Ideas for leftover ham.

Chop it into pieces and freeze. I do this all the time and then take out as needed.

I fry it in some butter and evoo for ham and eggs for breakfast.
I also use it in ham and potato soup. Check out the recipe on allrecipes.
 
You can cut it fine and put it on salad. Or if you have a can of plain pea soup add it in that. You can add it to all kinds of casseroles . I have just been munching on it for the extra protein. Lay it out with a veggie dish. I only bought a 3 pound one and it is almost gone.
 
We love ham loaf. Like a meatloaf, but you use ham and sausage instead.

HAM LOAF
5 lbs. ground ham loaf (3 lbs. ground ham, 2 lbs. ground sausage)
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. chopped onions
2 c. dry bread crumbs
3 eggs, beaten
2 c. milk


Mix together and form into individual servings (about 30) or into a loaf like any meat loaf. Bake 350 degrees for about one hour.


BROWN SUGAR SAUCE FOR HAM LOAF:


1 1/3 c. brown sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
1/2 c. water
3 3/4 tsp. dry mustard


Boil these ingredients until a thin syrup. Pour fat off ham during last half hour of baking. Pour syrup over ham - baste twice before removing from oven.
