"I'M STUCK IN DISNEY!!!!!!!!" A Delightfully Unliveable TR ~ NEW TR 9/27!!!!!!!!!!!

__disneygirl said:
Hi Gianna! Thank you so much!! I hope you get to go this year too!!!

Your response just made my day! I was jumping up and down! As you can probably tell I'm new to the Disboards, and I love it! Haha!

Aww! Well your nice comment made MY day! :welcome: to the DIS!!!!

Just finished Day 1. This is a great TR! I LOVE how enthusiastic you are!! I am the same way, and it drives my family bonkers sometimes :rotfl

Thank you so much! My family is used to me by now but I still definitely annoy them from time to time.

Ahhhh!!! So I've been dying to take my children to Disney for Halloween .....because ...well it would be AWESOME!! Is it bad that now I want to ditch the kids and go to the Food & Wine instead?!?!? Ahhh, the food looks so good and to try all the different wines & beer sounds divine! I'm not a big drinker myself but its sure sounding fabulous! I think the F&W will still be going on while we are there for Halloween, so I could probably do both and my children really like Epcot. Couple of questions for you...can you use snacks from the DDP or just pay cash? And approximately how much is each sample that you buy? Would you think just "snacking" around the F&W would suffice or should we still make a TS?

I CAN NOT believe Lee-Anne didn't try the cheese soup!! Her Lobster looked fab though!

Love the color changing beer!! Was it real strong?

I hope you are there when you can do both MNSSHP and Food & Wine. That combo cannot be BEAT.

Yes you can use snack credits on almost anything at F&W. Watch the value though - save your snack credits for the more expensive items. You can really get an EXCELLENT value out of it that way. It's amazing. As for the pricing, some things are as low as $1.50 and the highest is like $8, except for the fancy alcohol which can be up to like $12. I'd say the average for most of the food items is between $3 and $6. It's NOT just snacking - it absolutely suffices for a whole meal and then some. I would definitely advise against making a TS. The F&W food is more than enough! :D

The beer wasn't that strong! I'm really bad with explaining this thing but I think it was like... in the middle. The flavor wasn't that strong and it was more of an ale? I think.

How did I miss your previous update?!?!?!?! You're going back to Disney?? Whaaaaaa? I. AM. SO. JEALOUS.!

Ah, I absolutely love taking "new" peeps to Disney and they are as obsessed as I am ( ok, so they are not really, but they do love it!)

I will be watching the news that week :). That's too much Celebrating ! I feel like y'all may make a news appearance!

I'm just jealous...nothing more to say.

Ahh yes I am! Don't be jealous, you'll be back someday! hahahaha YOU ARE RIGHT WE WILL PROBABLY END UP ON THE NEWS. That is so something I would say.

Great updates! I am so jealous. It is my dream to go to F&W...we were supposed to go this past October, but we bought a house and postponed our trip. Now we leave in 23 days! I am thrilled about the food offerings for F&G...i plan to post a trip report when we get back, we arrive on Day 1 of the festival...you should check out my report when I do it!

YAY! Your trip is so soon! I can't wait to read the report! :D

Great update! :)

Thank you!

The watermelon soda from China is HEAVEN. It is SO good. I think I am going to fill an empty water bottle up with that stuff next time I’m at WDW.

I NEED TO GO TO THE FOOD AND WINE FESTIVAL FOR THE SOUP. I have had it before (DUH) and it is amazing. But if I could just get as much as I would like anytime… I would be food drunk. End of story.

THAT CHICKEN CHIPOLTE SAUSAGE LOOKS INCREDIBLE.

The Lobster Shepherd’s pie sounds so good. But I’m allergic to lobster. WHY?!

Waffles are a very exciting thing! But Mickey waffles ARE 500000000x MORE EXCITING.

This is like the best update ever. Food, food, soup, food, Moroccan CMs, food, waffles…. PEERFECTION.

How exciting... Another trip just around the cornor... I for one can't wait to read both your reports from that trip. Separately u both have me following your adventures and now together..WOW... This will b one fantastic time.... and infor one cant wait to hear about it. YEP... Can't wait!!! I'm uptodate on both your reports now... after reading about Jess and the DCP I'm soooo pushing my daughter into looking into that.... And after yours I'm sooo eager to start planning my own trip back to wdw... Cross my fingers that works out for me. :thumbsup2

Can't wait to hear more....

