The Land and Garden Grill are still closed due to refurbishment of this area. The last thing I heard from someone attempting to make a PS was that it would not be open until June. I haven't heard anything else since.

All you have to do is call Disney Dining for PS for the ice cream social. Just ask for it at the Garden Grill restaurant.

It is closed at this time though so unless you are going after late June (I think I remember reading the 25th or after) you won't be able to partake. If your trip is after this time frame then you can get your PS 90 days out.

I called a couple of weeks ago and was told it would open the end of June or 1st week of July. We will be there July 10-16 and are planning to attend the social. The kids can't wait.

Going to be at WDW June 5th thru 10th, tried to PS the Ice Cream Social and was told it would not be open until June 25th. Only PS I couldn't get out of the 5 I tried for.

I'm the one that started this question, regarding the Ice Cream Social, that I've heard about, but I'm not even sure what it is? Can someone clarify? An ice cream buffet? approximately how much per person? THANKS!

I tried to make a ps for the ice cream social this morning for July 4th. They told me it was closed for refurbishment and the CM had no idea when it might be open again. I believe she said "closed indefinitely".

We like the Garden Grill, but have not tried the ice cream social before. I had a ps for my trip last year and at the last minute we decided to skip it. Now I wish we hadn't.

The ice cream social is not a buffet. It is individual ice cream cups (made up really cute, especially for the kids) served tableside with water. It is a fun thing to do and a very inexpensive way to meet the characters. My kids also loved that the restaurant revolved.

Be aware, since I see you have 6 children, we tried to make PS for 8 and were told that required a credit card deposit (no other ps's except for a select few require this for a party of 8), so we just made two PS's for 4 and it worked out great. We didn't want to leave the cc just in case we didn't make it for some reason. I wonder if they do that because they make up the ice cream treats ahead of time? I don't know. By the way, this was back in Nov. so I'm not sure if it is still the same policy, just thought I'd mention that it was back then.

I'm planning on doing it again. The ice cream is done up so nicely. And the characters are great. We had a end both and the characters would sneak around the corner on my four year old.

It's $7 per person, kids and adults I'm so bummed we'll miss it
