Just found out that Wishes is being replace. This is my all time favorite fireworks show. I was so looking forward to seeing this when we stay at BLT in September! WAAAAHH!

I heard that is it only being replaced for the summer as part of the Summer nightastic celebration. If I am correct, then Wishes should be back in Sept. If you are going after Labor Day weekend, then you should be able to see Wishes from your BLT room! I'll keep my fingers crossed for you!

On the bright side, since you will be there in September, you can experience two different fireworks shows at MK.

MNSSHP on event nights (which I think are normally Tuesday and Friday in September).
On non-MNSSHP nights, they will have the standard MK fireworks.

In December, we were surprised to see the difference between Wishes and MVMCP fireworks.

Wishes is my favorite too, but I'm looking forward to seeing the other fireworks in the summer. You may be lucky and see Wishes in September.

Sure, we all love Wishes, but I am hard pressed to remember many Disney shows that didn't make me say WOW!

That's great to hear Wishes will return in September! Okay, now I feel better. Forgot about the different fireworks for the Halloween season. That should be fun too!!!

Wishes is nice, but honestly, to me it's getting tired and it's time for a change. I was sad when the old Fantasy in the Sky was retired, but then we got better fireworks shows and I wasn't so sad anymore. The guy that originally created Wishes went on to create even more spectacular fireworks shows for Disneyland after Wishes - kind of Wishes on steroids (both regular season and holiday season shows that are astounding) - that honestly when compared side to side, leave Wishes way behind. Since he's part of this whole process, whatever gets put in at the MK during the summer this year will be very good no doubt. Some changes Disney decides to make can be a bummer, yes, but sometimes they happily surprise and it turns out ok that they went forward with the change. My bet is that it will be a good change.

But I was there in Dec too.....the holiday fireworks are so cool !! Was one of the highlights of our trip !

The holiday fireworks that replace Wishes. They usually start around the 21'st of December if I remember and are they the same fireworks as MVMCP, only minus the finale when the fireworks encircle the MK?

I know this may be blasphemy, but I hope they do replace wishes! IMHO, I find wishes a little too cheesy. Also, when you go every year, it would be nice to see something new every now and then.

Oh, a change would be nice!

Honestly, I had to learn to love Wishes, and that was only because my boys love it and it pulls my heartstrings thinking about them watching it. To me, the show has the fireworks too clustered. I don't like the calm one shot here, one there fireworks... I want Giant pom poms, crackles and color overhead all the time!

From what I've heard the last time for Wishes until fall is June 6 (read it elsewhere no scoop by me). We'll be there at that time so we may try to see both shows back to back so I'll get the chance to judge them against each other. I too like wishes and my DD and I watch it on youtube from time to time just to get our fix, but it may be nice to have some variety.

Well, even if they DO replace Wishes sooner or later, let's hope they replace it AFTER my trip to WDW at the end of May. I've never had the chance to see it, and I want to be able to say that I HAVE seen it before and not feel left out. I've seen it on youtube, and I love it so much that I tear up, so seeing it in person will be even more emotional for me.

I must start by saying that after more trips than I can count, the sight of the castle and the first tune from Wishes makes me cry EVERY time!

However, having been so many times, I am looking forward to a change! The Happiest Celebration on Earth fireworks at Disnelyand blew Wishes & Illuminations out of the water!!

If the sameguy does a new spin, I'm sure it will be AMAZING!!

That said, I will always look forward to watching Wishes when it returns!
