I think what discernment means is that the homosexual agenda is advancing little by little, and will be in place before anyone notices.

I used to work for the Episcopal Diocese of New York back in the mid-70's, when the ordination of women was a big issue. Now they have a female Presiding Bishop. It only took 30 years, which, I guess, is "incremental."

So I guess that, 30 years from now, heterosexual marriage will be destroyed because everybody will be involved in gay marriages.

I've been around for a FEW years and have seen some incredible changes in society but 30 years ago I was in NY and homosexuality was as much a part of life as any other thing. I guess being in a town that doesn't tear you to pieces because of your orientation kept me open minded about things that other part of the country consider the degradation of the world...

I mean if "affections" are inborn then arent they all "affections" included under that umbrella or do you get to pick and choose which ones are inborn based on your agenda.

But this newly elected Bishop is more concerned about pushing her agenda than tearing the whole demoniation apart. Nice. She shoudl have stuck to studying oysters

They probably were inborn (or the priests were abused themselves as youngsters... or both). But what they did was ILLEGAL and HARMFUL to those young children. In a gay relationship, both people choose to be involved. Those children didn't.

If her agenda is to accept everyone and to stop calling certain people "sinners", I'm all for it!!
Why are you so hung up on her previous occupation? We all have to start somewhere. My Episcopal priest was a lawyer before being ordained. Many clergy have careers in other things before being called to a spiritual life.
Even Pope John Paul II was a quarry worker before the priesthood.

I am SO glad I live in the country I live in when I read things like this thread.

Gay people can get married here, and for as far as I know, in the near future they will even be able to adopt children.
