I'm back! Family trip with DDE, Aug 13-20! Pics included, of course! updated 11/2

I'm waiting for your Tutto Italia review, I'll be going there in December.:goodvibes

oh it's so good! i'm sure you will love it!

Just found your reviews and am really enjoying. I hope you get to Fulton's before we leave this Monday (Labor Day) as we are having our 25th anniversary dinner there and we haven't been in five years.

ah, i apologize, but i won't be able to make that deadline! but suffice to say, it was an amazing meal, probably our best of the trip, and my brothers were in absolute heaven!

Yum, Grey Goose Lemon Slush :thumbsup2 Despite all the lovely food pics in the last couple of updates, this is the one that has my heart doing pitty-pats - can't wait to get another of these babies next visit (without the MIL nagging me about drinking during the day  )

P.S. And it will always be MGM to me too :thumbsup2

i totally hear ya! the slush is the best for me too!

Enjoying this, thanks!!

glad you're enjoying!

Loving your reviews and looking forward to your Tutto update.

Loving your reviews so far! :thumbsup2

thank you!

Marcia! You're back!! :goodvibes I loved your last round of dining reviews and am loving this so far.

The pictures of Stephen at the tea are hysterical. He's a trooper for sitting through it. What a good brother/son!

BBQ sauce on a cheeseburger :scared: Just kidding- we all have our weird food combos -- mayo and fries for me. Yum!!

I am planning on hitting the Tune In Lounge in October -- mostly at your suggestion from your solo TR-- and I will keep an eye out for David and tell him you said hello. I will also remember the citrus dressing on the side!

Mama Melrose looks pretty good. Not on my list for Oct but there is always the next trip!

Can't wait for more! popcorn:: Heading over to your "regular" TR now :)

thanks so much! you're making me blush! and yeah, that stephen is sure a character! you'll definitely be seeing more of him! and please enjoy tune in, i just love it there :lovestruc

Tutto Italia, dinner, 8.15.08

I was very much looking forward to this dinner, because I had been here on my May trip, and my family is very much fans of Italian food. Let me just tell you...it did not disappoint!

Our ADR was for 7:15pm, and we arrived around 7, and were seated almost immediately. Our waitress was introduced to us, and her name was Antonella. And she was so great!

I tried taking pictures of the menu, but the flash didn't really want to cooperate. But if anyone wants to see them, let me know, and I'll add them in another post. But anyway, even though the menu had just changed when I was there in May, it had changed once again! Just little things mainly, but the dish I ordered wasn't on the menu anymore. That's okay, though, there was plenty to choose from!

First came out the bread, olives/veggies, and dipping oil

We all really liked this and I'm pretty sure that we finished off the bread by the end of the meal.

My mom and brothers decided to go for a bottle of wine...I'm sorry I don't know what it was called, and I can't really read it in the pictures. Anyway, here's Antonella with the wine
pic334.jpg

And Chris wanted his picture with her, but didn't want to be too obvious..haha, boys!
pic336.jpg

I ordered my now second favorite Epcot drink...the Italian Margarita. So lemony and good!
pic335.jpg

And here's a pic of the spread of drinks
pic337.jpg

For appetizers, the boys split the Calamari, which I had in May and really enjoyed. They were very pleased
pic338.jpg

I got the boring old salad (salad girl I am!), and shared some with my mom. It was fine, can't really mess up salad!
pic339.jpg

For main meals, Chris ordered the Tagliolini pasta topped with Crabmeat with Sweet Tomato and Garlic. He licked his plate clean and proclaimed this dish "awesome"!
pic340.jpg

My mom ordered the Cannelloni, stuffed with spinach, ricotta, bechamel, and parmesan cheese. She absolutely adored this dish! She said it was unbelievable, and loved every last bit of it!
pic342.jpg

For me, it was the Striped Bass Filet with Sweet Tomatoes, Zucchini, and Sardinian "Fregola". I have no idea what that last bit means, but man was it delish! I had been disappointed that the dish with Shrimp I'd had before was no longer available, but this easily took its place.
pic341.jpg

Now, Stephen is a bit picky. He likes to order special stuff when we go Italian. Like, he wants Chicken Piccatta, and that's about it. Well, the closest they could get was Roasted Pressed Chicken Marinated with Lemon, Herbs, and Hot Red Pepper. And of course, he needs it served with pasta, so he had to order a kids pasta on the side, with no sauce, so he could arrange it the way he likes. Here's how it came out though
pic343.jpg

pic344.jpg

Since it said "pressed" we assumed it would be like cutlets, but it was more pieces on the bone. But he was fine with that. Once he cut it all up, and mixed it all together, he was a happy camper, so that's what matters.

For dessert, the boys and my mom split a Tiramisu. They said it was really good. I was too full to even try it!
pic345.jpg

This meal was absolutely perfect! We all really loved our meals, and Antonella was a doll. I really can't sing high enough praises for this place. Definitely check it out.

As an added bonus...here's a snack from later that evening...

Aloha Isle, snack, 8.15.08

During our Extra Magic Hours Evening at the MK, my brothers and I split a dole whip float. We did pineapple juice with vanilla soft serve.
pic400.jpg

AAAAAAnd well, my brother smuggled in some booze, so we added a bit of rum to it. Yummy in the tummy :thumbsup2

next up: Tusker House breakfast

Loving your reviews and pix.....I do have a question, tho....where is the Tune In Lounge??? Sounds like a spot I should visit :lmao: then again, you have such a way with words (and a camera).....everything looks wonderful;)

Oh my gosh! I really thought I subscribed a few days ago and posted. I'm so far behind. I am a salad girl too. I will have to check out your May report ~ very curious about the citrus dressing. Sounds tasty to me. Awesome report, so far! Can't wait to read more.
