I will order and review for you, live!!!

Love the live reviews!

Captain's Grille:
Lump Crab Cake
Stone-Ground Mustard-Rubbed New York Strip
Chocolate Profiterole

You CAN make the Guinness reduction. We (well my dh :thumbsup2 ) has made it at home a few times since we tried it there. It is a little time consuming though as you really can't walk away from it.

Raglan Road Guinness Dipping Sauce
1 3/4 cup Guinness
1 3/4 cup sugar
In a medium sized pot combine the Guinness and sugar, simmer on low for approximately an hour. This mixture will reduce by at half if not more. The more this reduces the better, as you will end up with a tangy sauce. Do not walk away while this is cooking, it will bubble up while cooking, and you need to stir it from time to time so it does not bubble over the stove. Let the sauce cool to room temperature before serving. When you are ready to serve the sauce place equal amounts of the reduction and olive oil (you do not need to use extra virgin, in fact, don’t, the flavor won’t right). Dip pieces of bread into the reduction and enjoy.

OH THANK YOU SOOOOO MUCH!!!!! I cannot wait to get home and try this!!

Wow, Raglan Road does proper bacon with their mixed grill! That's one thing I always miss about breakfasts in America, everywhere serves those thin frazzled strips of overcooked streaky bacon.

Andre

LOL! Yes they do!! Proper from your side of the pond, I guess ;)
Of course to me all I could think was "uh... that's ham." :lmao:

can't wait to see what you ate

I hope you like the review! I will give you a hint..... my entree was not the pick of the evening by my fellow dissers. It was, however, the best entree of the trip thus far!

Well, you've managed to get me to come out of lurking and reading food reviews and actually post! :goodvibes

This is an awesome idea, and your videos and photography are fantastic! I hope you guys are having a good time in WDW.

For Captain's Grille, anything fish and for dessert, Disney's menu has a cherry-blueberry pie on it that sounds veryyyyy delicious.

YAY! I'm glad I could bring you out of lurkdom! Unfortunately we have already eaten, but I'm hoping that you still love the review.

We are eating at Captins for Valentine's ask them if they will have a special that night. :)

How about the Ribeye and the Apple Tart :thumbsup2

OOOOH, I didn't get this until we were finished! However, ask for Michele. She was our server tonight and she was STELLAR!

I am going to have to make this for my husband. Thanks!!

And I learned the bacon/ham thing a few weeks ago when I bought it at the grocery store. Might as well have ham, right?

Where to next? How long is your trip, this is fun lol

I'm really liking the quality and lack of noise in the lower-light video sections by the way - what camera are you using?

Andre

Andre (and VenomHatch, if you're lurking) my DH is very very happy to answer that question, as he has been waiting for this camera for a very very very long time. A company that we have been doing work for just paid off the second half of a previous contract and hired us for another contract, so DH was able to get ........ The Canon D5 Mark II. I have to keep telling my kids that the camera costs more than the trip and don't touch it! :lmao: He has another lens as well, so I'm not sure which glass he is using, and all of that is pretty much Greek to me anyway. But he specifically wanted it for low light situations. I'm going to post some photos in my trip report (once I get them into Photobucket!) that you absolutely will not believe. He took some shots yesterday of the kids at Sci-Fi that are unbelievable!

So I am totally not a stalker or anything :rolleyes1 but I wanted to see if your review was up while I was drinking my coffee so I checked your youtube channel. You ordered what I voted for :thumbsup2 it sounds so good.

Thanks for sharing!

Venom has a nice Nikon D5100 but as a Canon lover the D5 Mark II is awesome. We need to see some pics from that bad boy!

Thank you and your family for sharing your vacation with us! I just don't know what everyone will do when you go home in a few days. If you are a real good cook we could see some of your table service? LOL

I did the same thing as UndercoverMama  I was so anxious to see your review of Cap't Grill plus we do have an ADR for dinner there during our trip.

The steak looks like a winner as did the berry compote your DH had for dessert and I do think the turtle cheese cake has my DH name on it. I am a plain cheese cake type of person.
I was up in the air about an app but I think the crab cake will be what I try when we go.

Great review!!! Thanks for sharing :thumbsup2

I'm glad you liked it! I am still thinking about that freakin pork chop. MAN it was good. That corn mash was delicious with it, and there was a sautéed green (spinach maybe?) under the chop and above the corn. It was really really good!

HAHAH! I would love to! I will be cooking at home more, for sure, after the amount of money we spent on this trip. Honestly, we should've done the DDXP, but when I booked the trip we didn't have the money to upgrade. Some people say that is too much food, but we love the appetizers as a rule, and they are pricey! We also tend to sit and snack. For instance, we would rather go to sic fi and split milkshakes and burgers then go to an ice cream stand. If we ever get the opportunity to do free dining again, I will highly consider upgrading.

Love your videos!

Thank you!

Such a fun review!!! Chefs looks good
:thumbsup2Now I have to put that on my list for our next trip.

Chef's is our first night tradition, and it never disappoints.

So here are yesterday's reviews:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Xdnq41XWFh0

This has been sooooo much fun! I am going to do a review of Puck's today and I don't really know where we will be tonight. We had thought about staying one more night, but we just got a last minute job on Sunday filming a funeral :scared1: so we better get on the road.

Please stick around for the Puck review, and I have some news for all of you that I will be announcing during that review!!

Thank ya'll so much, lurkers and posters alike, for making this so much fun! We've had a blast! Once we get back I will post the pics on the Dining Pics thread!

I truly enjoyed following you guys....glad you had such a great time!

Sad it's coming to an end but thanks for such great reviews. By the way what was your dessert like at Garden Grill.

I hate to see the reveiws coming to an an DH and I have both truely enjoyed watching them.
We are having lunch at Big River Grill on arrival day so that was a great bonus for us and My DH also hates how the steak is always places over the potatoes. He has a quirk...does not like his food touching, when we remember we ask that they do not do that.

GG looked ok but we have not been back since it went character, it use to be one of our favorites when it was just a regular menu type of place. DH is arguing with me about that,(says it was family style back then) but I distintively recall ordering pork chops there.

Great reviews again and waiting for the surprise announcement :thumbsup2

In one word...FANTASTIC! :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2:thumbsup2 Can't wait to find out what your Disney secret is. :surfweb:

Oh no! Only one review left! You need to have longer vacations! :)

I've thoroughly enjoyed your reviews. Thanks so much for taking the time to do them!

OK so the Wolfgang Puck review is on my IPhone instead of the Canon, so we have to import that to do the voice over. I will get that done soon, I promise!
Let's just know and stand in agreement together that the bacon wrapped meatloaf is A....... MAZING!!!!!!

Ok time for the big announcement. DH and I have been having such a great time doing these reviews, and we have loved the responses that they have been getting. The number of views on YouTube really does just blow me away. So we have decided to start our own Podcast all about cooking Disney. It will be either weekly or biweekly. Every show I will pick a Disney menu item from the recipe list on AllEars.net (or any other Disney food recipe I can find) and prepare it. We will video the preparation and see if it really does taste like Disney!

I think it will be fun, and hopefully ya'll will enjoy it too. We already have the domain name CookingDisney.com, but we haven't set up the site yet. I am hoping to have the first shoot next week, and I would love the input of my Disney Dining friends as to what I should prepare first? Oh, and you better believe I will be making that Guiness reduction with Soda Bread at some point!

So, please tell me, what would you like me to make?

Well, I never had the original but I made the grapefruit cake from a recipe here on the dis and it is now on of my favorite cakes
