Hi all,

Despite it not being my son's birthday while we are there, I just love the idea of the pressies from individual characters that I am going to incorporate that in to the Grand Welcome that I'm hoping to pull off when we go.

My difficulty is that I can't find anything to go in the boxes!!!

Normally, every poundstretcher store has heaps of Disney stuff but right now there is absolutely nothing! I've got so much Cars stuff, its unreal but I want Mickey, Minnie and Donald stuff. Anyone got any ideas?

I think I'm going to have to re-decorate 'normal' stuff like chocolate etc - but I can't just have a box filled with sweets and candy.... I thought I could maybe re-cover some small bottles of bubble bath or something. I just can't think what else I can cobble.

I'm going to make t-shirts, so they could go in the boxes I guess. And his autograph book and the photo frame with a pic of the fab 5 in. but that's all mickey, what about Minnie and Donald?!?!

I am really hoping some of you kind souls come up with other ideas, pleeeeeeeeeeeeease help!

Thanks in advance!

This thread should give you tons of ideas:

I'm doing gift bags for the two grandkids when we go in June. So far, I'm planning to include:
- autograph book
- Epcot passport
- personalized activity/coloring book
- personalized trip journals
- water misters (cheapies from Target) that I decorated with Disney stickers
- lanyards with name badges
- personalized pressed penny containers (use mini M&M containers)
- welcome letters from their favorite character
- small bags of candy (mini M&M's :)) with personalized bag toppers
- Hershey bars with personalized wrappers

And of course, some Tshirts and maybe even a few other things like a personalized pillow case, etc. I just got a new embroidery machine, so I'm rarin' to experiment!! :goodvibes
Have fun!!

Oh - and a disposable camera too. You can find a template for the Fuji disposables online, and I cover it with Disney scrapbook paper.

There are TONS of Disney coloring pages on the web so by doing a search, character specific or not, you could put together an amazing collection!!

K9pal: my sewing machine is almost ready for the Smithsonian! :lmao:

Can you tell me what embroidery machine you just got? I want to expand my artistic endeavors! :wizard:

Thanks K9Pal and Marion, I'm getting there. From that list I have the autograph book (in progress, lol, it is currently thicker than my laptop hahaha), the trip journal, the welcome letters and the personalised candy. Making up colouring books is a really good idea too, thank you.

So excited, only 1 month to go!!

(sorry, been away for a few days and just saw this)
I got a Brother SE-400. It's a sewing/embroidery machine and is perfect for my needs. It's not top of the line by any means, but very affordable and can be upgraded with additional software and attachments. Got mine on Amazon.com. Talk about old sewing machines - my previous one is made of metal!! :lmao:

I am getting ready to do this myself. My son's birthday is in one week so I'll get tons of pics. Maybe it will give you some ideas. I'll tell you right now that I went WAAAAY overboard. But this is not something I will do again so please don't judge my going crazy :rotfl:. Since we will be there Friday and his birthday is not until Monday, I plan to put everything out early before he wakes up so that the characters "snuck in" while he was sleeping and left him presents. Also, I am changing some of the characters up and adding some of his favorites. Because we are driving over I can sneak all this in the car. It would be tough for someone flying. Here is what I have planned:

Food
A Mickey Face cake from Boardwalk Bakery - I have preordered this but having lots of trouble with their CS so I am not sure this will pull off. The charge has not come off my CC so making me nervous. Im gonna try to call yet again tomorrow.

A Mickey Edible Arrangement - This was pricey, as was the cake, but we all like cake and fruit so will benefit, lol. I'll just have to keep him out of the fridge the day before!

Candy Apples and treats from Goofy's Candy Co - will pick these up the day before.

I have a bunch of decorations already and a disposable helium tank I got from Walmart for $20. I also picked up some cool Mickey bowls and stuff from Target over Christmas.

Presents

Mickey: Monorail Set - I still have to pick this up from DTD. I wasn't going to get this due to cost but DH yelled at me for being tight  so I caved.

Goofy: A little stuffed doll I got from Toys R Us at Christmas. It has some code to give him an extra adventure on our Disney Kinnect game

Donald: A T-shirt that I did an iron on for his birthday. I will leave some feathers by it.

Tinkerbell: A $50 gift card that I will sprinkle gold glitter around for pixie dust.

Buzz Lightyear: Pajamas I got online from Disney store

Stitch: A big 18" stuffed Stitch I got online as well. Stitch is his fav character

Pluto: A game for his DS (and I totally bought a dog bowl for $1 at Target to leave this in....and I have no dog!)

Captain Jack Sparrow: A Jack Sparrow barbie doll type thing (very manly, lol) that I saw on clearance

I think that's it? I've been sort of gathering stuff over the last 6 months that now I'm forgettting what I got! lol I'm also gonna get his hair gelled at the Barber's, breakfast at Chef Mickeys, and the Dessert Wishes party.

Like I said, this is not a normal thing for us. I have 3 kids with birthdays in January and they usually just get one thing. But we had a good year and my twins turned 18 on New Years and we went all out for them too. So we figured we'd just make it a fun event.

Hopefully that will give you some ideas. :cutie:
