I think I'm going ot cry :-(

:bday:

Definitely keep calling back! There are always cancellations. That being said, I've heard from lots of people that ASmu is great! The owner of the Disboards just did a review of ASMu on his podcast last week and gave it a very good review. Or you can go with POR.
I know what a bummer it is though, you do all this research, get yourself psyched up and then call and...nothing. It's happened to me too. Whatever you decide, I'm sure it will be just great.

Just remember, wherever you stay, you are at Disney!:yay: Maybe something will open up at CSR, just keep calling. If it doesn't, whereever you stay, you will have a great time. I've stayed at POR before and we really liked it.

us too! Never been to CSR, but we loved POR! good luck to you!

QUICK - book POR!!!!! It is my favorite resort, granted I've only stayed at 3 of them but POR is so wonderful that I would miss it terribly if we stayed somewhere else. Definitely switch, you will be glad you did!!:goodvibes

Keep your chin up...the same thing happened to us and we are now staying at CSR! We originally booked for the week before FD was to start and we wanted to switch our dates so we could get free dining and add a day. We were able to switch but would have to do some room moves because the standard view wasn't available the length of our stay and neither was the waterview...we did not want to break up the say with several different room moves so we took the days that they had in the standard and I checked the website daily and as soon as I could book our stay in the room that we preferred I called and got my reservations switched. DH just called two days ago and added another night on to our reservation. Just keep checking...rooms do free up. Good luck

With CSR being a convention resort, there can be strange happenings in availability. Typically, when a convention is booked, x amount of rooms are blocked off (based on organizer's requirements). The convention-goers are given a set cutoff date in which to book, and the remaining rooms are then opened up again.

So, in other words, definitely keep checking if it's what you want. There's no guarantees that something will open up, but it's still worth a shot. Don't know unless you try :).

First, Happy Birthday.

Second, as others have said, KEEP CALLING BACK. There are cancellations, changes in dates, etc., all the time. In the meantime, book POR before that is gone too.

Although we've never stayed at POR (we've only stayed at the CSR), POR is the ONLY other moderate we would consider if the CSR were not available (we actually had it booked one night for our upcoming trip in September because we couldn't get the CSR for all of our nights; I kept calling back and I was able to change).

I had the same problem when we decided to change from Poly to BC, there were no rooms available. I kept checking every day (sometimes 2-3 times a day) on-line. A water view opened up when I had less than 30 days to go, I called right away and was able to get the room. I checked later that day and there were no rooms available.

Don't give up just keep trying.

Thank you to everyone who has responded, I can always count on everyone here to offer great advice. For those of you who told me not to cry since we do already have reservations and at least we'll be going one way or another you're absolutely right. Believe me I am very greateful to even be going and my frustration isn't over not getting exactly what I want, it's more just from stress. My family has appointed me as the person to plan absolutely everything. We considered upgrading and I got my heart set on one resort, but then they didn't want that one so I did tons of research on a different one and actually started getting excited about it, but then they wanted my first choice after all so I did more research and then finally tried ot book and it was full. It's just stress making me want to scream and cry. LOL

I think what I'm going to do is nothing for now. We already have a definite reservation at ASM at least. I'm going to keep checking on CSR because like you all have told me things change daily and something mayy open up. If it works out then great, if not then it wasn't meant to be. Also several people have mentioned ot me about renting DVC points which I know NOTHING about, but would like to check into it. Thank you again to each of you for your support, suggestions and birthday wishes as well. :-)

Thank you! And I'm so glad you liked AS Movies...you're about the only one I've heard who did. Everyone seems to have such bad things to say about it and especially the bus system and rooms. I saw a video of the rooms on YouTube and wow did I get clausterphobic just watching it....so tiny!!

As for our situation there are 4 adults and 2 kids (7 and 5) going down on a Saturday in October and on wednesday two of the adults and the two kids will be leaving and my mom and I will be staying on until the next Saturday.

:bday:

Keep calling back. Since you will need two rooms did you check and see if they only have one? And then you could keep calling for the other?

Don't give up hope! People cancel all the time. But be prepared to make your change immediately if something opens up. I had a similar situation a couple years ago. I was debating staying in a monorail resort or an Epcot resort, and when I made up my mind - no Epcot resort rooms available. It took about three days for me to find availability at BC and I booked it as soon as I saw it.

You'll have a great vacation no matter where you stay. I've stayed at nearly all the Disney resorts, and haven't found a bad one yet!

This. I would call every day about 30 minutes after the phone lines open, during a lunch break and before I go to bed. Have you seen all of these people on here debating which resort to choose and flipping back and forth? :rotfl: I really hope it works out for you. :goodvibes

We had a similar situation last summer and wanted WL and the CM told us to keep calling back, several times a day because things always change. Rooms are put on hold for several different reasons and people change their minds. We took her advice and within a week so the rooms with the view we wanted opened up.

Hoping you get what you are hoping for :cool1:

As others have said, you'll be in Disney, so you'll have fun no matter what! But, I'm going to add my vote for POR. Our family loves it there :thumbsup2

I have to be the with the PP that loves AS Movies!! I was just there a couple weeks ago for our most recent stay there. I love it there as well as AS Music. I love the AS resorts because they are just so much fun!! They are decorated fun and that helps! We stayed there with me, DS20, DD19, DD's BFF, and DD's DS9 10months. We had plenty of room. We never had to wait more than 5 minutes for a bus and it was never crowded. We've stayed there many times and very seldom have had to share a bus.

On the other hand, we also love POR! It is soooo relaxing and fun too but it's just not decorated as fun. DH loves it! We've stayed at POFQ and CSR but did not like either of them very much. They are our two least favorite resorts at WDW.

Like others have said, you're at WDW so it will be fun no matter what! ;)

Ok, well I think I've come to the conclusion that we're just going to stay where we are. I'm going to keep trying every so often to see if anything at CSR opens up and at some point I'd love to stay there along with POR and maybe even CBR again, but this time it's just not in the cards. When I go back with my husband or with my mom (or both) in the future then we'll definitely go moderate or deluxe if we're able, but this trip we're traveling with my two young cousins and we've all agreed this trip is ALL about the kids. Everything we're doing is centered around them so I think we'll just stay at AS movies and see how it goes. They are leaving on Wednesday and my mom and I will be there through saturday and were just kinda wanting something nice during the time after they leave, but oh well.....we'll be fine. It's Disney afterall...what is there to complain about!! Besides we mostly only need a shower and bed, we're rarely at the hotel much of the time anyway.

It sounds like you've already decided to stay where you are but I wanted to add my 2 cents for whatever that's worth. I've stayed at ASMo and thought it was great! Our last trip I stayed at POR and it was also very nice but ASMo has such a great Disney feel to it. It will be perfect for the age of children you are travelling with. Have fun and Happy Birthday!:goodvibes

Thank you for both the advice and the birthday wish. We aren't 100 percent but for now I think staying where we are will be the best. The kids will love AS movies and the fun colorful disney feel will be nice. In all honesty I have nothing against the resort, it looks quite fun actually. My only concern was with the small room size and the long bus waits I've heard about with having to share with all three All Star sites, but we'll make it work.

I just did a quick check on Expedia for a Saturday to a Saturday in October, and they have availability at CSR for the week I put in. Won't hurt to look.
Good luck.
