I love credit cards so much!

Haven't seen a DP for MD yet. Try the link - it will have you sign in, and it will say right away if you're not eligible.
Looks like it might work for MD. I put in Chase account info and then it asked for driver’s license info and now it is a financial info screen. I am not going any further know though tonight.

MD is a hit or miss. If you are closer to DC, it should not be a problem. I was able to open this for my dad, yet Chase said I wasn't eligible; my parents live roughly 12 miles south of me.

@MrPTato I am definitely biased since we own at BCV, but I would definitely stay there with a 4 year old for the pool. Stormalong Bay is amazing! I think it is the best resort for a pool day. We stayed at BW this past summer and I love the Boardwalk area, but the clown pool is alittle creepy and not as big as the one at BC. Be sure and get ice cream at Ample Hills!

Second Ample Hills loved their ice cream...we own at BWV...love BCV as well...the only problem I had with the pool was keeping track of 2 kids there and you have to walk across the main walkway to go on the slide...if your 1-1 with your child it’s fine....agree it’s a lot bigger than the BW pool

Another thread I hang out on at the DIS is the "Post all SW concerns" thread. I feel I have a certain level of SW expertise to share there :) I know I see some of you over there from time to time too.

At any rate, I feel bad when these releases come out and I see people unsure what to do with paying cash for flights. Do they book, do they wait, WGA fares aren't available at their desired time, etc. It makes me realize how blessed I am to have lots of SW points and just book whatever and then continue to wait and see if the situation improves. AND even if the flights are expensive it only uses my points, not actual money out of my pocket. This game is soooo good to us sometimes :)
I had a tough time deciding how to utilize my Chase UR points today There were no WGA fares, and the business select fare was only $15 more than the anytime fare. I really wanted to purchase the business select fare via the Chase travel portal to earn 12x SWA points, but I ended up transferring UR points to SWA miles because there is a decent chance that I will need to cancel this flight. This is one of the best benefits of SWA miles in my opinion.

Hmmm...I am nowhere close to DC since I am a mile below the MD/PA line in Carroll County. I’ll look more into when I get home.

That is strange. You are technically further up north than me, yet I got the ineligible message.

ETA: Maybe it's just me...I just tried with DH's Chase login and he was able to move forward with the app. Same address.

I’m at basketball right now between games so I could be missing something here (reading while out of breath, haha)...but aren’t the Anytime and Biz Select fares refundable?? Why not do it that way (or maybe I’m missing something LOL)!

How does the Hyatt point redemption work? Specifically transferring UR 1:1. If there is a room for 8k per night does that mean two nights are exactly 16k? Or are additional points added for "taxes and fees"?

Right now it’s only the Staples deal. We’re bracing to see how far Amex takes this, if they extend it to Lowe’s it appears you’ll be hit with $200. (I think Amex closes au accounts after 6 months or something without an ssn but I’m not certain about that, if that’s the case and it’s been a long time their ssn is probably on there.)

I looked last night and if they do Lowe’s I will owe $50. While I was checking last night noticed that while offer still showing as active on the one card where I have only used $500 it disappeared and automatically changed from 10% off to 0%. Know how in Back to the Future Marty keeps looking at his family picture and his siblings are there but then disappear? It was like that. Scary!:sad2:

It would be 16k. I used the two free nights from card sign up and another 25 or 30k for the 3rd night in May in Paris and didn't owe a dime when we checked out. Using my anniversary night and 15k for a couple of nights in SF this weekend and don't expect to owe anything extra.

We own at the Poly and that was available but looking to branch out and try something different. Seeing the castle across the lagoon would be a tease.

Thanks everyone for the recommendations!

Oh man, you are right! I never purchase anytime fares or biz select, and I didn't think it through. I guess that's what happens when you get an unexpected wrinkle at 5:30am. Lesson is learned for next time, though!

We have minor celebrity going on today :)

The Churning for Disney Megathread was updated and reposted today on Reddit: https://www.reddit.com/r/churning/comments/9bn75x/churning_for_disney_walt_disney_world_megathread/
(not our reddit, public r/churning - or as I like to think of it, the scary one ) I skimmed but most of it seems right, I think the author is still updating so should get cleaned up.

The DISboards got a mention in the Gift Cards section. But I'm confused on the link as it directs to the CC thread here, to an old comment by @amalone1013 !, and not to, ya know, the Gift Card Deals thread where I thought. (@amalone1013 you're on your way to CNBC - first twitter, then reddit, next stop... big leagues ;))

Found @speedyfishy and @DisneyMandC in the comments, threw you some upvotes :thumbsup2 I haven't done my Ctrl+F on the member list yet to find anyone I'm missing... but I would have sworn u/onelove8187 is one of us :) Maybe someone in the Gift Card thread if not on here.

Hi, everybody. I just applied for the Citi Thank You Premier Card. I received the " We have received you application, further processing is required," message. As I mentioned before, I live across the pond and so my stuff can look a little sketchy when applying for a CC. It is the middle of the night in the US though. Should I just plan to call them tomorrow and explain? If so, do one of you have a good contact number? Or should I just wait a few days? I had to call Chase when I opened my CSR back in July, but it worked out in the end.

Any advice is appreciated. I am still super new to this whole churning business and am a little clueless.

I'm famous? How did that happen????

@speedyfishy and anyone else on the having kids issue late to the party but I will venture my opinion. You are still young enough that at this point don’t worry about it. DH and I didn’t even meet until we were in our careers. A prosecutor and a cop...yes we are a stereotype. At the point we got together we were cynical and a little bitter and agreed no to adoption, no to ivf, but yes we would try at least for one kid. I had no reason to think I would have fertility problems but of course I am a planner!

We found out pregnant right after we returned from a trip to Scotland/Ireland. Then can’t have just one and had other two. All 3 of mine are 2 years apart. Honestly if we had started a little younger (didn’t have first until 31) I would have kept going. So you never know. Now we just keep adding animals (because a kitty is the same as a new baby).

For those who have decided no I totally get it. It is not easy. Forces you to grow up on whole new level. Sometimes so not fun. And that’s if they are healthy and happy. My kids are still fairly young but as get older whole new level of stress and expense. You can always change your mind too.

For what it is worth best reason I ever heard to have kids was on one of last episodes of Parks and Recreation. Have kids because you really love each other, think make great team, and would like to have more team members. That’s how I look at it. Of course if you love to travel getting flights/lodging/food for more is a ton harder than just self or couple. It is all a trade off. But that is life. :)

Yes, there were several highs and lows as I went through the link -
interesting, the DIS is mentioned :)
(hovers over the link) odd, it points to the CC thread :scratchin
(click link) neat, I know that poster, what does she have to say about GC's? :D
(reads post) wtfudge? :confused3

I turn 25 this year and Dh just recently turned 25 so I’m okay waiting a year or two. I like that we have the time for ourselves right now and can travel or play in a band while we still can. I don’t imagine a pregnant drummer would be a good scene lol. My parents had to adopt and they didn’t get my brother until they were 31 or 32. That actually was better for my family because my dad was further along in his job and my mom got to stay home with us which I loved.
