I'M JUST SHOWBOATIN' AROUND THE WORLD! & getting pooped on. Jan 13 TR! NEW TR POSTED!

Drool. Those pastries. Yum, yum, YUM!

Aha hahahah! I was pooped on by a seagull when I was at the Jersey shore once, and I am still skeeved out 10 years later, but it becomes such a funny story!

Aww your Photopass pics are adorable! :lovestruc

Isn't the Morocco pavilion amazing? We never spent much time there either until about 2 or 3 trips ago, and now I love it! I spend so much time just wandering around and looking at everything, it's so pretty! Such amazing details!

AHHH I can't believe you got pooped on! That's so gross! I can't lie though, it's happened to me before, although I wasn't in Disney, and I was a kid! :rotfl2: At least you and the CM made a joke out of it and you still got your American Dream! I have to get one of those on my next trip! :thumbsup2

Too bad we aren't related... anyone in my family who gets pooped on always ends up finding money later on in the day! :D

Eww, gross! At least you didn't get any on your skin. Yuck! I think you probably made that CM's day though :rotfl:

I've been reading lurking for a while, but never posted anything. The poop pushed me over the edge and I had to chime in:lmao:

BTW, I read your other TR's from you siggie and I have a question. Where did you get the Disney luggage tags with your names? I love them!

I just wanted to call in and let you know how much I'm enjoying your trip report!! I just got to the Be Out Guest meal, it looks amazing!

I have to be honest- you are making me want to go to DW. I'm a pretty loyal Disneyland fan, but there is some awesome stuff to be seen in Florida.

And speaking of Disneyland, I am super jealous! I'm sooo green with envy that you get to stay in the Grand Californian! We are going to Disneyland a few weeks after you guys, and we managed to book 6 nights in the BWPPI family suite for just over $1000. Just for grins and giggles, I decided to price it at the GC- for my family of 7 it was $9,700!!! OUCH! (I'm thinking it will be the perfect place for my husband and I to beat the empty nest blues when our youngest kid goes to college- too bad you can't reserve rooms for the year 2029 yet!)

I have yet to ever be in the France bakery! I’ll at least stop by next time to check it all out!

I LOVE THAT FOUNTAIN! Days when there’s a pp there, my life is made! I really want dance pictures there, it’s so pretty! Cuuuute pics! I need to take more pictures INSIDE the countries in WS…goal next trip!

Oh my gosh I’m glad that your getting pooped on adventure still had some hilarity to it! HA! Poopagedon! That’s gold.

Oh man, we loved that bakery! It's so good and we ended up visiting it a lot more during our trip!

I so agree, that fountain is just perfect. Good goal! We spent a lot of time checking out all of the countries this trip and I'm happy we did!

Bahaha, yeah, it did. It was disgusting but hilarious. :rotfl:

:rotfl2: At least you were able to make light of the being pooped on thing...And it didn't get on your skin!!!!

Hahaha, yeah exactly. It was gross but kind of hilarious.

Dani, what kind of camera do you have? Your pics are AMAZING.

Thank you so much! :) I use a Nikon D5100, and all of my shots were taken on my 35mm f/1.8 lens, which is a fantastic lens!

AHHHAHAHAHAHA! I'm so sorry but that was too funny!

Now watch karma get me on my trip! I rebuke you poop karma!

I'm so happy about the new pastry shop in France. They DEFINITELY needed more space.

Hahahaha, it's all good. I was laughing at it, too!

I hope karma does not attack you in the form of bird poop! :rotfl:

OMG, no kidding, it's so good and spacious, too!

Those food pics are making me hungry! :p

That's the thing; whenever I do these updates and look at the food photos, I get so hungry! Hahaha.

God Dani, in the photopass photo I can actually FEEL THE HAPPY!. :)

Ahhhh you got pooped on... That's what you get for showboatin'! ;)

I may have to try that drink in, I don't know, tomorrow! It looks delish. :thumbsup2

Awww thank you! I loved some of the photos he got that day!

Bahaha, yes I did. The showboatin' part comes way later on our trip, but yes, it was highly unfortunate!!

OMGGGG you are Disney right now, right?! So jealous! I hope you get to try it!!