Hello again Lia! I'm back, yes yes I know you missed me. I'm having to much fun commenting on different things, it's getting out of hand! Thanks again for making my day! Anyways, you should've tried the waffle, it is sooo good! Although *gasp* I've never tried the cheddar cheese soup! You make me want to write a trip report, but I have no trip to write about now! Maybe an old one from August? Haha, but I'd love for you to check out my "come say hi" thread on the welcome board to get to know me!

Hahaha omg I died at the "What up with that?" It's one of my favorite sketches they do nowadays.

Your experience is already making me really want to do F&W some day! Seriously. We will totally do it. Everything looks and sounds amazing! Now I'm hungry, nom.

Oh, the Thomas Kincade paintings!! He is my favorite modern artist (may he rest in peace). The Rapunzel one looks gorgeous, too. All of those Food and Wine offerings are making my mouth water.

hahaha I saw something on Tumblr of a girl holding a full size Dasani water bottle in front of the soda machines that was filled with the watermelon soda and she wrote F THE POLICE on it. I don't know how someone could fill that whole thing without a CM coming by! But yeah it's my favorite.

You have to go to F & W for the...everything! But yes, especially the soup. And yes, the sausage was incredible! Such great flavors!

I've never even had lobster! I have such an aversion to seafood. I don't know why. I'll probably try it one day though, everyone loves it so much. Maybe next time I'm in Disney I will!

You're right... Mickey Waffles are pretty much the most exciting waffles. Like of all time.

Thank you! I'm glad you enjoyed it so much! :goodvibes

Good luck with your daughter. If I went to college I would DEFINITELY do the DCP! I hope your trip works out!

HEY! Thanks for making MY day with this comment! :yay:

I DID try the waffle later on, just not in that moment. Don't worry, I wasn't gonna miss out on that!

I CAN'T BELIEVE YOU HAVEN'T HAD CHEDDAR CHEESE SOUP! Honestly, it is a must have for any Disney fan/human being/creature of any kind.

Why not write a report for August? Better late than never!!

Hahaha omg I died at the "What up with that?" It's one of my favorite sketches they do nowadays.

:rotfl: Me too! It gets me every time!!

You HAVE to do Food & Wine someday! There's just no question.

Oh, the Thomas Kincade paintings!! He is my favorite modern artist (may he rest in peace). The Rapunzel one looks gorgeous, too. All of those Food and Wine offerings are making my mouth water.

I know, he was amazing! I was shocked when I learned of his passing. What a great way to live though, making such beautiful art that will live on for years.

THANK YOU!!!! I am so excited! I wish you could be there!!!!

Awhh, you know if I wasn't already planning 2 massive trips this year I totally would :rotfl:

Thomas Kincade is AMAZING!!! And that piece is beyond beautiful!!!

Cheddar Cheese Soup is the reason the world spins on its axis correctly. Remove the soup and we are all doomed.

You seriously have me in stitches!!!!:rotfl2:
How did I live all these years and not know about Chedder Cheese Soup??? I feel like I am failing at life!!

That is so funny about the beer!! It kind of just fits right with the vibe though!

OCTOBER 22, 2012
Day 2, Part 9 In Which We're Almost Trampled By A Parade of Italian Musicians

We walked on and found ourselves in Japan.

IMG_1467_zps1d55bf0c.png

Lee-Anne started freaking out. You see, she is in love with Japan. She even lived there for six months in 2008 and can speak the language.

She was pretty amazed by the accuracy of it. She just kept saying "This is so weird. This is so weird." Because everything looked like Japan... but she wasn't in Japan. So she kind of felt like she was back there.... buuut she wasn't. SHE WAS IN JAPAN BUT SHE WASN'T IN JAPAN! INCEPTION.

So the picture below is of the replica of the famous "floating" torii (gate) at the Itsukushima Shrine.

IMG_1469_zps882f93b6.png

When she lived there, she visited the actual torii and she was just like OH MY GOD IT'S EXACTLY RIGHT OH MY GOD. But then she realized it was actually a little bit smaller than the real one. However, she still said they did a great job.

