~i'll be home for Xmas but 1st i'm going to DISNEY WORLD!~ TR link posted!

Your home is so beautiful and I love how you decorated with the wreaths. I hope you can save Mickey. I paid alot more than $20 for mine this year.:rolleyes1 You got a great deal, hope he can be fixed. pixiedust: The creeping Santa is so funny, I love the rope around his foot. Very original, I've never seen one before. (I miss Lillian Vernon, I used to get the cataloge when I was in Auburn :sad1: ) I happen to like your neighbours blow ups and the band, I guess I'm just tacky.:lmao:

The Tink topper looks great on your tree. She is so cute. My little Tink ornament that I bought also changes color. I've already worn out the batteries, and havn't been able to find replacements?

Aww, how adorable are the stockings. Will you be able to get another one for the new baby in your future?

Glad to hear you are packing, cause it's aproaching very fast. :yay:

i have a question for those of you who have travelled to disney world in the winter months. of course i've been checking the forecast daily. it was sunny/partly cloudy with highs in the low 80's and lows in the 60's but now it's changed to this:

i've already started to pack and right now i'm taking mostly jeans, short-sleeved shirts and a couple of hoodies. now i know how 60 degrees in georgia can feel different than 60 degrees somewhere else. so i'm wondering if i'll be okay with the wardrobe i'm packing????

We've been to Disney in December for the past 3 years, this will be our 4th. My first question to you would be, do you get cold easily? I myself do, but have found that wearing jeans, or capri's/bermuda shorts, a tshirt and bringing a light jacket or sweatshirt with me was more than enough. I also bring a thin pair of gloves with me just in case (hands get cold quick too). At night though, make sure you definitely have that hoodie with you. You won't need both a heavier jacket AND a hoodie, but you will certainly need one or the other for the fireworks. Good luck with your weather week though! We're leaving in 9 days so I should be checking ours out here soon too! :thumbsup2

I'm cold-natured, and a hoodie was good enough for me both in the mornings and in the evenings - that was for two November trips and one December trip. This November trip was colder than both our November and December trips last year, but people were in the pools on all three trips. Hoodies and jeans should be just fine, unless you're seeing something crazy in the forecast.

But it did snow one night.

Back there on the streets of New York, I think it was. ;)

Your pictures just make me realize how short this trip was. You just can't get it all in in a few days.

I'm spoiled to the ten day trips.
We still don't get it all in on those.
One day, I'm going to book us for two solid weeks and see if that helps!

Although, it's been a few years since we have been during the beginning of December, it was a bit cold at night. Living in NH, I'm use to the the cold - and I actually wore my winter coat to MK one night! I believe I mostly wore jeans with a t-shirt and brought a sweatshirt for the day and definitely the evening. However, we went swimming during our vacation, too - day and night. Packing is the hardest part when going at this time of year. You have to bring a little of everything.
Still a great time to go! We are switching from the beginning of November to to the beginning of December! I'm very much looking forward to your TR to see how the crowds/waits are.

Man, those lights look beautiful!!! I can't wait to read your report because we are already thinking about booking for next New Years and am looking forward to some tips. I just HAVE to see those lights in person. You are getting soooooooooo close!!!!:cool1:

I can't wait to see your pictures from this trip! I've been debating what to pack for our January trip too. Being in KS, I'm used to the cold weather, but I want to be able to enjoy myself and not think about how cold I am. Right now I'm planning on packing at least 2 hoodies and then jeans and t-shirts. Hopefully that will be enough. I'll have a coat with me too because I'm sure that I'll need it in KC on the days that we fly out and back home.

Have a great trip! You are so close! We arrive the day after you leave.

What you're packing should be perfect. :thumbsup2
My family always goes to Disney during the winter and it's usually around those temps. I always wear a jacket in the morning, take it off during the afternoon, and put it back on later in the evening when it starts to get cold again.

Dawn, I am SO jealous! I love DHS and I would choose almost the same things if I could be there at this time next week!

thanks! well, i will be thinking of you when i'm there since we will be enjoying your favorite things. i'm sure you'll be back soon!

So I have to know...is Tink going to remain your favorite if Paris Hilton plays her in a new version of Peter Pan??? :scared1:

um.....what?????? please say it ain't so. i will totally protest if that's true. i hated julia roberts as tink in "hook" and i will REALLY hate paris hilton! she's so worthless in my opinion. blah!

what a fun filled day to look forwarded to:cool1:

thanks! we are really excited about it!

I can't pick a favorite pic it is so awesome just wait until you are standing in the middle of the snow looking at the lights.....and it's 70 degrees

i can't wait! do you want me to call you? not that you can really get any sort of effect over the phone!

Yayyyy! Sounds like a fun day! I love Hollywood Studios!!! :yay: :yay: :yay:

I have a little favour to ask you!! When you're eating at Sci-Fi for lunch, can you please check out the dessert menu and see if the chocolate tart is still there!?

It was my faaaaavourite dessert in 2006, and it's still on the AllEars menu, but I've read a few people's dining reviews lately that seems to have a slightly different menu. I'll be so sad if the chocolate tart is gone!! I'll need to prepare myself early. Hehee.

i promise i will try to remember! i will take a pic of the menu for you if i don't forget.

Looks like you will have a fun day!

i hope so! we're really looking forward to that day (like all the others!)

So excited for you Dawn. We went in December when Hannah was just over one and she wore a coat at night... it was cold to be honest. Days were warmer, but no pool time for us. I wore a fleece at night. No shorts, long sleeves for the most part. The lights will be fantastic. I hope you get to check out Tinkerbell and get some awesome castle pictures.

thanks for all the weather/packing advice, guys! you've made me feel better about what i'm taking. the only thing i hadn't thought of was a blanket and now i'm gonna be taking one of those - probably keep it in the car until needed!