Another great update! (It would be so easy to make a poop joke, but I'lll refrain...)

Morocco is one of those amazing places at World Showcase. Our first time we were just blown away by how it totally made us feel like we were somewhere far from Florida, to the point of almost being uncomfortable, but still amazing... We have the American Dream on our September Snack list. It was on our list last time but we never got to it, we'll have to try harder this time, and definitely visit the French Bakery too.

Hahaha, joke away! It was quite absurd and hilarious.

I so agree with you on Morocco! It's so amazing! Good idea on putting the American Dream on your list; it's definitely a great drink for when you're hot. And yes, the French bakery is a must-do!! We really loved eating there!

Ah Remy, so adorable! Chefs is the only appropriate restaurant to see a rat while you eat and its ok. :rotfl:

I can't believe you got bombed by the seagull! Isn't that considered good luck though?! :thumbsup2

That American Dream drink sounds yummy! Last time I had the Doofenslurper so I could drink from an Erlenmeyer flask, because I'm a nerd. :rotfl:

Hahaha so true! We love Remy!

Ugh, it was so gross... but yes, someone else told me it was lucky to be pooped on by a bird?! So bizarre, but I guess that's good. :confused3 :rotfl:

The American Dream is SUPER delish! Hahaha, I'm a nerd, too, and I think that flask kind of looks awesome.

LOL ughhhhh how gross!!! At least you were able to have your American Dream after that!! :rotfl:

It really was so gross, but also hilarious, hahaha. Thaaat's kind of my life for ya.

WOW. Okay, so wow. I wasn't even planning on stopping by Les Halles to be honest. But after seeing these pictures... YUP, I'll make a stop there. Yup.

Morocco is so gorgeous, totally agree. :thumbsup2

OMG. Oh yuck yuck yuck!!! Poop is not a fun substance. But the good news is that you took it in stride and were able to laugh about it. Thank goodness for the CM making you laugh!

OMG you have to! It's so good there.. and more photos to come!

Hahaha no it was so gross but all I could do was laugh. Otherwise I probably would have just cried and then looked like a hot mess standing there with poop on my sleeve crying in The American Adventure. Bahahaha.

Last big trip we went on ... I think 2010?? I got pooped on - my right arm .... On the skin. Brett laughed at me and I stood there shocked and disgusted and speechless. Gross. After I sanitized my body and found words to express my emotions I eventually laughed too. But it's still gross and I swear I can still feel the exact spot on my arm where it happened. Eewwww

UGH well you know I feel your pain! I can so remember the sharp feeling of the poop hitting my sleeve, too! SO GROSS and traumatizing!

Oh noo I can't believe you got popped on! At least you got a CM who made the situation laughable! He coulda been totally awkward about it which would've made it worse!

At the American Dream looks really yummy! That's going on my list for September!

PS I totally stalked you on Instagram. I'm @RNCourtney over there!

Hahaha, it was highly unfortunate but thankfully the CM just made me laugh instead.

Oh it's SO good! Totally an awesome drink, and I think it will be perfect in September!!

I stalked you back, YAY!

Hey that's me! I'm super stoked you liked the American Dream. Is it bad that I'm contemplating driving to Orlando right now for one?!

And Morocco is more than likely my favorite pavilion in the WS. I just love the king's involvement and being so stoked to be a part Epcot that he sent his royal craftsmen to do the tile and art!

Is it SeptembMarch yet?

Hey, yes it is! And no, it's not bad, because I'M considering driving to Orlando right now for one. SO THERE YOU GO.

Morocco is awesome and I agree about the King's involvement. Like, that dude wanted to do it RIGHT.

NOPE BUT IT SURE NEEDS TO BE.

Trying to get caught up on everyone's TR's...so much happens around here in a week's time! Not only are you going back to DL, you also got pooped on in World Showcase!! :lmao: I'm glad the CM could make you laugh about it, because honestly I would have just dissolved into tears probably. I actually have been pooped on before on a school field trip (on my actual SKIN!) and it is horrifying!!

:woohoo: on going back to DL! And staying on-site! :yay::dance3: That's amazing! I am so jealous. :goodvibes

Oh man, no worries. I'm in the same boat, I keep falling behind and then feel bad. Wompwomp. But yes, trip to DL, and getting pooped on. What a terrific combo! Thankfully I could laugh it off because it was pretty gross.

