I'm a wander-er!

This pretty much sums me up:rotfl2:

:lmao:

I'm in.

I am normally the last to join anything. :rotfl2: I don't have very many friends on here either, and I am a wander-er also, but I love being that way. I love the community board, family board & the budget board, but I check in on a few others, especially when I am planning a trip.

I think this is a great idea for a thread. I would love some Dis friends. :goodvibes I spend way to much time on here. :surfweb:

Is it time to introduce ourselves a little better if we're trying to find a "home" and some DIS friends? :goodvibes

I'll go first, since I suggested it.

I'm LaRae (34) and DH is Randy (also 34). We have 2 kiddos: DD (6) and DS (3). They're pretty cute if I do say so myself, and I do! :rotfl: We honeymooned at Wilderness Lodge in 1998 and had such a wonderful time. :lovestruc We didn't make it back again until DD was 4 and DS was 1, and that was just a "trial run" to MK for 2 days to see how they would handle it. It was such a blast we went back the following Jan. with my ILs and DSis for a week. We're going again in 14 days (but who's counting?) for Thanksgiving week!

I'm a SAHM, former 3rd grade teacher. I sometimes sub at DS's preschool and volunteer at DD's school and in Girl Scouts. We're very active in our church as well. Unfortunately, no one but my DSis and DH get my Disney addiction, so I turn to the DIS to feed the monster! :lmao: If I hear, "You're going to Disney again?! Weren't you just there?" one more time...

OK, who's next? Or will this kill the thread?!?! :confused3 :rotfl2:

I have been on the DIS since a couple of months after it began. That said, and while I suffered post count losses on board crashes, I don't post all that often. I have a couple of threads I follow: Polynesian FAQ, Concierge, Friendies, and the Resort Board in general. I am also an habitual wanderer--I bounce around and read a good many of the boards when the mood strikes.

We are planning a return to F&W Festival next fall (booked at Dolphin for the first time ever). Our family favorite resort is the Polynesian and we have stayed yearly since around 1994. We have also managed to stay at most of the other Disney resorts (no values for me though my husband has stayed at Music).

Our summer trips to the Polynesian with kids have come to an end at this point. Both of our children are college students and the eldest will be graduating in the spring and the youngest in 2012. I hope we will get back with them one day, but for now my husband and I are really having a blast alone and with friends at F&W Festival. :woohoo:

That's a brief Disney synopsis of our family and hope the thread hangs around.

P.S.: I've never killed a thread, so I hope someone follows up after me. :guilty:

Hi! I just hit "new posts" and open whatever sounds interesting to me... I hardly pay attention to which forum it is in, and didn't realize until recently that it can be kind of "clique-ish".

Hello fellow wanderers. I thought I would check in and see how our thread was going. Nice to see that there are so many of us here and so far none of us have killed the thread.:cool1:
Just want to wish everyone a magical day!pixiedust:

I am stuck on the couch with a cat sleeping on me so I will go:

I am LTS around here. People worry they will put the "s" in the wrong place ;) if they try to type my username, so LTS is easier. SAHM of 2 girls ages 10 and almost 15 and a wonderful husband and 2 cats. I am a substitute teacher occasionally. I love scrapbooking but currently am more of a collector than a user. I have also taken up knitting and crocheting lately.

I found the DISboards when I was planning our first (and once of a lifetime, will never happen again :rotfl: ) trip. I used it mostly just for trip planning, and in fact the Community Board scared the heck out of me so I never dared to come here. Several Disney trips later I had a terrible terrible cold and was bored and sick, so I was hanging out on the DIS. I had just finished a trip and was planning to not go to the DIS anymore because I had no plans for any future trips and didn't see the need to be here after I had done some reviews and reports. Some very strange posts started and I was sucked in and that was the beginning of the WPASADI game which I became very involved in and met many wonderful DISers online and some in real life, (and got up the courage to peek into the CB and ended up sticking around). Many of them have drifted off of the boards but I am still here! I am a moderator on the Welcome Board so if it makes you all feel any better--even moderators are thread killers! (me the most often I think!!!)

In the last few years I have had several foot surgeries and have not been able to heal completely so I tend to be here a lot when I am having a bad day and bored. I have actually been doing better so I am not around as much as I have been.

Oh, and I talk a lot!

Good morning wanderers! I like the idea of introductions, so here goes:

I'm Lisa (34). Raised in Central FL with APs to WDW and Universal. Worked off and on at both places for over 10 years. Moved to New Orleans in 2001 and had a wonderful new life, that came crashing down when my mom passed away and I split with my husband a month later. Moved back to Orlando to take care of my dad (Andy, 58) at the end of 2004. Ended up becoming a travel writer and enlisting my dad to be my photographer.

