Stoooopid deer! And I do mean stoopid! It's obviously run suicide missions before... it was missing an antler! I didn't see it jump into the road until I noticed oncoming traffic slow... then I saw its heiny! The jerk wouldn't finishing crossing the road (the whole "to get to the other side" concept was just lost on this little fella) - he ran up the road with me until I was about a foot away! I've never braked so hard in my life!

I am sorry. I know you weren't trying to be funny but you had me I can just picture someone saying something like that. I've lived in deer country before and can understand your frustration though

HOLY COW!! I'm the OP, and I so can't beleive this thread is still going. Surely there must be something wrong. I'm a thread killer. Seriously.

I haven't been on here much due to sick children with 105 degree fevers. They are all much better today, so I plan to use naptime today to read all the posts, respond to them, and keep this going!

Or maybe my post will be the last, keeping with the theme of being a thread killer. And a wander-er.

Speaking of wandering, I am up (not as early as I hoped) and heading out to grocery shop. I only "major" shop once a month so it is always a chore. Then I need to hustle home for the Penn State vs Michigan State game, followed by the Ohio State vs Iowa game, all while listening to the radio while our high school team plays for a state title berth. That should pretty much fill my day.

Several years ago I had a deer run INTO my car! It was dark out & snowing. The stupid thing ran right into the side of my car.

We went to the movies tonight. My girls and DH saw Harry Potter and my son and I saw megamind!!!! Lots of fun!!

It is a rainy, breezy, but oh so warm day here today. Does not look all that promising for a nice weekend, but I will take the warmth today.

I am planning my Thanksgiving Day meal in my head and will begin some of it (chopping, slicing, dicing, etc.) tomorrow. Pies on Wednesday. My kids return from college tomorrow night and then it will get hectic. Each have a "friend" who will be here for part of the holidays.

Then Friday shopping-- -- and Saturday to Detroit for the Michigan State High School play-offs. Our local team will be competing for a state title. It is very exciting--our third trip since around 2005(? or close thereto).

Hope everyone is enjoying a lovely Monday and doesn't get so busy that they can't wander through and say .

Several years ago I had a deer run INTO my car! It was dark out & snowing. The stupid thing ran right into the side of my car.

Sounds like the episode of Gilmore Girls where Rory was running late to school and while at a stop sign, a deer smacked into her mom's Jeep!

I watched Megamind with my 5 yr old. No way could I see him sitting through 2 1/2 hours of HP. My DDs and DH said it was really good (but def. would have been to scary for our 5 yr old). I'll see it when it comes to base.

It's raining today which is REALLY bad news for us because it all going to freeze tonight

It's raining here too, but it's also 60 degrees out, until the wind pushes it out.

School was cancelled early today and cancelled for tomorrow due to ice. It took my DH's coworker 2 hours to drive 15 miles
Now to entertain them all week

It's warm today but will be cold by Thanksgiving.
I am actually not cooking anything for the 2nd year in a row. We're going to the local gun club that DH is a member of and having a huge Thanksgiving lunch instead. We went last year and it was a lot of fun. It's only DH and I and our DS who does not eat anything anyway and I only know how to cook holiday meals for about 15 people.

I dunno about you guys, but I just had some amazing Chinese food for lunch, I'm ready for tomorrow to be over so we can FINALLY decorate the house, and I had the honor of being allowed to take pictures of the President and Vice-President yesterday when they came to my hometown.