I am so excited about DL and staying on-site! It's going to be amazing. :goodvibes

It's appropriate that I'm reading this entry today, because over the weekend I had a bird poop on my iPhone. Guess he was an Android fan.

Hahaha, what the heck?! Welp, glad he didn't crap on you or your hand!

Drool. Those pastries. Yum, yum, YUM!

Aha hahahah! I was pooped on by a seagull when I was at the Jersey shore once, and I am still skeeved out 10 years later, but it becomes such a funny story!

I know, I was staring at those photos just wondering why I couldn't be eating them right now. WHHYYYY?

Hahaha, yeah, at least you can laugh off being pooped on, even if it's horrifying at first!

Aww your Photopass pics are adorable! :lovestruc

I have to get one of those on my next trip! :thumbsup2

Aw thanks lady! I like them pretty well. :)

Yeah, it's just beautiful! And the details really are awesome. I really love World Showcase.

Yeah, it was disgusting buuuut at least we laughed about it, hahaha. Plus the American Dream made up for it! So good.

Too bad we aren't related... anyone in my family who gets pooped on always ends up finding money later on in the day! :D

Hahaha, so it IS true about the luck thing! Wish we were, I wouldn't argue finding money later on in the day! :lmao:

Eww, gross! At least you didn't get any on your skin. Yuck! I think you probably made that CM's day though :rotfl:

I've been reading lurking for a while, but never posted anything. The poop pushed me over the edge and I had to chime in:lmao:

Yeah, super gross. He thought it was pretty hysterical though! :rotfl:

I'm so glad you decided to post though, and of all things, poop was what made it all happen! So I guess I should be thankful I got crapped on, hahaha.

Thanks for the wonderful compliment.. because I made them! Yup, all by myself, haha. And I made them in Microsoft Word actually! They're not too hard to make at all.

I just wanted to call in and let you know how much I'm enjoying your trip report!! I just got to the Be Out Guest meal, it looks amazing!

Thank you so very much for popping in and leaving this comment! BOG was such an awesome experience!! Hope to see more of you! :goodvibes

I have to be honest- you are making me want to go to DW. I'm a pretty loyal Disneyland fan, but there is some awesome stuff to be seen in Florida.

WDW really is amazing! DL and WDW are so different from one another, and both have their wonderful unique experiences that I think any Disney fan should check out at some point!

OMG, I still can't even believe we are staying there. Like, it doesn't feel real! That sounds like an AWESOME rate that you guys got at BWPPI though! 6 nights for 1k in a family suite?! Seriously awesome! But oh man, that price at GCH is kind of crazy! I'm glad we're able to do it by using DVC points, though I feel extremely lucky I was able to even make the reservation!

That sounds like a good plan for 2029, hahaha. :thumbsup2

Chapter Twenty-Eight: I thiiiink I might have just made Goofy's day!
Day 5: January 21st, 2013

We left off with Bruce finally making his way back over to Epcot to meet up with us in World Showcase! After a little chitchatting, we decided to go check out Mitsukoshi, since Bruce hadn't been in there yet! Of course he and Matt were checking out everything in the store, surprise surprise.

We messed around with some random water paint thingies and I admired all of the neat flower lights.

file_zpsc5a1f4e4.jpg

file_zps4479a718.jpg

We went through The American Adventure (and no poop tragedies occured this time!)... This photo actually shows the exact spot where the poop attack had occurred... Right near where those drummers were!

ALSO NOTE THE CRAZY SEAGULL FLYING ABOVE IN THE PHOTO! For all we know, he may have been the culprit.

file_zpsb3091cfb.jpg

Matt decided to stop for some coffee in The American Adventure. While I was waiting, I noticed a TON of characters just out and about right in between Italy and The American Adventure.

There were VERY few people in the area, so of course I dragged both Matt and Bruce over with me. Matt was happy to take photos though!

I first met with Gideon, who was too adorable. Matt was juggling taking video AND photos on my camera, so this photo didn't come out fabulous, but you saw the video we took of me meeting Gideon! It was very exciting to meet him since I've never seen him out and about in the parks.

file_zpse070e341.jpg

Goofy was next... and it worked out perfectly that I was wearing my Goofy bow this day!

