I would like to bring a case of bottled water in my luggage to WDW....The thing is we are flying down.

DH thinks I am nuts. We will be there 13 days and I really drink alot of water. We are using DME and will not make a grocery stop. Is it o.k. if I use my carry-on to put it in? I figure I could use the carry on to store my souvenirs on our way back....

Please don't laugh. I WISH I could find those Brita bottles....still searching though.

Why don't you just buy the water down there? We use to bring it then realized that there were targets and walmarts all over orlando, so now we buy it the first day when we get there, and when we switch hotels. Just pack your carry-on bag.

Disneygirl16,

We are using Magical express, therefore not renting a car. That makes getting there a little difficult.

Hey - if you want to lug a case of water around with you, more power to ya. For me, the extra cost of buying water (or maybe buying one bottle of water and refilling in the room or in the parks) is worth it to avoid having to drag that case of water into the car, into the airport, onto the plane, etc. etc.

How about buying some online before you travel and having it shipped to your room? Or, buy it and ship it yourself? Maggie

Try bringin a few empty bottles and than fill them when u get there. If u dont like the taste of there water try bringin the crystal light packets to go. I think these are a great idea and dont take up much room at all. Thats what i'm planin since i drink alot of water. also some of the groccerie stores deliver down there seeing u cant get out. I'm takin the magical service to and will be "stranded".

Hello,
You have to be careful about packing heavy stuff. If your luggage weighs more than 50 lbs they charge you more money.Try to buy the Brita water bottle from this site. http://www1.acehardwareoutlet.com/(cflorsrhlzg2gp55ubbbpc55)/ProductDetails.aspx?SKU=4186839 Hope this helps :earsgirl:

I am going to be doing the same thing, I really don't like alot of varieties of bottled water so I am bring a case from home. I have contacted SW and they advise that it is OK but must be in the checked luggage not carry on and they recommend you but it in bags first then your luggage. I have also weighted a case of 24 and it was 28 pds. So we are going to put it in that little suitcase that you get with your set that really doesn't hold much then use it for souvies on the way home.

Have a good trip.

As long as it fits? However, it will be a little heavy for you. I just recently found those Brita bottles in CVS. I used them last year and they are great. I would try another search for them. It really saved us a lot of money.

Good Luck.

We had a car but still didn't want to spend a lot of time in a grocery store on holiday (keyword - HOLIDAY :cool1: ), and flying from the UK didn't really want to pack any. We made the trip to Crossroads some days (you could do that easily in a taxi), but other days we bought large bottles of water from the shop onsite - OK, not as cheap as Walmart but cheaper than the little bottles in WDW. We brought with us sports bottles with insulated jackets, and each morning filled the bottles with water from the fridge plus ice from the ice machine. We found they stayed cold all day, topped up from the fountains. Incidentally, we didn't find the water tasted bad, but I read somewhere it depends on the time of year as in the hotter months they need to add more purification chemicals ().

I saw on another site (try mousesavers.com) that some grocery stores will let you order online and deliver to your hotel (I think - I didn't try it as so many brands are different I wasn't always sure what some things were :rotfl: )

Not sure why...didn't really ask cause I didn't want it in my carry on anyways. I was just posting what the customer service person at SW told me. She had to put me on hold to get an answer.

I don't think I would want to lug it all over anyways like you said....to heavy :earseek: .

some DIser's have used www.wegoshop.com for grocery delivery. Perhaps you could contact them to deliver a case of bottled water and other snacks etc and save yourself the hassle of trying to bring it down in a carry on bag.

Just got my Innova bottles a few days ago and they work great! Got 1 for each of us (27 0z). We took them to Hersheypark (we live about 10 minutes away) and they worked great (Hersheypark water isnt the best either)!

:cool1:

Well I am with you I am bringing 3 checked coolers filled with water bottels. I have no prob lugging it because I am getting dropped off and picked up at the air port. I will use the luggage rack . I do have a problem If I had to carry it on the plane and switch planes but Im checking in so who cares. I am very picky about my water and I will not have a grocery stop so Im trying it. :bounce:

Not at all silly! I am particular about the water I drink as well and will be purchasing a case of water directly from Fiji Water and will have it shipped directly to the resort we are staying at. ;)

I am also contemplating this. Checked with UPS for shippping water (and other things down) -- water and other things "beer/wine" is heavy. Other options include wegoshop or renting a car for one day from the WDW car center -- either way, it's going to add another $20 or $30 on top of the cost of items. I think wegoshop charges $15 but I'd have to tip -- especially arriving on Thanksgiving Day. Rental car idea could cost me a full morning -- to save a buck I"m not sure it's worth it. What to do?

We originally were going to use wegoshop because we needed snacks and juices for the kids and light bites for the pool, etc. but we are now "dining plan" and only need the beer/wine and maybe a few more waters (we'll get most as our snacks).

It's a dilemma for sure. Can anyone help?

I never thought of sending it to my hotel room.

We get a limo, so we run to Publix and stock up on water and other items.

I sent an entire case of water, via UPS ground (allow at least a week), the week before the trip directly to our hotel. I then called the hotel to let them know I was expecting a package and let them know when I was scheduled to check-in, just in case it came early. Well, it cost only about $20 and was WELL worth it! Who would want to have to lug that around the airport? We also included some snacks for us and it was so nice to have it there upon our arrival. Hope this helps!
