I need to hear from fellow ride chickens about 7DMT!

Awwwww... you will be fine. And probably love it. It is so smooth. Way less intense than Thunder Mountain. It's not really intense at all. Have fun and enjoy!:earsboy:

I think 7dmt is not as wild a ride as Big Thunder . . . so if you lived through that, 7dmt should be fine for you!

I'm such a chicken. I don't ride anything. I felt like I had to ride mine train once to see what all the fuss is about. It is super smooth and there aren't any real drops. You go up but then curve around on the way down so you don't get that dropping sensation (that I hate). It is also really really short. I really liked it : )

I'm a ride chicken, and I found it not scary but just thrilling enough. I'd ride it again for sure.

I went on Expedition Everest once, and while it was fun and I'm glad I did it, I am in no hurry to ride it again.

One suggestion for 7DMT... if you or anyone in your party is a ride chicken, but is willing to ride, go in the daytime. At night there are bright lights that hit you at eye level and can disoriented you. Makes the ride a slight bit more thrilling (only slightly unless you are like my daughter that rode it at night and hated it)

Mine was a night ride, maybe that's why we were so terrified for 3 seconds or so.

about equivalent of goofys barnstormer, IMHO. I am a big ride chicken (never even tried BTMR or Splash, much less EE, TT, etc.) and I thought 7DMT was even a bit boring.

I'm a chicken (or some sort of bird)....

I did 7DMT because I really wanted to go on with my son. After doing it (5 times, I might add), I built up the courage for BTMRR. BTMRR is more intense.

The only 'warning' I'll give is that it starts quickly, which was surprising to me. I was expecting a slow role out of the station, like a typical rollercoaster. But, it starts quickly and goes down a bit. All good though. Loved everything. I might have even found enough courage to go EE next time but I doubt it.

It's so smooth that the intensity goes way down. It's very similar to Barnstormer but that one is over so quickly.

If you're really uneasy, try watching the Youtube videos on the coaster. Yes, it spoils some of the "new" experience but it helped me get over my initial fears. Somehow, I didn't pick up on the quick start.

I can do BT & TT just fine, but that's my limit. No Everest, no Space, no RNR or ToT. With that said, I love 7DMT. It's very mild compared to BT. As "Accident" said previously, where you sit will make a difference. The front of the train is much slower & milder than the back.

If you can do Matterhorn, this will seem very gentle in comparison.

I don't do any of the big coasters ever! I do BTMR maybe every couple years, but defintiely not every year. But, I've done 7DMT every visit, sometimes a couple times. But, I always ask to sit in the front car, and definitely not in the back one! I'd heard it was less intense in the front row and lots more in the back. And, I heard that after I had ridden in the back and didn't like it too much and was reconsidering whether I'd ride again. So I tried that and it was definitely better to ride in the front, so I'd suggest that! I didn't get to read the rest of the thread yet, so if this was already said, I'm just confirming that, lol!

My youngest, who is a ride chicken, loved 7DMT last time! She was 10 at the time and we went on it 3-4 times throughout our trip. She hates Splash because of the drop but she can handle this one!

DH is NOT a coaster rider. He'll do the rumpy-bumpy Dinosaur with no issues but won't even consider BTMR. He did 7Dwarves two to three times with no issue. It's on his normal rotation now, depending on FP's and wait times. I'm pretty sure all the hills that you go down are visible from the front of the ride so you know what you're in for.

My mom is a ride chicken (hates the drop in Splash, won't do EE, hates Space Mountain and ToT, etc) but she enjoys Big Thunder and she LOVED 7DMT. We did early morning magic in September and she rode 7DMT five times in a row! I think you will be fine, it's a very charming and very smooth coaster!

Sorry to jump on your post, just wondered if anyone can tell me if there are any rides that do loop the loop or hang you upside down. I'm also a big ride chicken and that's a massive no no for me!!

Also, is the Big Thunder ride at WDW the same/similar to the one at DL Paris?

I am a big ride chicken!! I call the a huge drop on Pirates and my family laughs and says it is a dip but to me it is huge. With that said I can do Barnstormer but only because my kids are little enough someone has to ride with them but I feel beat up afterwards. 7dwarfs is my favorite ride. I was so nervous to ride it and now I love it!!! when you go in the mine and start going up you will think you are going to have a huge drop at the top but it has a little hump in it that slows you down. try and sit towards the front and I think you will be fine. I won't even attempt BTMRR :)

I don't do coasters. Don't like Big Thunder. Mine train was an easy piece of cake. What I wish more were like. Go for it.

I am a big chicken of most rollercoasters, I am 50 years old. I went on this ride and it really really WAS NOT BAD at all. Ask to sit in the front. The theming of this ride is amazing. It's over so quickly and I say you should go for it!!!!

RNRC at DHS does a loop. It is the only one. EE at AK goes backwards in the dark for a bit and it disorients you. The first time we rode it, afterwards DH was convinced there was a loop even thought there is not.

7DMT is much tamer than BTMRR. It is not as rough or jerky, I don't feel like it goes that fast, and it also has a slow part through the mine that breaks it up a bit. Honestly, I think the Barnstormer is faster and scarier than 7DMT. You should give 7DMT a try- we really enjoy it!

Gosh this is me all over! You, and everyone else here, is encouraging me to try this one. Pirates (and my beloved Maelstrom!) is about my ceiling, although Dinosaur doesn't bother me. It is the big drops, and 7DMT sounds like it doesn't have those. I might try it!
