Right now I have a 3/4 bed.. Wooden headboard and footboard.. The bed is killing me! I wake up every day with a backache.. I bought one of those "egg crate" things (had to go with a full-size that is a little too big, but I've managed) and for awhile it was good, but no more..
When we move my options are: take the bed and maybe buy a feather bed to put on top of the mattress (again, I'll have to go with the full-size and deal with it); buy a whole new twin size bed and mattress (which would give me more room in my bedroom - but I don't think I'd be all that comfortable in it without more sleeping area); or buy a full-size bed, mattress, and the feather bed to go on top of that..
While I was out today I looked at some beds, but I can't find what I'm looking for.. If I have to buy a new full-size bed, I just want an inexpensive brass or metal headboard and footboard and I'll be darned if I can find one..
If I keep the 3/4 bed, I want to paint it white (it's like a maple finish right now that's kind of shiny) but I'm not sure if the paint would adhere to it or not..
Any suggestions?
(**And in case you're wondering, my DH has to sleep in a recliner because of his lung problems, so his needs don't factor into the type or size of bed that I end up with..)
