Wow - what a great project, Brad!
Darn - I thought maybe you would be going to Jambo - I know your Council is just one down from ours. My son is going - his 2nd Jambo - the first one he was 13 and broke his arm on the 3rd day, so he's hoping to have a little more fun this next time around.
So - when do you think you will have your Court of Honor? How tough was the Board of Review? Were you sweating it? My son says that it's pretty intimidating to sit before a bunch of people and be questioned about a variety of things!
Congratulations, again! I'm very proud of you.
Spinning - some boys drop out of Scouts after achieving Eagle. My son became an Eagle Scout in 2003. (Board of Review in
Feb., Court of Honor in June.) He truly loves Scouting and camping and the OA (Order of the Arrow, Scouting's national honor society of camping), so he has remained very active with the Troop, OA and Scouting. In fact. he went to Philmont in 2003, NOAC this past summer, and was just made Administrative Vice Chief in his OA Lodge.
Boys can be a part of the Troop as a Boy Scout until they turn 18, after that they can then become as Assistant Scoutmaster or a committee member.
