[veruca salt]I really really want to to stay in a 2 bedroom!![/veruca salt] I know we'll legally fit into a one bedroom (this is not a occupany thread) but after staying in 2 bedrooms and watching youtube videos of two bedrooms- they are just so much bigger and luxurious to me. :cloud9: Is it worth the extra approximate 83 points to stay in a 2 bedroom for 10 nights vs a 1 bedroom?

It is to us, if we have more than two adults we get the two bedroom. They are quieter too. No shared door with the neighbors. We always seem to get neighbors that want to bang on the common door.

I guess it depends on your privacy preferences.
We always get 2 bdrms, but we have 5 kids so we need it.

For 10 days I want to have plenty of room but because we fit into a one bedroom it feels unneccesary, even indulgent. I would have to borrow more points.

We have 3 kids but the thought of not having to undo and make that sofa bed every morning and night sounds okay be me! My girls can share a queen and my son can have the other. The living room can be a living room. :lovestruc

83 doesn't seem like very many points to upgrade from a 1 BR to a 2 BR, for 10 nights.
What resort are you staying at and what time of year.

Just curious, so I can check into it for my next year trip.

I am always borrowing, but I figure so what at the end I will be so old I could care less about that last year or so. :rotfl:

Life is short, endulge. :thumbsup2

And yes we really use our living room. We all seem to have different sleep patterns and its nice to have a room to go to when you can't sleep to get a snack, read a book or watch TV without having someone sleeping there.

 Still haven't completed decided. The first 5 nights we will be at SSR where we own. :cloud9: I haven't decided if we'll split stay or stay at SSR the entire time. We will be there December 12-22, 2011. Our original dates were December 18-28 but the points increase dramatically on the 23rd forward as do crowd levels. :scared1: I am tossing around the idea of maybe BLT or OKW or BWV or AKV for the second half but it changes daily. :hyper:

And you are right, it isn't that much to upgrade. :thumbsup2

:rotfl2: :thumbsup2 That's where I am heading and love your philosophy!

Us too. My home has living areas where no one sleeps so naturally, I want that same comfort on vacation. I am an early riser and it's nice not to have to tip-toe around while making my coffee and such. Maybe this should be part of that spoiled thread?!

I say go for it. I do it just to have my own bathroom. Just me & my 2 kids and we have a 2 BR at BCV next week (followed by a 1 BR at BLT for the rest of the week.) I think for a 10 night stay, the 5 of you would really appreciate the extra space & bathroom. If you are doing a split stay, get a 2 BR for at least part of the trip - that would be a good compromise (stay at BLT in a 1 BR for the 2nd half and still enjoy that extra bathroom!!!!)

How many bathrooms do the one bedrooms at BLT have? Your trip sounds amazing! :thumbsup2

Last trip we went from a GV to a 2 bedroom to a standard room. :scared1: I don't think I will go smaller again- only bigger and start with the one bedroom and move up if that's the decision especailly with 5 of us.

Thanks, I always wrestle with 1 BR vs 2 BR because its so many more points, but thats not too bad.
I prefer not to borrow, because I know I will want to go 4 or 5 times the next year. Maybe I'll have to cut down the trips per year, and upgrade the accommodations.

Thanks for sharing the info

Wow, you do go often! :thumbsup2 I didn't look but am guessing you are local or fairly close- within reasonable driving distance.

I think our stay this past June at the GCV raised my vacation bar.

No I'm in Connecticut, and always fly. It's approx a 1000 mi drive, been there done that. Maybe if I was going for a month I would drive again.

1 BR's at BLT have 2 full baths - the one off the living room is a little on the small side but perfectly functional and its so nice for mom not having to share her master bathroom.

Perhaps you could start out at a 1 BR at BLT, then move to a 2 BR at SSR for your stay (working your way up, so to speak.)

Very excited about the upcoming trip. My job has been super stressful lately and if it weren't for a new hire starting on Monday, I might have had to cancel. We plan on spreading out at BCV and enjoying the resort & SAB so I can get a little well needed R & R....we have some ADR's at Epcot & DHS and will spend some time at the parks. Then onto BLT and we'll spend some significant time at the MK (my kids are 9 & 12, but it's still their favorite.) We'll go up to TOTWL at least once (another good reason for you to try out BLT - best place ever for fireworks viewing, IMHO.)

Good luck with your plans - I hope you splurge on that 2 bedroom. I know you will enjoy it!

I figure if you have to sleep in each room, you lose the Home Away From Home feeling.

It makes a huge difference to our enjoyment to have that living room for living, not sleeping.

If you really want it book it. That works out to 8 points a night for what is essentially the space of a studio over magic season! That's a great deal!

I have no issues with borrowing. My job is stressful and I want to really enjoy everyday of my vacation to the hilt. There will come a time that I will have to cancel a trip or downgrade. Until then I plus my trips and don't regret 1 extra point I spent:)

I might be a bad one to ask, but we get a 2 bedroom when it's just 4 of us adults. With 3 kids, I'd say go for it.:thumbsup2

I totally agree!

I figure that's what my points are for...to enjoy!

Why not try and get an AKV value two bed as a compromise.

<----- Green with envy!

:thumbsup2 That does sound nice. I swear I wasn't even considering BLT and know it might be very difficult at the 7 month mark but I am going to look into it more.

That would make sense points wise too as BLT cost more than SSR.

:cloud9: Your plans sound terrific. Will you do a report? What's TOTWL?

I agree. I hate that messy look too with jammies and blankets and pillows all over.

If you really want it book it. That works out to 8 points a night for what is essentially the space of a studio over magic season! That's a great deal!

Good point. 8 points a night seems like hardly anything for an extra bedroom and bathroom.

:goodvibes

:thumbsup2 I like that thinking! I know DH would rather have more room too. We will have 4 non-park days and he'll have his clubs and we may even bring the Wii or PS3 so we'll need more room simply because we'll have more stuff. Now I am thinkning we should go for 11 nights!

I thought about that and AKV is on my possible split stay list. We have stayed at AKV and loved it- it's a beautiful resort. The only aspect we didn't love was that it's out in the boonies respectively. Values at AKV are the best deal in town by far!
