I'm back! Family trip with DDE, Aug 13-20! Pics included, of course! updated 11/2

the food in san angel looks very nice. its not somewhere we are going this trip but after reading your review, it may be included on future trips.

I didnt know about the free cookie at sunshine seasons. Its ds's birthday whilst we are away so i will remember to go pick one up. Thanks!!

Great update. We're also giving San Angel a try, so pleased to see your positive review of it.

Ohh I love San Angel! It's always close to the top of my list. San Angel + Illuminations is always one of my favorite ways to start a Disney trip :)

We love the San Angel Inn - it's our traditional first night at Disney restaurant! And your fish dinner looked familiar - think I had it the last time. Was it red snapper? It looks delish!

We're also going to give San Angel a try for ourselves in December....I'm glad to hear you liked it as it does get so many mixed reviews :thumbsup2

excellent, i hope you enjoy it as much as we did!

Great reviews again Marsh!! I am going twice next year, and when we all go in September we are doing Tusker House , DD's friend who is also coming with her 2 kids is a huge Mickey fan. I did it when it was Donald's Breakfastsaurus and we liked it . Can't wait to try Tusker House out !!

thanks rosie :flower3: , the tusker house will be so much fun for the kids!

Despite some previous negative reviews, San Angel Inn actually looks pretty good. I love lamb and that dish your brother had looks really nice.

Shame your Mom didn't get her pretzel but a free birthday cookie can't be a bad alternative ;)

Thanks for another great round of reviews :)

yeah he really loved it, and he likes to think he knows his lamb pretty well. and thanks!

50's Prime Time Cafe, snack/dinner/drinks, 8.17.08

So this day, we spent mostly with my grandfather. We knew we'd have an early "dinner" with him around 4pm (gotta love old people eating hours!), I figured we'd be ready for something again, so I booked my favorite place, 50's PTC for 9:15pm. I figured that'd give us enough time to hit the 10:30 Fantasmic! if we wanted. But Stephen told Chris it wasn't worth it, so we ended up not rushing.

Our server was Memory, and she was nice. My fav waiter again wasn't there. So I'm really hoping he will be in November! We really just felt like snacking, so we ordered some appys. My mom got the shrimp coctail, which she's had before, and really enjoys.

I got a salad and a crabcake. I didn't take a pic of the crabcake, as I'm pretty sure there was one from our lunch here...see above somewhere!
pic605.jpg

Pretty sure the boys ordered crabcakes too. Or they split one. I have no recollection of this. Sorry!

My mom decided to branch out and order a Glowtini
pic606.jpg

Chris got...a Long Island Iced Tea, maybe?
pic607.jpg

Picnic Punch for me, once again :thumbsup2
pic608.jpg

And Stephen got a Strawberry Daquiri
pic609.jpg

Cheers!

Oh this was funny. When I finished my crabcake, Memory took the ketchup and drew me a hidden mickey. Too funny, because I absolutely *love* ketchup, I have a shirt that says so! So she didn't even know how perfect this was!
pic611.jpg

Once again, my mom got a birthday cupcake. Very cute.
pic612.jpg

Pretty sure at this point the boys left to go swimming, while me and my mom headed over to the bar to spend what we thought was our last visit with David! My mom ordered something called an O Bomb. I dunno, apparently, it's energy drink, OJ, something else? Who knows. And she wanted a glow cube with it
pic616.jpg

I, of course, got another Picnic Punch. Ah yes, I remember now, no glow cube in mine, since she wanted the cube, I let her have mine.

Okay, so this one was drink heavy and food light...sorry about that! I promise more real food is coming.

next up: Main Street Bakery b'fast

The pirates punch looks yummy. Do you remember what is in it?

i think you mean the picnic punch? if so: Grandma's Picnic Punch -- Grandma concocted a wonderful drink for the family picnic with vodka, peach schnapps, creme de cassis, pink lemonade and pineapple juice

and yes, it is delish, if you couldn't tell by the fact that i had about 10! :lmao:

Believe it or not I also read it as PIRATE'S PUNCH! I thought maybe it was being called that for some reason because of the P&P Parties! :lmao: Sounds good though that glowtini looks wonderful.

I am enjoying your review! :thumbsup2

Hey I remember your reviews from your last trip!!! Great reviews!!! love your review of Tutto!!! One of my favorite places!!!! can't wait to eat there again in a couple weeks :)

Great reviews! Your brothers are cracking me up with their homemade spiked drinks! I am picturing them walking around with a million little airplane bottles of alcohol!
