Thanks!

hi and welcome, 50's prime Time should be done soon...

Am I the only one that cannot see pics?

so pleased to see you, you are the food review Queen!:worship:, but disappointed you can't see the pics. perhaps I've done something wrong but I can see them perfectly:confused3. I don't use photobucket so could that be it? the pics are in my Dibb gallery, and I upload from there? can I create a Dis album/gallery? or perhaps it's the search engine? are you using firefox?

I can't see pictures either. :confused3

hi and welcome, sorry you can't see the pics....I'm using firefox?

Thanks for the compliment ...I am loving your reviews but would love to see pics too...I always use Photobucket, I tried loading them from a file on my computer but that didnt work so I popped the $40 and subscribe to Photobucket and it works out great for all types of websites......

Even if I cannot see pics I am still following along with ya!

Hi, great start to your review! I am looking forward to more! :thumbsup2

We arrived a few minutes early for our lunch ADR, and were pretty much called straight away, and seated towards the back of the restaurant.

Our server was Connor, although on the receipt the name is Stephen(?), and he was such fun. We had warned the girls about wearing hats/putting elbows on tables etc and they really enjoyed the antics, as did we. (Basically we did the opposite of what we were told:d:).

So, the milkshakes were amazing, really thick and delicious. This is the chocolate malt @ 50's Prime Time at DHS ($4.99):

and next the food popcorn::....

we all shared some onion rings, which were crispy and non greasy:

50's Prime Time @DHS, Beer-Battered Onion Rings for Two - served with horseradish sauce $7.99

DisneyOctober2009-1722.jpg

DH had the Fish Sandwich, $12.49, which he enjoyed:

DisneyOctober2009-1724.jpg

I had Caesar salad with blackened salmon $13.99, totally yummy!

DisneyOctober2009-1725.jpg

DH had a choc fudge sundae for dessert, sorry no pic, but I was just too full.

DD1 had fish of the day (salmon) and fries, DD2 had pasta and butter and fries:blush: and they shared an ice cream for dessert.

This was another fun meal with reasonable food and a good time was had by all. We would return, but in our minds it's more a lunch venue than a dinner place, and the same is true of the food.:yay:

Great update and pics. Can u tell me more about the raspberry dessert you got from Raglan Road? We will be eating there on our next trip. DH hates bread pudding. I am a little disappointed to see the creme brulee (sp?) is not on the menu. I see it on allears.

I love that ceaser with salmon, it's delicious!

totally agree:thumbsup2 I was surprised at how good the salmon was.

what do you mean this?
creme brulee cheesecake tart, wolfgang puck cafe,

because this was gorgeous!

DisneyOctober2009-1948.jpg

for Dundons delight just think of a huge meringue, which was quite soft, not chewy, and raspberry coulis. it was fine, but he wouldn't order it again.

Mmm...mmmm. Loving it!! Enjoying the reviews!:)

thanks, i'm having fun writing them! should have Narcoossees done this weekend!

While that looks wonderful. If you pull up the menu at allears.net you will find this on the menu: Bailey's Créme Brulee Tart - Créme Brulee Irish style $7.99

The other desserts don't appeal to me. :sad2:

Oh well, I do like bread pudding. It used to me one of my favorites but now I can take it or leave it.

The dessert menu you posted doesn't look at all like they have on allears so thanks for doing that.

Can't wait for Narcosses. :)

We left DHS after the Block Bash Parade and had a couple of hours downtime back at the room at OKW before setting out for our ADR at Narcoossees.

We caught a bus to MK and then got the resort launch over to Grand Floridian which was perfect as it comes up to the jetty alongside Narcoossees. It took about 45 minutes from leaving our room at OKW to get there. We checked in a little early and were given a pager, and told that there was a wait. In the end, we waited about 25 mins before being buzzed which was ok but there really isn't much of a waiting area here so that wasn't great, and the area was crowded.

We were sat by a window with a spectacular view of the castle and our waitress that night was Susan who was friendly and efficient. She brought us out a personalised menu with our names on it wishing us a Happy Anniversary which was a nice touch.

I ordered a passion fruit mojito which was really good:

DisneyOctober2009-1726.jpg

DH ordered a pina colava but I don't seem to have a picture of that one. He enjoyed it.

Susan brought out a breadbasket filled with a lovely soft and crusty loaf of sourdough, and the chef came over to discuss the menu in view of our allergies.

DH ordered the cheese plate for his appetiser. He absolutely loved this, and his comments just now when I asked him about it (some 3 weeks on) were "it was exceptional and wonderful and worth the trip alone"! (I think he means the trip to this restaurant from OKW, not from the UK)!

