I'm a wander-er!

I just got home to Champaign, IL for the holidays :goodvibes

Gonna go shopping with a friend this afternoon then fill up my weekend with family time :)

Super cold here now, its icing up, eek!

Anyone having a big family get together tomorrow?

Nope. :( Makes me sad too.

My one set of grandparents are up there in age (both 95... scratch that... grandpa is 96 today) so we haven't done anything big with them in the last couple years. My aunt (dad's side) used to do a big dinner (with our help) but since grandma passed just over a year ago, they're having a small lunch. Our main meal tomorrow will be a pre-fixed turkey from Meijer and assorted frozen sides or sides from a box.

Takes the wind outta my sails, ya know?

I understand that! We visited my father in law one year and had turkey stir fry:confused3 But we sure do remember that visit:laughing:

We are in the middle of a real bad ice storm. The base is locked down and the commisary is running out of food. Yesterday they were out of milk and bread:scared1: I was planning on going shopping Friday but won't be able to now.:sad1::sad1:

On a good note, my kiddos are so excited to get out all our Christmas decorations tomorrow:santa::santa::santa::santa::santa:

Happy Thanksgiving Eve! See there are a few Wanderers hanging about.

I have spent the better part of the last two hours baking four pies. The last two are about to go into the oven momentarily. My morning was spent doing laundry AND cleaning up a nasty spill one of my college kids made on my brand new carpet. Tea and carpet do not make a pretty picture when no one even attempts to clean it up at the time it happened. :scared1: Thank goodness for new carpet fibers though--took me awhile to suck out the fluid, but no stain! :woohoo:

We will be six for dinner tomorrow--four of us and our kids' boyfriend and girlfriend. We used to host my husband's family every year, but we moved away from them and it isn't feasible now. Then for a few years, my entire family came to our house, but with kids in college, aging parents and grandparent, etc., etc., everyone kind of stays put for Thanksgiving. We will catch up at Christmas.

I'm looking forward to a quiet day. . .:lmao:. Our Christmas lights (exterior) are up and we will be putting up the tree and interior decorations tonight or tomorrow--no lighting until tomorrow night though. ;)

If I don't make it back tomorrow--I hope everyone has a blessed Thanksgiving.

What is it with kids and carpet today? My 5 yr old left my blow dryer face down on the carpet while it was running:scared1: Thank goodness we smelled the burning smell.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING!! I'm going to go get my sides prepped and desserts baked so I don't know if I will have time to get back on!

Just an hour and a half away from Thanksgiving meal goodness!

Happy Thanksgiving to you all. My turkey is done, later on we will be going out to dinner at a country inn. We are also getting out our xmas decorations and should be putting our tree up tomarrow.

Happy Thanksgiving all!

I had to work the past 2 days and have been sick. Glad that I'm feeling better today, but not great, and now next week I have to work a ton of hours... but it's all worth it as Saturday we are on our way back down to WDW

I had a crazy weekend! No time for anything!

Luckily it's the work week and things can return to normal!

I did go out Friday morning, but only went 4 places. I was back home and in bed by 9:30. It didn't seem as busy here this year since a lot of places started at midnight. I couldn't believe I drove by Walmart on BF and the lot was empty at 7 a.m.!

I was going to go out but started strategizing Thursday night and realized I could get most of the things I wanted online so I just decided to do that instead of going out in the freezing cold temps.

There was only one thing I wanted that I couldn't get online but decided to not get it, the digital photo frame at Target for $29.

The only thing with online shopping is I buy too much. At least in the store when you are carrying it or have it in your cart you can realize how much you are buy but not online!

Anyone need some turkey? :rotfl2: I am about over the whole turkey thing for now. . .

Black Friday was a very successful trip for us. We left home at 7:30 a.m. and were done by 10:30 a.m. I still have a few things to pick up for our daughter, but it is all good!

Anyone else have rainy weather today?

Yesterday was gorgeous here, but the rain came overnight. Now we are supposed to get windy and wet with snow possible later this week. It is 50º this morning and the temperatures will drop like a rock later in the week. :sad2:

I went out to Menards for $20 Cricut cartridges... I couldn't find that kind of deal online! I stopped there (a zoo), drove over to JoAnn because their carties were $28... and didn't buy any... killed some time at Best Buy, then stopped at Hobby Lobby because all their Cricut stuff was 1/2 off... including the mats. $2.50/pc vs $5/pc... bueno! Luckily, HL's BF ad was crappy and so NO ONE was there when they opened. :teeth:

We didn't get any, so send some over! All we got were sides!
