod and turned on No Doubt's amazing new record Push and Shove (I highly recommend this if you like music of any kind!) while putting on my make-up.

I took my time with the make-up and my hair as well. Got dressed. Walked around Pop. Called my mom. Did my taxes. Fell in love, got married, got divorced. Watched Titanic and Gone With The Wind.

AND IT STILL WASN'T 10 AM.

Omg I was dying. I was so restless!

Time stopped. But if I remember correctly, Lee-Anne actually got up before 10! I guess she had some of that Disney energy too! I was overjoyed!

It was very hard to not say OKGETREADYNOWANDLET'SGOYAYYAYAY so instead I pulled up the Pop menu and asked what she wanted for breakfast and then went to get it.

8423404143_d04aea66e6_z.jpg

Lee-Anne got the Kid's Mickey Waffles and I got the Adult Breakfast Platter. She got orange juice and I got apple juice for a total of $0.00. YAY FREE DINING.

I wish I could have enjoyed the laid back approach to the morning but it was just too soon in the trip for me to feel like we were doing anything but wasting time. Like I said, once I ended up #StuckInDisney, I was more keen to relax cause I was hitting day 9, 10, etc. But on Day 3? No.

I didn't rush Lee-Anne at all because I rock as friend, okay? So I just watched Stacey and tried to be patient.

It was very hard and we didn't get to Animal Kingdom until NOON. I was having a Disney Planner's Coronary at this point. Like, it was Lee-Anne's only day in Animal Kingdom and it wasn't even a full day, we had to be at Epcot by 5:45 for the first Hanson show! I MEAN. GAH.

It was okay though. The day ended up being wonderful... as you will read about in the upcoming updates! So there was really nothing to worry about. WOO!

Btw, here are our Towel Animals!

8424496490_d0f976547e_z.jpg

8424495356_5435ae5b04_z.jpg

Ok so like I said, around 12 we arrived at DISNEY'S ANIMAL KINGDOM!

Look, a weird tree!

8423403361_f95c665ca4_z.jpg

Honestly if Animal Kingdom was called Weird Tree Kingdom it would still make sense. There are a lot of them!

This is what Discovery Island looked like on October 23, 2012 just passed noon. It looks more crowded than it was, we didn't wait on a line all day.

8424494508_165893fe1a_z.jpg

HALLOWEEN TREATS.

8423402761_cd9729d2b8_z.jpg

You can't really tell but the one on the left has a bat sticking out of the top of it. AWESOME. Unfortunately I was still stuffed from breakfast and never got to try it. Maybe next Halloween!

8423402959_ca183ee298_z.jpg

All cookies should be in this formation.

So, I gotta say, while I wasn't used to it, it IS fun touring with someone who has different interests than you because you get to experience Disney in a new way.

For instance, we didn't go straight to Everest for Fastpasses (which is what I always do) because Lee-Anne would not ride it. So I had a different plan for the day, which was a way I probably would not tour with anyone else. So even though it's kinda hard to get used to doing things in a way that wouldn't be my first choice, it's cool too because you get to experience the parks in a new way. You know?

I still missed that Yeti though. Don't worry, YETI TIME would happen later in the trip!

The first thing Lee-Anne wanted to do was look around in the shops! I had anxiety again because we really did not have that much time in Animal Kingdom and of all the things to see there, the stores are not even in the top, like, 50.

Buuuut this girl LOVES the stores, you guys. I can't even tell you how much. However, I did not want to be like Danny Tanner yelling at the family to stick to the itinerary, so I just kept quiet even though I was like AHH WE NEED TO GO.

I reminded myself that Lee-Anne has never seen ANY of Animal Kingdom and the stores really can be an attraction all their own. But I also knew something she wasn't really aware of, which is the epic size of AK. I mean, I told her it was bigger than the other parks combined, but you can't really get that until you trek around.

So I was kinda like "Look, I know you love merchandise, BUT THERE ARE ARE ACTUAL LIONS RIGHT OVER THAT BRIDGE." Like. I did not want to look at picture frames and "Tigger? Is that you?" T-shirts in this moment.

8424493710_87c612ce84_z.jpg

I loved this picture clippy thing though. I have one from Rock N Rollercoaster that I have pictures I took of Hanson in Disney from 2008 attached to.

8424493886_3596997bc6_z.jpg

Eventually we headed out and I took a picture of this dragon... thing...?

8424493540_af3a094170_z.jpg

One of the many great things about this extremely underrated park is that there are animals painted/carved/sculpted/whatever into EVERYTHING. Hundreds. Probably thousands! I notice ones I never have before every single trip!

We headed off in the direction of Dinoland first.

8424626192_4ec45484ca_z.jpg

I just adore this pic of me and HT. We just look so happy and content to be in Animal Kingdom!

8423535211_91cc6b22ca_z.jpg

8424493334_2962393136_z.jpg

8424625786_008318eb22_z.jpg

I explained to Lee-Anne how a lot of people hate Chester & Hester's because it's kind of a bright, bulgy eyesore in the middle of a beautiful, mellow park... BUT I STILL LOVE IT. I enjoy the contrast. She agreed!

We didn't go in though, bc Primeval Whirl was a no for Lee-Anne since it's a rollercoaster, and does anyone who isn't a 4 year old boy want to go on Tricera Top Spin? Nah.

