Anyone else? We're getting our stuff ready to go and I love the smell of campfires, cookouts and s'mores that came out of the box o'tarps when I opened it.
Setting up tent in living room and checking air mattress for leaks as this will be our spare room when our adult kids and grandson join us. Also cleaning out our Travel Trailer...just might sleep in spare room tonight!
I always love seeing the pine needles hanging from the bike rack on the back of the rv. I never knew how they could stay on for the 675 mile trip back to TN!
Spent Labor Day weekend at Old Salem campground on Lake Oconee, Georgia. Our campsite was waterfront- I could spit in the lake from the pop-up. Watching the sun come up over the lake with my 2 year old DS in my lap, birds starting to chirp, fish jumping, an armadillo wandering around digging for grubs- I love it, I love it, I LOVE it!

Is everyone camping for your mini reunion? I've tried several times to get my family to hang out with us at Fort Wilderness when we're down there at the same time but they insist on crazy stuff like beds and rooms with doors and stuff. Go figure!
Cotton Curl - this will be first time we have family jointing us and I am very happy about that. We started camping late in life and our kids never experienced it before. We have two married daughters who live in different areas of Florida. One daughter and family comes one week and other daughter comes following weekend...may not be all at the same time but I am really looking forward to camping and visiting WDW with them.
We leave for FW in 5 weeks. So it's time to begin getting ready. I loved to see the FW pad gravel in the camping gear. We traded our pop up for a hybrid travel trailer. So this will be its first real trip. My daughter and I miss the smell of our old pop up. But, the new camper will provide years of great memories.

What kind of hybrid did you get? We have had our Kiwi for 5 years now with minimal problems. Sure is easier to set up than the old pop up, and you still get that sleeping under canvas feel.
Just got back from camping in Tennessee on the banks of the Buffalo River. Waking up Saturday morning was great!! A cool, crisp morning, with the smell of sausage, pancakes, and eggs cooking! We then went and canoed/kayaked 17 miles.
This morning was a different story, I was so sore from the trip down the river yesterday, I had to sleep sitting in my truck with the seat leaned back a little. Even laying on the air mattress was painful.
We did another 7 miles on the river this morning, and I worked some of the kinks out, so I feel better.
I still love camping, but I think I'm getting too old for this weekend warrior stuff, when all I do during the week is sit at a desk and drive a mouse all day.
We puchased an 18 foot Gulfstream Mini SL. 2700 lbs. It's about 1,000 lbs heavier than the old pop up. I'll be glad to see how it pulls on the long, 1,000 trip to FW.