Now Dad and I travel the country full-time in an RV. It's a great life, but it means I rely on the internet to stay in touch with friends and family since I'm rarely around. It also means that I may come and go at random times from the forums, since I go in and out of having internet service (though it's a lot better since we got a Sprint Overdrive a few months ago). So if I disappear for a bit, don't worry about me, I'll be back when I can!

Just checkin' in. Hope everyone is doing well today. :)

Wow! That sounds so exciting! Where do your writings end up? Magazines, newspapers, books, internet??? I would love to see some of it.

It sounds like you really overcame a hard spot in your life and made some great lemonaid.:goodvibes

I have told DH that I would love to get an RV when we retire and just go all over the country and see it all. He isn't an RV guy and said that he would rather have a nice car and spend the money on hotels.

I'll have a go on the introduction.

I'm Jenn (actually think that is the first time I've ever said my name on here... :scratchin).

Anyway, I am a FT student aide to a brilliant high school senior (and while I may be ever so slightly biased about his intelligence, I can honestly say, "no really - he's super smart" and his paperwork backs that up. ::yes::

I am also a FT mom to 2 great kids.

I scrapbook, and have also been quite the collector versus user of late.

I am also a photographer in my other, other life.

I've been to both DLR and WDW several times (more to FL than CA) over the course of my short time here.

I also am very clumsy, which results in me being broken a lot. :upsidedow

I, too, talk lots. So bear with me.

Hello, I am Amy. I live in S. California and have an AP to DL, but have been to WDW a few times. I fear it is an addiction. I have used these boards a lot when I needed info for those trips. Amazing insight into the dining plan etc.

I work part time to full time depending upon the week and have one kiddo, DD10 who is the apple of my eye. I have been married to the DH for 13 years and lucky for me while he does not share my Disney NEED he seems to enjoy any trip I plan.

While my post count is low, I have been around lurking since my first WDW trip in 2006.

This is fun! OK, my name is Carla and I am a stay at home mom of three children. I have been married for 21 years this month. Dh is not Disney crazy like me, but I am working on him. My children love Disney so I have raised them right. :thumbsup2

I am most happy when I am planning a trip to Disney, so I'll be happy until May.:lmao: No promises after that. I have to admit, I spend way to much time on these boards, but I love it!!

I just wanted to jump on to add to the intros. I'm Karen and have a wonderful husband and 2 of the best kids in the world. Sarah and Collin. DH and I both work full time and life tends to fly by for us. We just got back from our perfect family vacation to the World this summer and are planning our next trip in a few years. There are so many places we'd love our children to experience and so little time.

I have told DH that I would love to get an RV when we retire and just go all over the country and see it all. He isn't an RV guy and said that he would rather have a nice car and spend the money on hotels.

I'll get that RV and go with you! I've always thought retiring to an RV and traveling all over would be a blast, but DH hates to drive for travel so it looks like that dream is already over. Of course, I do often bring him around to my way of thinking and with at least 30 more years to nag, I mean...persuade, him...anything is possible! :rolleyes1

I wander, too. Unless I really really need to focus, I usually am jumping around the internet while doing other things. I do surveys on a rewards site, and I read super-fast, so to slow myself down I'll answer a question, go to the next page, skim it, then go read something else before answering. Wash, rinse, repeat. I only sign out when I go to bed. So I'm sure some think I'm staring at the Dis screen allllll day long. But I'm always doing other things!

And I go through the Dis in order. Theme parks, Resorts, Dining, Dining reservations, Budget, for Families, Transportation, DVCs, Disneyland, Trip Reports, Universal forums, CB, and every month or so I hit the rewards forum. Over and over and over.

I routinely have 10 tabs open at once (hubby doesn't even laugh at me for it anymore now that I have a better Mac instead of the Toshiba junk I had that couldn't handle that).

That is exactly what I do. I think the one time I gave my opinion on something, somebody jumped all over me for it - and that was the end of me trying to discuss anything other than my favorite kind of cheese, my bag choices or how much I love my cats. :)

The trick is to post and don't go back. Unless you really really want to.

OKay I'm in!!! My name is April and I'm a disaholic!! :thumbsup2

I've been a SAHM for 13 years now and a parttime college student getting my masters in Social Work.

I have 2 daughters and 1 son who all love Disney and I drag my DH along with the madness!!

I have only been to WDW once:scared1: and DL twice. It seems everytime we have a trip planned something comes up. My DH is military so it's usually a TDY:confused:

We live in Alaska currently but hope to leave in about 18 months and live closer to the Mouse!

What is everyone doing this evening? I'm doing our son's laundry--yeah he's home from college--and listening to the local high school football game. District Championship game tonight and hoping we move on to regionals. :thumbsup2

Does it make me sound really boring if I say staying in my warm house and watching TV? I volunteered in my son's Kindergarten class today and I am beat:upsidedow
Oh and doing homework. I have a 10 page research paper that's rough draft was due today:scared1::scared1::scared1:
