I don't believe the bun was wheat, but it certainly didn't fall apart! One the receipt the burger says $9.49 (includes the fries) and the sundae is $7.99. :thumbsup2

i'm subbing too Gretchen- loving all the food porn! Just hate that you have had so much bad rain the last few days! It is still in the forecast for us too week after next. boo!

can't wait to try that dragon berry colada!:thumbsup2

So excited to see the live food and wine pics!! Enjoying your report very much. I'll be there in 10 days and this helping me decide what I want to try. Thanks for a great report!:cool1:

The rain mostly stopped around 11:15, and the sun has been out on and off since 1:15 or so. I was going to update this afternoon, but took advantage of the weather to go to the pool!

This is the first time I've ever subscribed to a food review, although I'm a long term lurker! We're leaving for our first ever F&W trip in 3 days, so this live review is awesome, thanks! I'm afraid there's lots of rain forecasted for our trip, so we don't want to stand in lines wet for something not worth it :sad2:

Great review so far! Can't wait for more!

Wow!!! That No Way Jose looks HUGE!!! I just had to show it to my husband. It's his favorite sundae ever!! I can't eat chocolate or it might be mine too. HIs day off is tomorrow, wonder if he will "drag" us there after being taunted by the pic?

We haven't been to Cape May Cafe for years. Last time we were the meal was around $25 a person. I always enjoyed eating there. The pictures of the desserts look wonderful, Oh! Those crab legs!! Yum!! When we were there all those years ago, we had to pay extra for crab legs.

How was your mother's croissant berry bread pudding?

The shrimp on the barbie looks great! Was the pepper spicy in the sauce? Definately want to try this!

I hope you had a nice swim and the weather cooperates better. It sure has been a rainy couple of days!

She really liked it! I didn't care for it too much. The pepper was not very spicy that I recall. The weather did hold out! It got pretty windy this evening, but no more rain!

Sunshine Seasons Dinner 10/8
When we returned to the park after our break, we headed to Sunshine Seasons for dinner. I was really hungry, but my eyes were bigger than my stomach! I ordered the turkey and monterey jack and Mom chose the reuben panini. We shared a Strawberry Shortcake for dessert.

The sandwiches were both very good but we ended up throwing a lot of them out. The turkey sandwich had jalapenos on it, which I don't remember from years past. I don't care for the potato salad (the only side offered at this station), but Mom likes it. The shortcake was light, fluffy, and delicious as always.

After hanging out in Future World for a bit and attempting to wait for the rain to stop, we decided to make the best of it and head back to World Showcase. Our first stop was Hawaii for the Kalua Pork Slider with Pineapple Chutney and Spicy Mayo.
DSCN0318.JPG

This was really good! There was a tiny kick to it, but not too much, the pork was well cooked and the pineapple added an unusual twist.

Next up was the Dessert and Champagne booth. We ordered the trio. Top left is the Lemon Chiffon, bottom left is the White Chocolate Macadamia Mousse with Dark Chocolate Pearls, and on the right is the Tres Leches Verrine.
DSCN0319.JPG

The Lemon Chiffon was our least favorite. It was a little too tart. The Mousse was our second favorite. I liked the combination of flavors. And the Tres Leches Verrine was our favorite, one of the best things we ate! We still don't know exactly what it was, but it was soooo good. It seemed like some sort of a cake soaked in something. Sorry, that's a terrible description!

Greece was next door, so we went there. We chose the Griddled Greek Cheese with Pistachios and Honey and the Chicken Souvlaki with Tzatziki.

DSCN0320.JPG

These were both...interesting. The cheese would have been good on it's own or with the pistachios, but the honey was too sweet for the cheese. It was also sticky to eat with fingers, but difficult to eat with a knife and fork.

The chicken and pita parts of the souvlaki were good but the sauce tasted overwhelmingly of dill.

Our last booth for the evening was Ireland. We decided on the Warm Chocolate Lava Cake with Bailey's Irish Cream Ganache. (The other items sounded great as well, and unfortunately, we never made it back to try them. :sad2:)
DSCN0322.JPG

This was tiny, but very rich. It was fine that we shared. Mom said the Bailey's also made her feel warm. This was a very good choice!

