I'm back from the wedding!

Hey CBer's. I missed you all. Sarah did not have Internet, so I was totally cut off. Bummer for me.

The wedding was beautiful. I'll post pics as soon as Stephen's sister sends me some. I took my digital camera, but, as the mother of the bride, I was so stressed and busy, I only took two pics.

Sarah and Matt are now at WDW. They sent me a pic from their phone of Sarah sitting at Fantasmic. I talked to them Sunday evening because they could not find the Mears desk. She told me they got a free upgrade at the Airport Marriott in Kansas City to an executive suite and free parking for their car all week as a congrats on their honeymoon, so that's fun.

I sent them a box of goodies with bride and groom mickey hats. They said they'd wear them, so hopefully they'd get a little pixie dust there too.

Glad to be home, but now I have to pack my house and move by June 11 because we sold it just before I left. Whew, I am tired!

The wedding was simple, but beautiful. Ceremony and reception were both at the church Sarah works at. They said she could have a dance, so that was fun, and unusual in a church. Roses, rose petals, tulle and white lights were the only decorations. The reception was in the gym, but we had so many white lights hung all over that with the main lights off, it looked like a night sky. (I purchased all the lights at Hobby Lobby after Christmas for 75 - 80% off!) Her bridesmaids were all in pink.

Sarah's dad was a basketcase the day of the wedding. He loves Matt, but it's hard for a dad go "give away" his daughter. I finally took him to a Sunday school room, alone, and brought Sarah to him, they spent 15 minutes or so alone and crying. After that they both did a lot better. I didn't cry until they danced at the reception. It takes a lot to make me cry, but that was so precious to see them dancing and crying. The wedding was at 4, and they left the reception at 7:30, exhausted, happy and starving. My brother gave them a picnic basket as a wedding present filled with cheese, meat, sweets and a bottle of wine because he figured they wouldn't get a chance to eat, and he was right. Sarah said that basket was a life saver.

She was so beautiful. Of course, I am prejudice, but she was. She wore my diamond solitaire necklace on a tiny white ribbon for something borrowed, a hanky from Matt's great grandma who died when he was 9 at age 95 for something old, she had blue undies for something blue and her roommate (who was a brides maid) bought her a K-State garter for something new. Matt just graduated from K-State the week prior and is a huge fan, so he was pretty happy when he saw the garter. Matt read a poem to Sarah just before she threw the bouquet about the 10 things that remind him of her. It was funny and sweet and she was very touched.

All in all a wonderful day!