We kept moving and reached America, where we saw this!!!!!!!!!!!!

8390833368_c2a35669ec_z.jpg

WOOO!!! Our boys!

It was just so weird that we'd be seeing them in a few hours AND WE WERE IN DISNEY. Even though I've seen them in Disney before, I just still can't get used to the two things I love most in the entire world suddenly colliding. THE BEST.

After sufficiently fangirling over the Hanson sign, we went to check out the Hops & Barley booth!

Lee-Anne got the lobster roll. She cracked me up because she had never heard of a lobster roll before!

She got such a kick out of it and talked about it over and over, so I finally was just like "Wait, have you never heard of that before?" and she said she hadn't! She thought it was a special Disney thing or something. Maybe I just watch too much Food Network or it's just cause they are popular at the shore, but I thought they were common? I guess in life sometimes you just miss things. LOL. I know I do.

Like I said, I don't do seafood, but she absolutely LOVED IT. She would not stop talking about it the entire time... I think it's her version of Cheddar Cheese Soup!

(Though I'm sure it isn't better than the soup. Nothing is.)

8390834388_18c49739e2_z.jpg

I got the Pumpkin Mousse.

8390833204_4fed7f4082_z.jpg

8390832952_9129c3d86d_z.jpg

OH MY GOD GET OUT OF HERE RIGHT NOW IT WAS SO FREAKING GOOD.

I think I had this like 5 more times throughout the trip. It was less than $2 too! I love all things pumpkin, so I knew I would enjoy this. However, it really went above and beyond my expectations. All the layers went together PERFECTLY and it was just the best little gourmet snack. Oh man, was I in heaven!

@babybritney: ATTENTION WORLD. GET ON A PLANE NOW. GO TO EPCOT. GO TO THE HOPS AND BARLEY BOOTH. GET THE PUMPKIN MOUSSE. OOSASBSANMSOCNNMLNSISSZBXMZZBZN

We took a break for a minute and sat on one of the giant planters just enjoying our food and the moment. It was lovely.

@babybritney I haven't been this happy in.... I DON'T REMEMBER. Disney. I LOVE YOU.

Hula Timon was getting hungry again too so he searched the planter for more grubs.

8463101498_553dc52e03_z.jpg

After he was finished grubbing it up, we headed out to check out THE LINE (as previously explained here).

8389747311_292609fd44_z.jpg

So THE LINE was already pretty long. We could have gotten in it and just taken turns making trips to various F&W booths to bring food back to the line.... but we were having WAY too much fun for that!

I'm kind of a front row or nothing kinda gal. Like, I'm not a middle of the crowd person. I'm either front row (or in FRONT of the front row... a PERSONAL BEST for me the night Taylor played a song for me :lovestruc I of course ended up climbing on TOP of the barricade and jumping off of it at the end of the song which left me injured. A small price to pay for rock and roll) or i'm in the back or on the balcony dancing LIKE CRAZY, so getting in the line would have been kind of pointless being that it was so long already.

Lee-Anne agreed, but I think she was much more upset about it than I was since I honestly didn't care. Like at all. I was in Disney, and I was seeing Hanson regardless of what spot I had. It was a paradise kind of situation basically. Like if someone told me I had a month to live and I could request anything it would probably be to see a Hanson show in Disney (including a private show where they dress up like Hula Timon and dance for me) so I was just like whatever happens, happens!

So we carried on past the line and I was relieved to not be one of the fans sitting there wasting the day sweating their butts off on the World Showcase pavement. It would have rocked to see Hanson from the front row in Disney, but there will be so many more shows for us, years and years of shows... so I wasn't mad.

Onward!

8390832630_92a984a7c7_z.jpg

Oh, it's Heaven.

8389747029_d379263f7d_z.jpg

In Italy, I got all excited and ran over to the booth as soon as I saw it!

I'm 50% Italian and feel a connection to my people due to their flawless looking men and flawless tasting food.

I chose the ravioli and the chocolate cannoli. I also requested that the man who sold it to me come home with me but it didn't really work out.

He wasn't even the hottest one around. Now, in a normal situation he would be the most attractive person for MILES. But the World Showcase is not normal.

