It has been a long time coming. This time last year we couldn't stand each other.

It took her going off to college for her to appreciate us and realize everything we do is because we love her. You know...that pesky parenting. lol

It was like that with my youngest. We spent years together with the horses and traveling every weekend for horse shows. Later, I think she felt a need to establish her independence (those years got a little ugly). That changed when she left for college. Her college was only 3 hours away so she came home many weekends to help on the farm. When she wasn't home she called EVERY day/night to talk. We missed talking 2 days that first year and that was when I was on my first Disney trip with her Down Syndrome sister. She now lives across the road in the original farm house. In this very mobile society I love having my children close. I love that my DGD who is now 5 is safe to go back and forth and I can see her most days.
