Hi there,

Booked a 2 bedroom lock off preferred view at BLT 1/18 -1/24 mainly because the dedicated 2 br wasn’t available 1/18 but open the rest of the days. I put in a waitlist for the dedicated preferred 2br for 1/18-1/24 but not sure if I should put a waitlist in for that whole week or just 1/18 if the other days are available.

Side note, which do you guys prefer, the 2 br lock off or 2br dedicated. Bringing my family with us. We have two kids under 4, wife’s siblings and mom and my parents.

First time booking!

Thanks!

I think it's a personal preference. One nice thing about a lock off is that one room is a studio, so it does have the kitchenette area. If the people in that room don't want to disturb others and cook something in the microwave or have their own mini fridge, they will. In a dedicated 2BR there won't be a kitchenette in the second bedroom. Plus a separate entrance in the lock off.

A dedicated two bedroom has two queen beds in the second bedroom. That is what makes the dedicated one appeal to us.

If you want to be sure you have the same room the whole trip (even if it's not exactly what you want), the way you've done it is fine.

If you want to have the room type you want for most of the trip (with the likelihood of having to change rooms), book what you can get (different room types) and waitlist for the mismatched night, setting the waitlist to replace the necessary reservation. If it comes through, ask member services to combine the reservations so you don't have to switch rooms. If it doesn't come through, you will have to switch rooms.

So it really depends on which is more important to you - how big of a deal will it be if you end up having to switch rooms but you get the room type you want?