In the first photo, I was telling Goofy about my bow!

file_zps4f1a63fd.jpg

These next photos show Goofy's reaction... basically adorable.

file_zpsfa0487f4.jpg

file_zpse547f34f.jpg

I love Goofy!! He's a total goober just like me.

file_zps0607abc0.jpg

Next was PLUTO! I had such an amazing interaction with him on our trip in 2012. He was so cute! This time he gave me a big hug and we kept it pretty simple for photos... but he IS my favorite pup!

file_zpsaf97eab5.jpg

I am fairly certain this area is for character training, so some of the interactions may not be as amazing. HOWEVER, that being said, this is the PERFECT place to meet lots of random characters, and even harder to find ones like Gideon! It's also fantastic because the lines tend to be pretty much non-existent. Most people don't even notice the characters meeting in this area, so I was happy it'd caught my eye!

After saying goodbye to the adorable gang, we made our way over to Germany! I always love stopping by this little miniature area. It's always fascinating to me for some reason.

file_zpseb2b867f.jpg

file_zps47df622f.jpg

file_zpsd1f3da5e.jpg

file_zps2bdf7483.jpg

Imagine if you were the CM that had to go in and clean that whole area? Hahaha, I feel like it would be so difficult. I'd probably just pretend I was Godzilla, but not actually smash stuff.

ANYWAY, we moved along, enjoying the sights of Germany...

file_zpsb716c0c3.jpg

And onward we went to China!

China is another country that we BARELY went through in the past, so I was glad to explore more of it. It's such a beautiful pavilion!

file_zpsa0c0c544.jpg

file_zps2ce81d87.jpg

I hope you are ready for the most unique shot you will find in China... are you ready?

file_zps916b7c91.jpg

HAHAHA, sorry, had to do it. Everyone takes that shot in China! BUT it's kind of a must-do because of how pretty it is!

ANYWAY, I was just really enjoying everything in that pavilion. It's just gorgeous.

file_zps963655d1.jpg

file_zps9164b020.jpg

file_zps25b89e7e.jpg

file_zps5fc6615e.jpg

At this point I was starting to get really tired and my feet were killing me, so we decided to skip Mexico for now, and give Canada a quick visit.

file_zps4b6a7a03.jpg

file_zps3cf8f879.jpg

Then I finally hit my wall. I was just cranky and needed a break.

Honestly, I am all about really getting the most out of Disney, but sometimes you just hit that wall where you NEED a break. You need to just lay down in your room for a few and chill out. I had hit it hard, and fortunately both Matt and Bruce totally understood.

We got back to the room and I just totally crashed. I don't think I'd ever been to happy to be laying in that bed, haha. I didn't take a nap though, but I did relax my feet and put a little Stacey on.

Chapter Twenty-Nine: Know what I mean, Beaches and Cream?
Day 5: January 21st, 2013

After some quiet time, we were both hungry and it was around 5:45, so we got ourselves ready to head out! I was feeling much better, but my feet were still really sad.

So I did something that I DO NOT DO. I am a total sneaker snob and get really picky about socks and how they look with sneakers when wearing shorts. I made the most ridiculous fashion choice you will ever see, but it had to be done.

I wore socks, with Crocs, with shorts on.

This was so ridiculous I had to take a photo of it. I looked like a major dork.

file_zps9eed150d.jpg

BUT I DID NOT CARE. My feet were hurting way too much from my sneakers and I wanted to avoid blisters, so crocs with socks was happening!

We were in Disney, and I was not giving one heck as to how absurd I looked this very night.

Unfortunately Bruce and Amy were not able to make it down to dinner, and I think Bruce joined Amy for a nap, so Matt and I headed down alone to Beaches and Cream!

We lucked out in that it wasn't very busy at all, so we were seated in a booth immediately.