THE PLACE WAS SWARMING WITH HOT FOREIGNERS!

@babybritney: I just made out with 4 Italian cast members. Yes, in a row. Maybe not physically, but in my mind. Prego.

After the various make out sessions, it was time to devour my food!!

8389746867_070784a539_z.jpg

Let me tell you something about this ravioli. This is not your average ravioli, okay?

This is a divine creation.

There is a layer of beef at the bottom, and then a layer of cheese, and then four big ravioli, followed by another layer of beef, and topped with cheese.

SO IT WAS REALLY LIKE A RAVIOLI LASAGNA.

I don't even know, you guys.

I DON'T EVEN KNOW. I WANTED TO PASS OUT IT WAS SO GOOD.

I got it several other times this trip. Like with everything they do, Disney took something simple like ravioli and turned it into a mind boggling pile of deliciousness.

8389746701_e0ef84901d_z.jpg

The cannoli was wonderful too, though I'm pretty picky when it comes to Italian desserts since my dad's friend owns the BEST Italian bakery in New Jersey. So it wasn't THE BEST. Though, it was a chocolate cannoli in Disney World. No complaints here.

There wasn't a lot of seating so we went to the back of the pavilion so I could sit down and eat. We ended up near one of the doors that lead backstage and sat elevated just a bit off the ground on a planter.

There was a tiny frog nearby that all the kids in the area were obsessed with, so of course I joined in since I am a child!

8462011651_f4a19ae8b6.jpg

He was so cute and small! I just wanted him to go into the greenery so no one would accidentally step on him. So I just kind of gently eased him over in the planter. I mean, I know he would probably hop out of it soon anyway, but I just felt better getting him to safety even for a brief time. After he was safely off the pavement, I continued eating.

Italian CMs kept passing us and going into the backstage door and coming out, on and on and on. We were slightly in the way but there was like nowhere else to comfortably eat so I just made sure I wasn't blocking anyone from getting through and enjoyed my ravioli heaven!!!

I wondered if something was going on but I was too immersed in my food to even ask.

SUDDENLY, a parade of fabulously dressed Italians came BURSTING out of the door playing tambourines and accordions.

I am not making this up.

Lee-Anne and I just looked at each other and then EXPLODED with laughter.

It was the most random thing ever but also we should have expected it.

Three of them were probably Hanson in drag just stalking us like usual.

In all seriousness though, it was such a W T F moment cause it was just so SUDDEN.

You know? Just like, BOOM, Italian musical parade!

After I finished my food we got up and they were still performing:

8390832032_26c26a4182_z.jpg

Please just imagine if this was your job. And you like, met someone in a bar or something and they were like "Oh, what do you do?" and you're like "I dance around and play the tambourine in Disney."

8389746339_e0596999ef_z.jpg

Check out that guy wearing the red sash and posing. Get on his level.

hahaha I will seriously never forget that moment of the Italians BURSTING through the door though. Try to envision a parade of them suddenly popping out from behind you and parading by making a ton of noise and just being generally amazing. IT WAS TOO HILARIOUS.

At this point I needed another beer.

8390831658_4a84abbacb_z.jpg

I got this in Germany. I'm pretty sure it was the Hoegaarden (the name alone meant I had to choose that one) but it was actually my least favorite of the three. That surprised me because I thought German beer was supposed to wondrous. I still liked it but I probably wouldn't order it again.

As we walked on, we had to stop because they were raising the bridge to bring the barge out for Illuminations!

8390831382_7410b7269f_z.jpg

8389745689_8c228204bc_z.jpg

It was really cool to see that up close!

Timon wasn't really concerned with the whole thing. He was too busy enjoying his latest beverage!

8466796567_b1e19cc136_z.jpg

@babybritney: Hula Timon, not ME, has had too many International beers today...and Hula Timon, not ME, should cool it.

Up Next: Visiting my Best Friend! <3

Awhh, you know if I wasn't already planning 2 massive trips this year I totally would :rotfl:
Speaking of.... we are heading to New York in December (if all goes to plan) so you should totally play tour guide for a day or two if youre free...and around...and want to

Thomas Kincade is AMAZING!!! And that piece is beyond beautiful!!!