Beach Club Marketplace Breakfast 10/9
Sunday morning I went down to the Marketplace shortly after opening to grab some breakfast. Our selections for the day were a Blueberry Muffin, a Lemon Cranberry Scone, and a carton of milk.
DSCN0340.JPG

Mom had several of the scones over the previous few days, and she says they are really good. I had the muffin and it was moist and filled with blueberries.

After spending some more time in Future World and dealing with the most intense rain yet, we headed toward World Showcase just as the rain was stopping. Our first booth of the day was Scandinavia where we opted for the Rice Pudding with Driscoll's Strawberries.
DSCN0369.JPG

We both really liked this. The strawberries were sweet and the rice pudding was smooth and creamy.

Our plan was to alternate every other booth, so our next stop was South Korea for the Boolgogi BBQ Beef with Rice and Kimchi.
DSCN0370.JPG

This was probably our least favorite item. It was super spicy and that was something we don't like and weren't expecting. The rice helped to neutralize the beef a bit, but the kimchi was just over the top spicy.

After that not so great experience it was on to the Cheese booth! We got both food items here: the Artisan Cheese Selection and the Fondue with Sourdough Bread.
DSCN0372.JPG

DSCN0374.JPG

The cheese on the left was a stronger cheese and that's honey drizzled over it. This was just okay. The middle cheese was our favorite and it was a goat cheese with cranberries, I think. The end cheese was more of a spreadable kind, and we have no idea what the brown stuff is, but it was very sweet.

The fondue was not smooth; it was a little bit chunky. Mom said she tasted a mix of cheeses in it. The sourdough was very good.

Next booth in the lineup was Poland. Here we got the standard of Kielbasa and Potato Pierogies with Sour Cream and Caramelized Onion.
DSCN0383.JPG

The pierogie was good, but as others have said, tasted like something from the freezer aisle at the grocery store. The kielbasa seemed to be grilled and was kind of crunchy on the outside, a new style of it for us (we normally boil it).

Mom wanted something sweet to top it off, so we went for Hops and Barley. Here we got the Pumpkin Mousse with Craisins and later, the Perfect Maine Lobster Roll.
DSCN0386.JPG

DSCN0396.JPG

OMG the mousse was hands down the best thing we ate at the festival. I love pumpkin and I like cranberries. There was some sort of brown sugary cake thing in between the layers. It was just sweet and delicious and I could rave about it for hours. Try it!

The lobster roll was also very good. Mom says it was a quality lobster piece. I've never had lobster before and I liked it. The roll was a toasted garlic bread.

The sun was actually out now and we next went towards New Zealand. Mom chose the Seared Sea Scallop with Kumara-Red Curry Puree and Apple Radish Salad and I got the Lamb Slider.
DSCN0400.JPG

DSCN0401.JPG

The slider was really good! There was a little too much of the tomato chutney but overall I really liked it. Mom enjoyed the scallop, but I didn't care for the tiny bite I had.

Our last booth before our afternoon break was Belgium. Here we ordered the Belgian Waffle with Berry Compote and Whipped Cream and the Chocolate Seashell Truffles.
DSCN0402.JPG

DSCN0403.JPG

The waffle was smaller than I expected but fresh and delicious. I don't know what the fruit was but it was a teeny bit tart. The truffles were very good and Mom identified them as having a hazelnut taste.

Beach Club Marketplace Snack
After some pool time I stopped back by the Marketplace and got a slice of cheesecake.
DSCN0406.JPG

I was debating between a sugar cookie and the cheesecake, but a Cast Member came by and said the cheesecake was one of her favorite items, so I chose that. It was smooth, creamy, and delicious.

Up next: China, Germany, Italy, France (drinks), Kringla Bakeri and Karamell Kuche.

***************
I will try to post another update today, but no guarantees. Our schedule is pretty packed: We're going to rent a surrey bike and spend some time at the pool, lunch is at Whispering Canyon Cafe and then we're attending Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween Party tonight. Tomorrow is breakfast at Cape May Cafe and then Downtown Disney, where we will be getting items from those favorite places of DISers, Earl of Sandwich and Goofy's Candy Co. If I can't post today, I will try to post tomorrow if we get to the airport with enough time to use the computer or after we get home around 10:30pm.
