If We Ate It, There's A Picture!-LIVE October 2011

I'm loving your reviews and thepictures of the F&W are fantastic. Can't believe how much rain you are having though - we have only seen rain twice in October in 4 trips and then only for about an hour each. We did once have a whole afternoon of rain in February but still feeling a bit scared at that much rain.

Still there's no where else I'd rather be on a wet Autumn afternoon than WDW :)

Does Cape May always have crab legs ???/ great report, thanks much!

Yes, they do. The menu is here: http://allears.net/menu/menu_cmc.htm

The rain finally stopped! It's 78 and humid and the sun is shining. :goodvibes

Thanks for the great pics! We are hoping to stay at BC next year so I'm really interested in the restaurants there. I have been looking for a picture of the No Way Jose - it looks wonderful!

I have time for a couple of reviews before we head out.

Kringla Bakeri Snack 10/9
When we returned back to Epcot we went to Future World again and then went back to World Showcase. I sent Mom to China and stopped in at Kringla Bakeri. This Berry Cream Puff looked really good (and it was HUGE) but I went with the favorite: School Bread.

That was after it had been in it's box for awhile. It was yummy as always.

China was our first stop of the evening. We ordered the Black Pepper Shrimp with Sichuan Noodles and the Pork Pot Stickers.

DSCN0416.JPG

The noodles come with 4 shrimp but Mom had already started eating when I got to her. Both dishes were very good. We preferred the shrimp and noodle dish. It wasn't too spicy despite the name; there were *a lot* of scallions-probably too many. The pork pot stickers were average, and not necessarily worth the money. I prefer the ones from Ohana.

Off to lunch at Whispering Canyon! Yes, we're getting the skillet! :thumbsup2

Just found this thread. :goodvibes Thank you for sharing Gretchen. I am sorry to hear that the weather has been crummy for you. Our 2010 trip it rained pretty much non-stop except for one day! By the looks of it, it hasn't slowed you down. Must be that Buffalo spirit. :thumbsup2 We will be there the 21-30. I look forward to more reviews and I hope the rest of your stay is filled with sunshine. :cool1:

How much mayo was on the lobster roll? I hate mayo with a passion and hate that lobster rolls are made with mayo. It looked pretty light on mayo, so was hoping that it is and maybe I will try that next week.

Loving all the F&W pics - thanks for sharing them and your opinions on the food :thumbsup2

Enjoy your lunch at WCC!

Your report is making me hungry! I can't wait to try all of the food and wine deliciousness!!! Thanks for sharing.

Have a great time at EoS- it is my all time favorite QS!!!! :thumbsup2

The weather yesterday and today was beautiful! No rain at all. :goodvibes

Oh gosh, I didn't really pay attention but I don't think there was lot.

We got home about two hours ago. I will try to finish up the reviews tomorrow and Thursday!

There are a few things you pictured from the F&W festival, I would have snubbed without seeing the pictures. Now I'd like to try them!

The bills add up quickly over there. Dh and I spent $50 in no time the other night.

I think our total including three alcoholic beverages was about $127. It would have been more, but we weren't able to hit up all the booths we wanted.:sad2:

That's not surprising. We just had the Mahi at Brazil. It was excellent! The cheese soup and salmon at Canada, they were ok but not something I absolutely want to go back again for. The escargot and a cosmo at France. The escargot was amazing. We will be getting another one of these. We won't be getting any more alcohol though. We'd rather eat than drink. Heading back this weekend.

Germany 10/9
We chose two out of the three options here: The Nuernberger Sausage in a Pretzel Roll and the Apple Strudel with Vanilla and Werther's Caramel Sauce.
DSCN0418.JPG

DSCN0417.JPG

The sausage was really good! I still think it's the funniest looking thing ever, but it was very tasty. The pretzel roll was delicious. The apple strudel was just okay. The first bite was very sweet because there was a lot of sauce, but then it got kind of bland.

Italy 10/9
We chose several items here: Baked Cheese Ravioli, Chocolate Cannoli, and the Primavera Smoothie.

DSCN0421.JPG

The smoothie was the real winner here. It was in a normal sized cup for only $3.50 and was fruity and delicious. The cannoli was okay. The chocolate coating made it a little slippery to hold on to, and there didn't seem to be extra stuff in the filling (chocolate chips, candied fruit) as stated in the description. The ravioli was the loser. Although it looks cheesy and delicious from the outside, the actual ravioli tastes exactly like Chef Boyardee. I was so disappointed.