I ordered a cherry Coke, and Matt decided to join me on that. This was kind of a big deal since Matt does NOT drink any form of soda (he stopped drinking it 2 years ago). But when you're in Disney World and you're at Beaches and Cream, a cherry Coke just sounds perfect... so he made an exception.

file_zpsff934339.jpg

file_zps899343d1.jpg

file_zpsa68142ed.jpg

Shortly after, we ordered our food, and then looked at the song selections. Matt decided to request a song, which I cannot remember right now, but I do know they played it while we were eating!

file_zps09899811.jpg

I LOVE the decor in Beaches and Cream. You feel like you are sitting in a 1950s soda shop.

file_zps7f883072.jpg

file_zps18573512.jpg

Soon enough, our food was out! We both went with a bacon cheeseburger with onion rings.

file_zpsa2243006.jpg

GAH I love their burgers and onion rings there! They are so amazingly good. I could really go for some right now, actually... Man.

Anyway, we really enjoyed our meal and as much as we missed Bruce and Amy and hoped she felt better soon, it WAS really nice to have a meal with just the two of us.

Obviously, we made sure to save room for dessert, because it really isn't a trip to Beaches and Cream unless you get some ice cream!

We decided to go with our usual; we split the No Way Jose!

file_zps75e4db27.jpg

It comes with peanut butter and hot fudge and that peanut butter sauce is TO DIE FOR.

file_zps6b36e783.jpg

I'm fairly certain when I took that photo of Matt he was telling me to hurry up so we could eat! Hahaha.

We enjoyed the heck out of that sundae, and paid for our meal, super full and quite content.

We LOVE Beaches and Cream. It's an absolute must-do on every trip. The atmosphere and the food is always great, and it's always a perfect place to relax and grab a bite before heading out to either Epcot or Hollywood Studios.

Next, we end our night at a park and make some fancy purchases, OOH LALA!

Continued in next post

Next time you are in the China pavilion see the movie. It is really beautiful !!

I love your story about the Crocs with socks. I have a similar shoe story from our trip to Washington DC, standing in line at the White House for the tour. I completely horrified the formally dressed woman who was behind me in line. She slowly looked me up and down, twice. :rotfl2: I was wearing black, cotton ankle socks and Clark's brand mules, with shorts:thumbsup2, but my swollen, blistered feet were not hurting, and that's ALL I cared about at that point.

I love all of your pictures from World Showcase, the details are really fun to see. The ice cream that you and Matt shared looks sooooo good.

AWW, Goofy is so precious! I still think it's awesome that you saw Gideon! I'm gonna have to be on the lookout over there! :thumbsup2

Beaches and Cream is the cutest little place! OH. Chocolate and peanut butter. No better combination on earth.

I really hope Amy will be feeling better in your next update or so!

So, when I was younger (like, maybe ages 6-8) I refused to wear sandals WITHOUT socks. I know, I'm ashamed, and I'm currently in the process of destroying all photographic evidence. But I have really sweaty feet, and when I was younger it bothered me how I my feet would start sliding around in the sandal, and if I wore socks that didn't happen. Soooo, yeah. Luckily I got a clue and now am just like you...extremely conscious of what my socks look like if I'm wearing shorts. Though now I mismatch them, because it makes me happy. Seriously, have you been to Little Miss Matched in DTD??? It's heaven on earth for me.

Though that No Way Jose sounds AMAZING!!! I might have to try one in December. I'm in love with pretty much any combination of peanut butter and chocolate. I devour mini Reeses by the bagful. And I wonder why my jeans are getting tighter....

And ok, shameless promotion here, but please feel free to check out my PTR. It's been pretty quiet and you can learn more about me haha!

When my DD was 3, she wanted to wear socks with sandals and I told her that it would look silly and no one does that, she told me "Mom, they wear them like that in China!!!"

So I let her wear socks with her sandals.

How awesome that you stumbled upon all those characters!! DS is character crazy, so that has kind of made DH and I character crazy also as we try to find whatever ones we can for him to meet. I'm so surprised to see that they had Gideon of all characters out!! I'll have to make sure I stay aware of my surroundings in World Showcase so I don't miss something like that going on while we are there.

You got some really beautiful pics of the pavilions. I have still never really been inside the China pavilion, I don't think.

Beaches & Cream looks heavenly, especially that No Way Jose!! I always put B&C as a tentative place for us to eat on our trips, and it just never works out for us. Maybe one of these days...