8423401807_2847fb32a5_z.jpg

STILL LOVE IT THOUGH.

8424625606_8817de95cf_z.jpg

I usually don't do Dinosaur until later on in the day, so I was very excited! I love this attraction!

8423534343_09f83b16b0_z.jpg

That picture cracks me up because I look like I cut all my hair off. YIKES.

8424492774_c626033f7b_z.jpg

After waving hello to Kara's favorite diseased dinosaurs, we on our way to the Big Bang!

8423401175_ab3bb92537_z.jpg

In the loading area I noticed this little detail: it had elements from the periodic table that made up whatever substance was supposedly in there!

8424492340_b2521f9a61_z.jpg

Very interesting. 8th grade science class was long ago, though, so I may not be 100% clear on what they all mean!

Ok so... this was Lee-Anne's one and only thrill ride experience in Disney. She agreed to go on because I confirmed it wasn't "rollercoastery" (as she put it) at all.

I told her it was considered a thrill ride more because of the visuals than the actual ride, although it does get kinda rough cause you're supposed to be riding through the jungle 65 million years ago. She said that was fine, so yay!
I'm not sure how much she actually enjoyed the ride though, at the end when I asked her what she thought she said "It was .... interesting!" Some people just don't like almost being eaten by a dinosaur/getting blown up, what can I tell ya.

I however... LOVE IT.

Check out our ride photo. I look hilarious as usual.

8423400815_0382daac9e_z.jpg

JKDSLKAJFNLKDSJFNBS HAHAHAHAHAHA. I LOOKED THAT CARNATAURUS IN THE FACE FOR ONCE. YEAH I'M NOT SCARED OF YOU RAWR ALL YOU WANT AT ME. YOU'RE EXTINCT TRICK. BYE.

Up Next: Lots of hugs from a very special dog.

Oh I couldn't imagine not running to Expedition Everest first but you are right, change is good!! And primeval whirl ......OMG it's the funniest ride ever, we laugh the entire time ! LOVE IT!

Really glad she decided to ride Dinosaur, love the ride photo!!! Especially the little boy I the front row!! Lollolll

Agreed shopping comes later in the day not the beginning :)

Yeah, it was fine... especially because there was lots of time to do whatever I wanted once I got stuck there :thumbsup2

Me too! I wish she had tried other thrill rides, but Dinosaur is a good one to start with.

Agreed on both counts! But hey, not everyone is gonna wanna do it that way so I tried to compromise. Hopefully I did it well!

Thank you!

I heard that those chemical formulas are for mustard, ketchup and mayo!!

Oh really? LOL. That's random. Thanks for letting me know!

Sleeping in Disney? But Stitch tells us, under no circumstances, should there ever be sleeping in Disney! I mean, I guess I understand wanting to have an actual vacation with relaxation time and leisure. But, but, but. It's Disney! I just don't get it...

Ok, Lee-Anne not wanting to ride the thrill rides? That so used to be me. I have slowly started gathering courage and I have gotten on quite a few. Some, I loved, like ToT, but some I do NOT and Dinosaur is one of them. Lee-Anne in your ride picture is pretty much what I looked like in my last trek to the cretaceous (or whatever it's called) period. Add in my 8 year old goddaughter to whom I am gripped to in fear? That would be me. Yes, I am in my 30's thankyouverymuch buni just hate scary things. So rock on Lee-Anne! Stick to your no thrill ride policy!

Can't wait to hear what she thought about the jungle trek!!

I so know what you mean about occasionally having a day or two where you don't feel like you need to rush in the mornings (we had one like that toward the end of our trip), but at the beginning of the week I am always on TURBO mode, simply because I want to make sure we'll be able to fit in everything we want to do. Also because it's Disney and it makes me hyper and crazy.

Those Princess sweat pants are adorable!! Why are all the cutest Disney clothes only available in kids sizes or men's/unisex sizes?

This?
So I was kinda like "Look, I know you love merchandise, BUT THERE ARE ARE ACTUAL LIONS RIGHT OVER THAT BRIDGE." Like. I did not want to look at picture frames and "Tigger? Is that you?" T-shirts in this moment.
Hahaha. So me. I'm so excited for when we take my nephew's to Disney for the first time (and my sister's first trip since 1990), but I see us having this EXACT conversation.

I kind of struggle with the whole sleeping in thing vs. not... Then again, sleeping in for us in Disney is sleeping til like.. 8-8:30, so really it's not that late. Even at home during the weekends, I very rarely sleep past 9am.

But really, we're up most mornings in Disney very early!

Why is it that when Disney has an awesome t-shirt or even sweatpants, it's for kids only?! Maybe I need to take another look at what I'm wearing...

Haha you are a very good friend! It is definitely hard going to Disney with people who aren't necessarily as um, hardcore as you are... or don't really understand how getting up and going means you get more done. We do the long trips though so we can have the go-go-go mentality for the first part of the trip, and then slow things down a bit after that.

Hahaha, I can't say I've really truly perused any of the stores at AK! I'm with you, I'd rather see the real tigers!

That IS an adorable photo of you and Hula Timon! BFFs.

Ummm, let's just say your reaction to Dinosaur in the photo is the complete opposite of mine. Just you wait, hahahahaa.
