I got the recipe from our groomer (I mean the dog's groomer). Luddy loves them!

1 and 1/2 cups whole-wheat flour
1 and 1/4 cups shredded cheese (cheddar or mix monterey jack cheddar)
1/4 lb. (one stick) margarine or butter
1 tablespoon minced garlic (I used a little less)
1 tsp. salt (I just used a dash- low sodium diet for my doggy)
small amount of milk

-Let cheese and margarine stand until room temperature (on top of dryer works well), or you can microwave a few seconds until they're just softened but not melted
-Mix with garlic, salt and flour. Add enough milk to form into a ball (like cookie dough). Chill for 1/2 hour in fridge, or freezer for 10-15 minutes.
-Roll out dough. Cut into shapes and bake at 375 degrees for 12-15 minutes or until slightly browned and firm. Makes about 100 small treats. Keep in fridge, or freeze extras.

*I used the really small cookie cutters from Pampered Chef. I'm putting some in plastic eggs to hand out tomorrow for our families' dogs. They don't taste bad at all. (I'm not a freak, it's not like there's Alpo in them LOL). I would say they're much healthier than the processed treats you buy. :dog2:
