So, after these facts you’re trying to argue here:

“Mindy” wouldn’t pursue this crusade only because she didn’t get a candy from this guy on Halloween night when she was 7 years old.

Please, show a little respect for the “REAL” victim in this story that can’t forget about it, even if it is 30 years later.

But it does depend on what the criminal had done, what danger is there with a man who is caught in his car having a little solo sex, how dangerous is a person who streaks (a bit stupid but no child is at danger) what do you think is dangerous to a child about a man being caught havinga pee in the woods. You are making the false assumpton that all sex offenders are molesters and rapist and that isn't true. Yes have a list of rapists and child molesters but get the public pee having people off the list take the streakers and the solo artist off just have the dangerous one on it.

I just hope some sort of consideration will be made for the civil rights of the persons required to register because of the change in the law. Being put on the sex offender registry is a social death sentence, and can open persons on the list to retaliation and hate crimes.

If you don't want to be on a sexual or violent offenders registry, don't commit those types of offenses.

And for those who say it's wrong to punish those who had sex with their underage partners, maybe they shouldn't have had sex with children. IF the person didn't know the partner was so young, maybe they should have been a bit pickier about who they had sex with. I don't care if a 15 year old is standing there bare-butt naked saying "Let's have sex." It's wrong to have sex with children when you are an adult. Adults should make sure their sexual partners are over the age of consent.

Oh, and there are very few crimes in which it is an automatic placement on the sex/violent offenders registry. In the vast majority of cases, the prosecutor has to file a motion to require this. A hearing will be held and the judge will determine if the person needs to register. IF a streaker is put on the registry, it's because the prosecutor proved the person deserves to be on the registry because he/she is a danger.
