I love credit cards so much!

Ok. So got DH's CIP yesterday. Now still need to get another card. Thinking of having DH refer me to get the CIP too. I am 4/24 plus 3 Business Cards. I am 3/6 but 2 of them are business cards. So, I think I should be Ok.

How do I get a referral from DH? I logged into his account and did not see anything.

Other options are Barclay AAdvantage Business - 50,000 AA Points with 1st purchase. Not sure how easy these business cards are to get and if they will not be seen by Chase.

Or Citi AA Business 70,000 with $4,000 spend in 4 months. Not sure how easy these ones are either or if Chase sees these too.

Or AMEX Hilton Business 125,000 Points with $5,000 spend in 3 months . I Know AMEX are pretty easy to get and cannot be seen by Chase.

Was thinking also of Delta Business but the higher offers are gone now and don't want to just get 30,000 points.

So your only concern with a CIP for you is Chase Shutdown...Can you list specifically all the cards (both personal and biz) you have gotten over the past 24 months with Month and Year you were approved?

Couple questions on Global Entry for those who have it.

1. DH will be getting the CSR this fall. Can I get GE for myself with the travel credit, or does it have to be in his name?
2. If I can get the GE, does that normally give you TSA Precheck?
3. Does it work the same as regular Precheck in that it might extend to another person in your party if traveling together?

DH is Precheck and I think maybe every time we've flown together except once that I have also been Precheck thanks to him. I would like to get GE or Precheck for myself (preferably GE) and then hopefully have the Precheck coverage extend to my mom when we fly to NYC this December.

I know it's a lot of big ifs, but just wanted some guidance :) No point in getting Precheck for my mom for herself. I think this will be her fourth time flying in the last 18 years.

i had the CIP working until last night. i got blocked from using it now. they caught me lol. i just have never looked at any other cards. is it a good idea to get a mc just to pay my mortgage?

Mastercards have no restrictions when it comes to Mortgage... although im not sure how your mortgage company will respond when u send them 10 checks of $250 though... LOL.

1. you can, i paid my moms GE with my CC.
2. it normally does. there is a rare chance that it doesnt
3. This was disputed a couple times here. In general, it should give your party Precheck. Officially, it does not. the 4 most used letters... YMMV.

Not sure what you mean by ACH number. The routing number for memory bank is 091017620. The account number can be found on the confirmation page when you applied for the account. At the end it said "Welcome to Memory Bank" and gave you your account number. As a last resort you can always call the bank for the account number or for how to find it online. I could not seem to find it online.

If you want to do a number of these we recommond a "hub" account, as you are describing using your US Bank account, that allows lots of other accounts to attach to it. I'm not sure how good US Bank is at that since I rarely use my USB account, common hub accounts are Ally, Schwab and Discover. (Schwab runs bonuses sometimes and hard pulls for an account fyi.)

I've never said this to anyone but don't overthink this one :) This bank bonus is simple at heart and we have hundreds of DPs of it working just fine. Any 3 transfers from any bank of $200 to the account should get you $100 on 6/15. (@Albort and I were burned ONCE on Chase's definition of "ACH" but that's the only time I (we?) have ever seen that happen. ACH simply means bank to bank transfer everywhere else.)

*ALL banks have routing numbers
Thank you thank you thank you!
I DID screenshot my Welcome page, I totally forgot. And now you gave me the routing number, I am all good. Now to figure out what to do about a bank. Takes time to get money from one bank to another, all my large funds are sitting in my Cap One accounts right now.

He's probably still counting :rotfl2:
I actually was still counting :rotfl:

I had to analyze the spreadsheet vs. the Experian site...LOL! It was actually on my agenda today to check the recent reports to see if some closed accounts were reporting correctly (especially with some AU I had removed recently).

Thanks! Won't be devastating if it doesn't, but would be nice if we were both Precheck flying out of EWR on the way home.

keep in mind that although business cards are not reported to credit report, in house should still be included... so if your applying for a chase card, include all chase business card in the shut down figures. If you apply elsewhere though, then no need.

I think I'm going to buy 30000 SPG points today so that as soon as DH hits the MSR on his SPG Biz, we'll have enough points for a cat 6/100,000 RR points nights & flights package. I think this is my best move since I want RR points in order to book flights for next May. I'm going to buy through points dot com, using topcashback, and put on DH's SPG Biz. Am I missing anything here?

And I'm thinking 'me also'! I wasn't keen on it at first as I don't really need any star points , but if they return the points, I'm up the miles and if not, I've got 1/2 a trip planned somewhere!