You seriously have me in stitches!!!!:rotfl2:
How did I live all these years and not know about Chedder Cheese Soup??? I feel like I am failing at life!!

That is so funny about the beer!! It kind of just fits right with the vibe though!

Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey looks to die for!!!!
Cheese is pretty much my favourite food in the WORLDDDD!!! This is ridiculous that it is not in my mouth right now!!

Heellllooo phonebox Lia! I love the randomness of this photo but you look so freaking happy that its great!!

I actually really like your lurker character photos. Sometimes you get better ones when you just skulk around in the background :rotfl:

*SINGS ALONG*

I know I have said this in EVERY update so far but still.... LOOK AT THAT SKY!!!
Ugh it just looks so perfect!! Where is my damn teleporter!!!

I'm excited to hear about the rest...and more beer:lmao:

Um YES!!! I would love to show you all the fab places I hang out! Just remind me when it gets closer to that time so I can try and be free when you are here!! Yay! Have you ever been to NYC before?

Oh man. I wouldn't say you are FAILING at life but you are certainly missing out on an integral part of it!! YOU GOTTA HAVE THE SOUP!!!

 You're right, it did fit the vibe!

It was delicious! Wow, if cheese is your favorite food it is just a travesty that you've never had Cheddar Cheese Soup!

I know right?? I love candid character photos.

If you find your teleporter please let me use it!! I know I'm going in 2 months but it's just not soon enough!! :headache:

There is definitely more beer! In fact I just posted the next update and it includes a very interstingly named beer. ;D

I love knowing how authentic the WS pavilions look! Lee-Ann's reaction to Japan sounds awesome!

I do watch a lot of Food Network too, so I thought Lobster Rolls were pretty common too! But I'm glad Lee-Ann enjoyed hers! And your pumpkin mousse looks really good too!

Too bad you weren't able to be front row at Hanson. Those lines for the concerts get SO long, I could never give up that much Epcot time to wait like that!

I think it's a sign that I have a Disney problem (not that it's a *real* problem) when I look at the bridge picture and think, "oh wow! She really hit a good day at Epcot! Look at how uncrowded it is!"

I can't until wait until you get the Hanson show update! I've been checking H.net everyday for updates on the tour and new album... going crazy over here!!!!! :yay:

Oh just wait, she went crazy once we explored the pavilion more later on and fill me in on a lot more info!

LOL yeah I included that in the report cause I wanted to see if other people would be like "YEAH DUH, LOBSTER ROLLS" or "WHAT THE F ARE LOBSTER ROLLS?"

Ah it's okay. We had a blast anyway, especially on their 2nd round of shows! (Which we also weren't 1st row for but it didn't matter!)

I think it's a sign that I have a Disney problem (not that it's a *real* problem) when I look at the bridge picture and think, "oh wow! She really hit a good day at Epcot! Look at how uncrowded it is!"

hahaha it was lovely! There were hardly any lines for the F&W booths and if there were it was one or two people! Going on the weekend is a WHOLE other story though, that's when the festival is bombarded by the Florida locals and you can barely move.

I can't until wait until you get the Hanson show update! I've been checking H.net everyday for updates on the tour and new album... going crazy over here!!!!! :yay:

Aww, me too! I'm dying for some tour dates! The Hanson show update may not be that exciting cause the 2nd round of shows were SO much better, so when I get to the next day that'll really be the one to look out for. :D

Aw man, food and wine looks so awesome!! I wish I had been able to go this past year, it all looks so amazing!! And yummy!! I can't say I've ever had a lobster roll, but it looks pretty delicious! And that soup! UGH, I die for that soup, so tasty!!

How funny about the impromptu Italian band!? And seriously, I think any kind of Disney job would be awesome, like "what do you do" "Oh i get to hang out in castles and with some crazy chipmunks all day, maybe venture into wonderland occasionally, no biggie!"

I just stumbled upon your TR and just about DIED seeing Hanson in your intro! I'm OBSESSED!! I stopped reading right there to post about it, so here I go to read your TR!

New subscriber! I just caught up with this super fun TR! It's weird, but I totally read it in a different "voice" than my own--I could feel your energy and excitement in each update!