Karamell Kuche 10/9
DSCN0422.JPG

This was my choice: A milk chocolate pecan caramel cluster. It was soooo good. I just wanted to eat more of the caramel part. Mmmmmm now I'm daydreaming about it.
DSCN0424.JPG

Mom finally decided on the Chewy Caramel Bar. This was also very tasty. The bottom past was like a buttery cookie foundation, but I still don't know what the white stuff on the top is. The whole thing intrigued me but it was delicious as well!

France Booth/France Wine Kiosk
I sent Mom over to France to get the Grand Marnier slush. I had pointed out the wine kiosk earlier in the day, but she thought I meant the France booth. I was holding down a bench between France and Morocco, but she found a table in France so I went over to meet her and saw this:
DSCN0425.JPG

"Ummm, this isn't the Grand Marnier Slush. This is the Parisian Cosmo Slush." I tried a sip and almost spat it back out it was so strong. She didn't like it either and we ended up tossing it. So then she went to the correct kiosk for the Grand Marnier slush.
DSCN0426.JPG

Honestly, this was also pretty gross. It just wasn't what I was expecting, and if I had opted for this as my first alcoholic beverage (which was my original plan) I would probably never drink anything else ever again. :goodvibes We made it a few more sips through this and then it went in the garbage as well.

Beach Club Marketplace Breakfast 10/10
DSCN0482.JPG

The milk and french toast sticks were for me, the water and ham and cheese omelet croissant were for Mom, and the fruit was for us to share. I really liked the french toast sticks, they were hot and crispy. The fruit was very good. Mom did not like the ham on the croissant, but said the egg and cheese alone was fine. I had a few bites of the actual croissant and it was great.

Whispering Canyon Cafe Lunch 10/10
Our ADR was for 2:15 and we arrived at the restaurant at approximately 2:05. It took them nearly 20 minutes to seat us despite an abundance of empty tables. Our server was Barbara and she was a lot of fun. She threw straws on the table ("Here! Have some more for prosperity!") and made Mom a napkin bib after she got BBQ sauce on her shirt.
DSCN0533.JPG

Our drinks were a Coke for Mom and a water and Chocolate Shake for me.
DSCN0528.JPG

The shake was really good but needed to be stirred up a bit because all the chocolate sauce was kind of just sitting there.

DSCN0529.JPG

DSCN0532.JPG

The infamous skillet. We barely made it through one. We did not care for the pork sausage and I didn't really like the beans either. I really liked the chicken and Mom really liked the ribs. The mashed potatoes were outstanding. The corn on the cob was also very good and sweet. The skillet also comes with cornbread and coleslaw.
DSCN0531.JPG

The coleslaw was pretty good and the cornbread was just alright. It was kind of dry and crumbled when cut.

Aloha Isle 10/10
We stopped to get our traditional Pineapple Dole Whip Float about an hour after we arrived at MK. It was sweet and refreshing, just what we were looking for after a slightly disastrous entry into the MK.
DSCN0558.JPG

Sleepy Hollow 10/10
This funnel cake had been in our plans for months, but it was at the last minute that we decided to go for the strawberries and cream version.
DSCN0565.JPG

It was soooo good. The whipped cream and strawberries were especially delicious.

I also stopped at Casey's Corner later in the evening to get corn dog nuggets but the camera had died so no picture. There were more nuggets in the cup than I remembered or expected, and I ended up throwing a lot away. They were also a little more crispy than I would have liked.

********************

Will post more this afternoon or evening when I'm back at school. Coming up: Cape May Cafe breakfast, Earl of Sandwich, Goofy's Candy Co., and Chik-Fil-A.

I love this review! I'm so jealous of all everything you've eaten! I now know that I must take a trip to Disney during the F&W sometime. Great pictures and great reviews. I'm even more jealous now because I see that Chick-Fil-A is coming up. I wanted that so badly during our last trip and couldn't wait to get to the airport to try it...only to find that it was Sunday and I completely forgot that it would be closed. :headache: But I'm going to pig out there the next time!

:faint: you threw away drinks?

ok - I truly do get it - I try and post a description of the Gran Marnier slush - I love Gran Marnier, it is a warm, cognac after dinner type drink... very strong, and for me, yum! The slush is hard to describe - not very orangey - but the Grey Goose Slush, that one is much more refreshing -imho it is light, and citrisy - vodka doesnt have a strong taste - its delightful!

Thank you for the many pictures - Germany looks delicious - wish I could go for F&W!! Thanks for sharing! I'd forgotten about the Sleepy Hollow funnel cake! Yum!
