Last week my dh and I were about to go on Space Mountain but the CM blocked off the entrance just as we approaching, stating that the ride was down. We decided to go on the Tomorrowland Transit Authority in the meantime. Once on it, I realized that if Space Mountain was down, they might have the lights on in which case we would get a whole new perspective of the ride while viewing it from the TTA. We passed through, and I was right! It was so neat to see the ride with all of the fluorescent lights on...you really get more of a reference point of the height of the ride and how tightly woven the tracks are together. It was pretty cool! Suddenly it dawned on me to take a picture, but I couldn't get my camera out in time. At the end of the ride, we jumped on again, hoping that the ride was still down so I could take that photo I wanted...no such luck. SM was up and running again, completely dark. Oh well!

Anyway, if SM is ever down while you are there, I'd recommend going on the TTA to get an unusual perspective of the roller coaster!

My mom and dad were able to see the inside a long time ago. They were actually on the ride and near the end and it stopped and all of the lights came on. They said it looked like a big mess. :) I would love to see what it looks like!

Yeah, it did look kind of messy and it's very drab looking; kind of all gray and dismal. It just looked like a bunch of messed up scaffolding. Much better in the dark!

I have tried to take pictures of Space Mountain with the lights on from the TTA. They came out poorly. Even with the lights on, it is still rather dark in there. The camera's flash went off. There is a plexiglass barrier between the ride and the TTA track. That plexi must be ancient. It is almost opaque with scratches and dust.

It is definitely neat to see. I was amazed to see how both tracks start off so close and separate. Then, they are VERy tightly packed into that building.

Someone at one time had posted a picture of it with the lights on but I don't remember who.

I was taken from the floor looking up so it was probably taken by an employee.

It was such a neat picture!

It actually was kinda spooky thetime I saw it with the light on but maybe that wasjust me.:o

Ted and Holly what is that candy from Norway like?

I got to see it with the lights on once. My dad had finally convinced me to go on it...I was about 8. Well, we walked up and it was closed for referb...I was very excited, because I really didn't want to go on it!! Anyways we went on the "people mover" and got to see them welding it...yes welding..and I was relieved that I didn't go on. I didn't go near roller coasters until I was like 13-14!!!

I also have taken photos that didn't turn out very well.

I think it's really drab looking and I also thought the coasters themselves looked less impressive than I expected.

We have videotape from TTA with the lights on at SM:earsboy:

We also got to see it with the lights on when we were riding the people mover. I agree, it looks rather drab that way.