Narcoossees Artisan Cheeses - Humboldt Fog, Cashel Irish Blue, and Tete De Moine $15

I had the pear and endive salad (with walnut and feta) which isn't on the online menus from what I can see. It was light and refreshing:

DisneyOctober2009-1727.jpg

DisneyOctober2009-1728.jpg

DH and I both ordered the whole red snapper, thai style, served with rice, his is the first picture (crispy deep fried) and mine is the second (pan fried) as the chef said the oil they were using might have been used for shellfish.

Crispy whole yellowtail snapper, rice, charred haricot verts and soy-lime vinagrette $35

well, what can I say? I have been fortunate enough to go to Thailand and eat at restaurants out there that are like fish supermarkets where you load your trolley with your fish and accompaniments and then ask the chef to prepare the ingredients exactly to your specification. This dish compared very favourably. It was, quite simply, divine. DH agrees.

We then had a short break when we went outside to the verandah to watch 'Hallowishes' and the electrical water pageant. fantastic!

For dessert I chose the almond crusted cheesecake (mmmmmmmm, this was a delicious combination) and DH had the gelato sampler (also good), and we both had cappucinos as our DxDP drink.

Narcoossees Almond-crusted Cheesecake - with lambert cherry sauce $8

DisneyOctober2009-1732.jpg

Narcoossees Gelato Sampler - chocolate, raspberry, pistachio and cappuccino $7

DisneyOctober2009-1734.jpg

Girls had fruit cup to start, pasta with butter and a jug of marinara sauce on the side, and DD1 had the brownie sundae for dessert. They both cleared their plates and their meals were of course covered by the DDP, BUT I would not be pleased to have paid OOP in the region of $30 incl tip for two small bowls of chopped fruit, mickey pasta and one dessert:rolleyes:.

Stuffed to the gills, we waddled to the monorail back to MK, and bussed back to OKW.

We absolutely LOVED Narcoossees and would not hesitate to return!:thumbsup2

Great reviews and pics ! :goodvibes

Wow ! Those are far and away the best looking onion rings I've ever seen come out of the 50's PT.

We've ordered them twice now, and each time they were, um, what's the word I'm looking for...

Oh yes, *dreadful* . Limp, flavorless, swimming, nay, drowning in grease.

Looks like they have finally improved them. That, or maybe we were just there on "off" nights.

Looking forward to more ! :wizard:

Lovved reading about Narcoosees- we have an ADR there this May and it will be our first time- really excited for it!!

Great reviews- looking forward to more!

I love fish, so when I read your title, I knew I had to stop and read your reviews. The pan-fried Thais-style snapper looks absolutely delish. I am salivating over here. Thanks for posting pics :thumbsup2

Thanks, it was our first time so can't say whether they were improved or whether it's just the way we take our photos:rotfl2:

thanks! i can see you're a Nemo fan too from the line under your name!

Hoping to do Crystal Palace, Kona and Tutto today!popcorn::

We caught the "breakfast" bus to MK at 7.15am, arrived 15 mins later, and headed to the RHS where there was a Q for breakfast reservations. Into an empty Main Street at 7.40am, it was a first for us to see it this empty. We took some photos and sauntered up to check in for our 8.05am ADR. At 8am, Tigger, Eeyore, Piglet and Pooh came and did a welcome ceremony, and a few minutes later we were called in.

This was on the table for our anniversary:love::

DisneyOctober2009-1758.jpg

The buffet was well set up, much better than Chef mickey's IMO, and it was much less frenetic. A chef briefly stopped by to discuss the peanut allergy...basically all the bread products (Wonder brand), bagels and pastries are outsourced, so no guarantees

In the middle of the breakfast buffet area there is a make to order section for omelettes, fried eggs, mickey pancakes (plain and choc chip).

On the children's section there was puffed french toast (like a fried sugary donut) and a breakfast pizza/lasagne.

Usual chopped fruit, bagels, pastries, bread to toast, salmon...no pics of plates, but was all good.

Characters were all well organised and did not feel rushed at all...a really good experience that we'd definitely repeat!popcorn::

After a morning at MK, we watched the Move it Shake it parade and caught the resort monorail to the Poly, arriving on time for our 1.05pm ADR.

We were quickly seated and Chef Brad came out to chat, very friendly. We skipped appetisers as there is not much selection for vegetarians/fish eaters, and we were not that hungry.

For our entree we both chose the miso mahi with bok choy, a very nice light dish, well flavoured and well balanced:

Kona miso glazed mahi mahi

DD1 had Fish of the day (mahi) with french fries, cleaned her plate again!

DD2 had mickey cheese ravioli with marinara sauce on the side. She only really grazed at this....either didn't like it or was not hungry.

For dessert, DH ordered the white chocolate cheesecake, which was excellent.

I took one for the team and ate DD1's fruit salad so that she could have the Kona cone. She really enjoyed it.

DD2 ordered the kids sundae and they substituted the M&M's for candy floss (cotton candy) because of the peanut allergy so she was thrilled.

We had a very nice lunch at Kona, and relaxed and recharged with some nice food and good service.
