ILL is aptly named.

ILL really does make me ill. Today’s frustration. I log into the app at 6:59:50. I go to the rip board and change to Animal Kingdom. Boom! FOP listed for 9am! Grab it!!! WTH now it says 10:15!! Grab that! I pay for it and it now says 12:30!!! What a worthless piece of crap system! It does not even lock in the time you pick, it just keeps going until your payment posts!!!

Concert venues find a way to sell tickets without the last minute switcheroo. Disney needs to do better.

Literally every company that has similar IT needs as Disney does better. The concert venue people hold your tickets for 5 minutes. Delta can somehow book and re-book millions of people on thousands of flights without the site endlessly crashing. You can book a room at Marriot on their website and it doesn't take you to an error page.

It's bad, bad, bad. I am also sure they don't care.

So just curious even if you have selected a time or been given a time until you pay & checkout you don't know your actual return time? Can you then change it if other slots open or it is what it is too bad?

Just asking so if my visiting friends ask me how it works.

You would have it to cancel it and then rebook.

For G+, if I have paid in advance, I know that when I Book Expeirence, the time can change until I hit Confirm.

For ILL$, I can't Confirm until I complete payment, but I thought the time that showed when I started payment was held until I completed payment. Maybe ILL$ is broken today?

No, you have absolutely no control over the time you get. They offer you choices but they are meaningless as you get whatever time is available when you charge drops. You also cannot change the time or even cancel it one purchased.

It may depend on how popular the ride is. This was for FOP. Like I said I chose 10:15 but it changed to 12:30 by time the charge posted. I’m not sure but I may have picked 10:15 and it had already changed by the time it asked me to pay.

Setting aside the fact that ILL$ adds a significant upcharge to use the LL for a single ride, it could have been set up in a way that might greatly enhance a WDW visit. They could have allowed you to purchase your time up to 24 hours in advance instead of having to compete every morning at 7 am. They could have designed the system to hold the time you select for even as little as 1 minute to allow you to check out and actually get the time they offered to you.

Sadly, they rolled this out with, not just glitchy IT, but a fundamentally flawed design that is extremely frustrating for every user as they watch the times keep changing through the check-out process.

What a horrible way to run anything. I understand feeling pressured into buying the ILL if you really want to do something, but ultimately, I think we've all got to stop buying it in order for it to go away. I know it feels like a darned if ya do, darned if ya don't situation and to everyone who has purchased it, I get it...I really do. 98% of me had been saying I wouldn't purchase it when we next go, as I'm just so angry about the pay to play faster even exisiting... the other 2% of me was saying..but hey remember standing in line for over 2hrs on your birthday for one ride and then not getting to do the other because the VQ was a wreck... ugh.

The funny thing about it is that they had solved the issue in FP+. Back in 2019 I head written some applications that hit Disney's APIs directly so I didn't have to go through the app. (NOTE: This wasn't to bypass to cheat anyone ... it was just easier when there were multiple groups of people over multiple trips to predefine travel groups and subgroups and let app handle it instead of clicking on members each time). Any time you searched, the resulting attractions and times would be pulled from the pool so you wouldn't lose it during confirmation. When you advanced to the next step any unselected option was returned to the pool.

I can't remember exactly how it worked.
Step 1: You see 9:00 and click on Individual Lightning Lane, Purchase for $X
Step 2: Next page shows 10:15 and asks you to confirm
Step 3: I have the same question that you have. Does the next page show 12:30 when you start entering payment data?

Maybe someone who is booking one of the lesser ILLs where time is not of the essence can let us know exactly what the steps are.

We just did this last week and that's how it was - time was held while payment was completed. Time can change before you start that step but once you are in there you have several minutes to finish the payment.

So in your example where time bounced from 9 to 10:15, you have to click on the 10:15 quickly to lock it in and *then* it's ok to breathe again.

I always take the surveys Disney emails out. I recently took one for APs. I answered no to “will you be using LL and genie +”…next question they follow up with is why. I was brutally honest during the entire survey but let loose for that question. I hope anyone else that’s unhappy with the current system does the same. After 7 years we’re letting our APs expire this April. Genie +/ILL was the final straw.

Well, that's a little better than some people described, but they could have designed it so that you didn't have to jump through so many hoops and frantically select within a nanosecond in order to reserve the time you click on initially.

Thanks for the info.

So if I don't click the 10:15 quickly, it might then change to 12:30, correct? And would I see that it now says 12:30 before I start payment? That's the question which I'm not sure of the answer right now.

We know the OP saw 9:00, then saw 10:15, and ended up with 12:30. Did they see 12:30 at any point before they finished the payment process?

Exactly that. Not only did the glichiness not get any better, but they added new layers of IT frustration. It's ridiculous.