Texted my daughter but no reply as of yet. She was using my account to buy points for herself. That would be a gift from 'me'. Then she dropped 30K in my account. So, hopefully I can still buy for me.

Help please on my new Amex card! I have my SPG biz online account set up, and recently got my second Amex of a Hilton biz card. Do I have to set up a whole different online account or can I add it to the SPG account? If it is possibly, is it beneficial to set up separate accounts anyways?

Also, as a side note as I remember reading some of you having issues, after my card was approved I called to request to have the card expedited, the first person wasn't able to because it was the same day the card was issued, so I called back the next day on Friday. That person recommended I not do it because of Monday being a holiday and it not being shipped yet (or something, it made sense at the time but now trying to remember what she said it doesn't really make sense!). Anyways, so I called back on Tuesday and the card had not shipped yet, so they over-nighted it to me and I received it yesterday!

i wouldnt count on returning of starpoints... Based on what ive read, the SPG card line stopped offering points in March because of the complications of earning Starpoints bonus after August 1st. It makes sense that way on why marriott rewards points are still offered but not Starwood.

you can combine them if you want. Just call Amex and they can do it for it. They can do it via Chat if you dont want to be on the phone with them.
Pro: everything is together under 1 login.
Con: your Amex offers gets a bit complicated. if both cards appear with the same offers, adding to one will make it disappear on the other. To get around this, you need to open 2 browsers up and add them at the same time.

OT - just an FYI for anyone traveling to WDW in the next week or so that has a Sunpass - the system will be down for maintenance 6/5 - 6/11, and during that time you will not be able to add a rental car or add money to your account. Of course this is the first time I bought a transponder and will be using it! From what I've read we'll still be able to use it, just won't be able to add the rental car license plate until after the maintenance is done.

I don't think intentionally anymore, unless there's like a long layover. Since flights aren't based on miles it'd be a silly way to rack up points :) Most times it's a backup or desperation purchase. Back aways I had to do PHL to Cincinnati, USAir had one or two direct flights for like an hour duration, but most of their flights went through their hub in NC. So I naturally booked the direct flights but coming back on the last trip there was a plane maintenance issue and they canceled the flight and my only option was the NC connection. Go figure there were plenty of seats available to get us all changed to that one :) With the plane change and layover I think I could have driven it in the same time as the whole trip, but somehow that was cost effective for them.
My FIL just did a crazy one on SW a couple months ago to avoid a storm. PHL-MCO by way of MDW and I think ATL. About 12 hours for a 2ish hour trip but he got there. I was looking at PHL to STL and I think one of the options took me to one of the Florida airports first. (If I did that one I'm not sure I'd get back on the plane :P) I'm always shocked at some of the routings they dream up but I guess it's better to have it on the books as back up than try to invent one later.

When my older daughter was teaching in Spain we wanted her home for Easter, but her funds were low so I offered to pay. This was planned sort of last minute. Found a flight out of Madrid that flew to the Chicago area somewhere and then back to Dulles. For under $600 return. So I give her my credit card to book it and it gets declined - because, according to Amex, 'somebody in Europe is trying to use your card'. Got that straight and eventually she got her flight, and she was happy to fly out of her way just to get an unexpected visit home.

All, If you were to choose between the two - would you apply for the CSR or the CSP and why? I'm kinda anxious about double dipping and having three credit cards although with the hurricane house and the new house (and our trip to Disney in July) I know that I could meet that minimum spend amount in the allotted time frame... not saying that I'm not going to do it, but 3 open credit cards?

Three open credit cards is nothing to the people on this thread. lol If I had to choose I would probably go with the CSR depending on your travel and eating out expenses normally. If you definitely will max out the $300 travel credit it will not be that much more than the CSP. But I would def go for the double dip if you can swing the $8000 spend. You only get one chance to get 2 sign up bonuses. And the sign up bonus is where the deal is lucrative. I did the double dip myself in December and I put it off for a long time, so understand the hesitation! But I am so glad I did it.

My DH had precheck before me. I really thought it would extend to me as he was my SW companion. But it did not. Maybe because the companion gets a different confirmation number? Not sure, I just know that it did not work for us.

@gottalovepluto, sorry another question. Discover is one of the bonuses I was going to apply for, so I could also use that as my hub?

And to clarify, the ACH number is what Memory Bank shows on my online account, instead of the account or routing number for some weird reason.
I will get this all down pat and leave you all alone LOL!
